Tens of people show up to Bristol and Sarah Palin's book signing today. Does anybody else hear crickets? Update!

(Video courtesy of Kare 11.)

Here are a couple of pictures that one of my visitors snapped of the pathetic affair.

Personally I am shocked!  How can there NOT be huge interest in a book about a young girl getting hammered on wine coolers, losing her virginity to a hockey player, having a baby out of wedlock, and then making hundreds of thousands of dollars by telling young girls to do the opposite of everything that she did in her life?

Hell she even brought her mommy to help.  What, are people finally starting to wise up or something?

Oh the humanity!

Update: Here is video from later in the day featuring both Bristol and Sarah trying to appear optimistic as they realize their star is rapidly dimming out of existence.

  1. Even the local news coverage showed the sparse number of people waiting in line. Too bad there was any coverage of it at all, but it did backfire big time. I keep hoping and praying for the Palin nightmare to end. Maybe there is an end in sight. When I see Bristol's book on the clearance table, I will relax a little bit more.

Sarah did herself no favors yesterday. Keep it up, Grifter.

This video talks about the vast difference from the last time Sarah was at the Mall of America.

We're talking number of fans and not tomato throwing.

Oh good! I was hoping you'd post that video. Sarah and FOX think they can inflate crowds and it needs to be pointed out that hers are dwindling.

The ADN has an article estimating
1500 were there. I hope someone who is registered there will post the truth.

Hey Sarah! Welcome to reality and your future. And for Bristol, I guess not that many are into your wine cooler drunken sex in a tent saga. I'm shocked!

Bwahahaha! Airport security has longer lines than these two losers had.

  7. By the way the pictures posted were taken at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. today, NOT early in the morning.

The crowds simply never materialized, despite what Palin's media people might say later to cover for this huge embarrassment.

Gryph, There is a newer video showing the actual book signing. It shows that there were only a couple hundred and most were gawking from the balcony not wanting to buy a book.

Not only is the bloom off the rose, but the leaves are covered in powdery mildew, the stems are being eaten by Japanese beetles and the buds are turning black and mushy.

I maintain that this was probably not the first time Bristol lost her virginity and they are paying off a few boys to shut their pieholes, because she couldnt.

Sarah you must be so proud that your daughter excels in the family tradition of getting knocked up prior to marriage. And, then, brutally disfigured herself to make herself beautiful according to your standards of beauty.

By the way Sarah, are you still Acting Wife for Chuckie? Or, are you too old? Because he likes young girls like Piper.

Chuckles, get your nose out of those kids' underwear, you nasty old pervert. You fucked up all of these people.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Anonymous5:33 PM

Ohhhhhh the embarrassment........History making, brissdull's signature will be worth nothing, nor will scara's. I'll give the kids a pass since they are so young and dumb. OT. I was looking around to see if any of the sites devoted to scara or her own that are asking for money to donate to her, offer to take a portion of that donation to help a cause--that would be a nice Christian thing to do. I could not find anything. You would think that she could donate a dime, at least, to the Wounded Warriors or something. Found Zip--anybody know of anything that she or the people supporting her contribute to anything.......anything at all???? I am not surprised, but it is really pathetic that no one has done anything like this to try to make her look better.

Are there any pictures from like 5 to 6 when it was actually starting?

Pretty pathetic. Won't be getting any more book deals after this unless she does the "How I got away w/ faking a pregnancy" book.

Wow, that is excellent. Looks like America doesn't have Palins at Heart. We Americans have a serious case of Palin fatigue.
And were talking Minnesota here folks they lean left and are somewhat pro labor and they would think she is an uneducated joke.
I have hundreds of relatives in Minnesota. most of these folks probably just want to sale her book on ebay.
I'm proud of Minnesota today, and haven't figured out how crazy Baucmann has stayed in office there. I guess her district is full of the few idiots Minnesota has.

Amen. The end of the "liberal media" shoving this free-loading family down our throats is in sight. If she is unable to draw a crowd at MOA then just stick a fork in her. She's done. It is particularly delicious that Sarah thought she would bring her cult/fans in to buy Bristol's book. Not so much.

  20. Thank you Gryphen for posting the TIME the photos were taken as the 1st thing I thought was "oh boy, 'bots are going to say they were taken @ 6am!" I can verify, via my cousin who was AT THE MALL @ 2:45pm today that these photos ARE exactly from that time period! She sent me a text @3pm to tell me she had no idea what was going on (she thinks Palin is a joke as well, but doesn't follow her publicity) but a fellow shopper filled her in. She was paying for something in a store and asked the guy behind her what was going on "down there" and he laughed and said "some Palin book signing thing". So of course, she had to go look. She left her phone in her car (darn it!) so no pics. She told me as she walked past a collection of "curious onlookers" on her way to the elevator she overheard people laughing and cracking Palin jokes! Lots of folks taking pictures with their cell phones from above and then security made them "move along". :)
My "cuz" had NO interest, but she did text me immediately when she returned to her car saying "oh my! You would have LOVED to have been here today!" Yes, I believe I would have. Tomatoes ARE in season....

Wow, it looks like about 13 people are in that line...13! Bristol could never even pull in that many people if Mommy Dearest wasn't there.

Sarah and Bristol don't even get as many fans as the real Snookie. Back in winter, Snookie was here at the DC auto show, and there were over 500 people in line to meet her. Shit, Real Housewives from Bravo do better than Sarah and Bristol when they sign cookbooks or margarita bottles.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous5:48 PM

While we at IM would most likely view this as an EPIC fail. . .some troll is going to write in that as long as ONE person chooses not to get drunk on wine coolers and have their virginity stolen by a gnat and then go on to a four year pre-engagement relationship to still manage to get pregnant while on the pill. . .you've got a million dollar baby and career on your hands.

Bristol doesn't even care that no one showed up even with her awesome mom at her back, she's just happy and loving life unafraid and with her family untrashed with her spoken truth setting the record straight and whatnot.

A story about a teenager getting drunk and losing her virginity has been told in every HS since there have been high schools. In the words of Joe McGinniss, Bristol and Levi are boring. I have much better things to do than analyze either of them. As far as Sarah goes, until she announces that she is running for president no one is interested in her either. Unless, that is, there is some good JUICY scandal!

Sarah: If I run, it would be an unconventional campaign.

    In other words:

    Making friends everywhere she goes.

In her book, the younger Palin said she also discovered something else while staying at the 89-year-old Manchester Inn hotel downtown: cockroaches.

“The raggedy old hotel had dated furniture, small rooms, ugly pink walls, and an abundant supply of cockroaches,” she wrote. “I’d never even seen a cockroach before. Reporters might not think Wasilla is the prettiest town in the world, but at least we don’t have roaches.”

    Like mother, like daughter

The Palins came to Middletown in 2008 just before McCain made an announcement at the Ervin J. Nutter Center in Dayton that Sarah Palin would be his running mate.

Not exactly the great big hit they had hoped it would be? What a joke. Bristol's sleazy book, and Sarah's books, one selling on Amazon for a penny. Hope this pair takes the hint that the good folks in America are becoming quite disenchanted with the Palins. Bristol's book probably will be available for a penny also, in not too long.

    ReplyDelete
  54. So how many people total did come (by 5:00 when it began)? I have heard 200 and also 300? And for me, that is still too many. But, and I cannot remember where Bristol's other signings are, I think the others will be even smaller. After all the MOA is open to many, many visitors. I think her other signings are in smaller places, right? I doubt that there would even be 100 people showing up. Even for Sarah.

Ok, I'm gonna admit that I was extremely interested in Pistