In the past month, I have attempted eight times to talk to the reporters, writers and editors at the Anchorage Daily News about the paper’s coverage of Trig Palin’s maternity.
I was shut down or refused 7 times. The other effort resulted in an off-the-record phone call. In all cases, the party-line was toed: The editors and reporters are “intelligent” and they thoroughly investigated claims that the then-governor did not give birth to Trig Palin. And they came away satisfied that she, in fact, did so.
What was it specifically that allowed them to arrive at that conclusion?
No one said, other than the fact that reporter Lisa Demer talked to Mrs. Palin’s doctor, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson and it was “clear” that it was Mrs. Palin’s baby. And that to suggest otherwise is “ridiculous.”
Collectively, the answer was that to pursue this matter was akin to the Obama birth certificate conspiracy theories and that people are simply going to believe what they are going to believe.
All right, then tell me what Dr. Baldwin-Johnson said and I’ll believe you.
But by then, the answers to my inquiry were getting shorter and decidedly snippier.
So I searched – again - for a story that the Daily News might have written that I might have missed that might have made it all “clear.” And I couldn’t find one.
Laura Novak does the best she can with what essentially makes little, or no, sense.
Go ahead and read the rest of the article, and then come back and tell us what you think is the reason that the ADN did such an incredibly poor job of following up on a story that could have meant a Pulitzer Prize for the journalsit who broke it on the national stage.
CNN reports today that Big Juicy stated yesterday,that Little Juicy's memoir is, "Shocking; Refreshing; Honest; INSPIRING! Perfect," and said it "gives insight into how media can drive false narrative."

Someone with authority is determined to keep this scandal covered up. Who would gain from keeping this secret? Well, the man who got his job from Palin, Parnell. The man who has a lot to lose if the truth comes out, McCain. Ailes and Murdoch would not like the truth to be exposed. All these people would look like incompetant idiots. Someday it will be made public, like McCain's military and medical records. All will be kept secure until all parties are dead and buried. That is unless someone with a spine decides enough is enough and spills the beans.

ReplyDeleteI stand by that Trig 1 was Track and Bristol's baby due to drinking and parental anger. You take one very easy girl and one very pissed off boy who knows his parentage, combine = Trig.
Sarah is never going to let this cat out of the bag. Maybe that is why Bristol gets so much. Mommy buying silence with love and money. I bet Bristol has never been so loved as now.

ReplyDeleteDaugherty KNOWS. I am not 100% sure he knows who DID give birth to Trig, but I am 100% sure he knows NOBODY gave birth to Trig at Mat Su on April 18 of 2008.
Daugherty got an off the record admission from a Mat Su staffer that Dr CBJ was not on staff during the time Trig was allegedly born. IF she was at the hospital it was not in any official capacity. And in this day and age for a doctor to deliver ANY baby, much less the current very popular governor's Down syndrome, premature, hole in heart baby while "off the clock"? NOT HAPPENING. Forget that it's illegal- it's such a liability, a doctor would never do it. There's no official patient record if there's no "official" doctor.
If Dr CBJ was there, she had no more legal or medical right to "induce" a labor and deliver a baby than one of the janitorial staff.
The reason PD will never spill is because of the money, yes...but also for the same reason McCain won't- he'd look so incredibly foolhardy for choosing a mentally unbalanced pregnancy faker as the successor to the highest office in the land. Now, after putting Loy's balls in a vice, and backing O'malley up against a wall...how could he explain his reporters' stories?
He DID try and leave room for plausible deniability- PD personally told them not to make ANY mention of seeing her BARE belly and to only ask CBJ "if it was Palin's child". That way when the truth comes out, PD, Loy, et al can say "look, we ASKED CBJ if Trig was Palin's baby and CBJ said yes, absolutely. How were WE supposed to know CBJ was saying he was "absolutely" her child because she had "absolutely" adopted him?"
PD would love for this to break but still have the ADN coming out clean. The man has been swigging maalox like a Palin on a wine cooler. He lives in constant fear of waking up to the day Someone Talks.
She can only tweet the same thing over and over.

ReplyDeleteEverytime I see the pregnancy pictures, both Big Mama and Daughter, 'alien morphing' or shape changing comes to mind. It would me an interesting grouping to run through boobs and pregnancy tummies for both. Most humans do not change shapes like that, so quickly and so often. It explains why they aren't normal :-) in any other way doesn't it?

She blushes over the pageant crap even. I knowit looks bad to call men the things she does but come the freak on. How are men going to gradually change THEIR ways and actually treat women with respect in the workplace without a kick in the pants? They aren't. anon 5:41, no one attacked Bristol for her weight. The Palins' have a shakey history on the pregnancy front and it looked very much like she was pregnant again and that is the ONLY reason her weight was an issue.

You all seem to have one or two primary points/ethics/illegal issues you are very interested in, yet you seem to interact and intertwine so well. Laura's approach is different but I reminded her in a comment that Al Capone never went for a real crime, he went for tax evasion. Will Sara ever go for some of this shit she pulls? Probably not but a person this messy and with as many bodies in the ditch as her leftovers, well, there has to be a screwup, maybe many in there. So I admire Laura for taking a slightly different tack to bring her to justice and make her accountable

What on earth are you smoking?
1)Sarah does not play down her looks. She winked her way through a vice presidential debate, wore hooker boots to Walter Reed, and wore a skirt up to her hoo-hah on stage at an event to honor vets.
2) There are millions of fine men out there who respect women without needing a "kick in the pants" to do so. Your comments and Sarah's comments indeed show a sexist view of men.
3) I have never seen a respected female politician of any party or any ideology who felt the need to get attention by denigrating and verbally emasculating men in the contemptuous way that Palin does. Rather, they get their respective views heard by being knowledgeable and educated on the issue they are discussing.
3) A women "behaving like a bitch or a harpy" is not "playing the man's game for a change." She is choosing to behave in a vulgar and inappropriate manner. A man who behaves in a piggish manner is also responsible for his own choices in how to behave.
4) An informal blog discussion is not the same as a more formal setting requiring "company manners." Palin is a mannerless boor with no concept of the dress, manners, or behavior appropriate to whatever situation she is in at a given time.

More importantly, I wouldn't want Tripp having this story all over the media for posterity, if it's true.

ReplyDeleteGryphen's willingness to let people reveal as much or as little as they want has plus and minus points- the plus being that people who really do have good information or leads/hints can post them here without fear of retribution from Sarah or her Flying Monkey Army of Combat Vets. The minus- well, we have to put up with Sarah, Bristol, and Willow sockpuppeting up a 'flippin' storm. But they're all so dim and obvious, at this point it's funny enough to almost be a plus.
Laura's blog likely gets a VERY high percentage of its current traffic when Gryphen links up one of her posts. I seriously doubt she has gripes so you ought to let yours go too. The more places to discuss, the better! Gryphen attracts a snarky, side-splittingly funny contingent while Laura has a large group which loves academic type discussions. Why can't someone enjoy them both? Why does ALL the discussion need to be in one place? Just silly.
OT from this comment, but the poster saying Pat D from ADN knows the truth is right. After he had already tried to get CBJ to say definitively that SP *gave birth* to TPVP, he told his own reporters to specifically ask ONLY if it was SP's child and to not say the words give birth to. Obviously he found out something between his back & forth with SP and O'Malley's "make. it. stop" (IT being real reporting and truth in journalism, obviously)
There is NO other explanation. Pat D learned something about TPVP's maternity/birth which totally changed his attitude toward SP and the issue in general.
He looks like he's aged five years in the last one year. Something is obviously bothering him and I believe it's the fear of being discovered as complicite in a cover-up.
So, kind of O/T, but I can't help but notice in the photo of Levi w/ newborn Tripp (where he's wearing the hospital bracelet, someone posted it in the comments of a post yesterday or so) that Levi has a wedding band on his thumb, if I'm not mistaken. By the time of the RNC, hadn't he already gotten the tatoo of Bristol's name on his ring finger? Wasn't there a story behind him getting that tattoo? That he kept losing the ring, so he decided to get something more permanent? Or not?

Probably nothing there, but just got a nagging suspicion that won't go away...but anything to do with Sarah Palin elicits that reaction in me.

We tried to drop our ADN daily subscription and keep only the Sunday (for the ads) but they talked my husband into keeping daily service AT NO CHARGE. They need to keep their subscription numbers up to sell advertising.

Someone said if you look at pictures of Trig from some Arizona rally Sarah brought him too, with a 1776 sign nearby, he looks a lot like Levi. I saw one picture in Google images in which I could see what they were talking about; not sure about the rest.

9:27, that's true. Trig is wearing a red striped shirt and is being held by Sarah in many photos. Once again, there's a large, loud crowd...yet Trig just drifts off to sleep. He looks so discombobulated in the photos it's hard to believe he wasn't drugged.

In a family this dysfunctional, with all the drugs and drinking going on, all the unhappiness and dissatisfaction, the mother (and I use that term in it's loosest possible definition) usually gone.........nothing should surprise us. Shock us? Yes. Surprise us? Nah.
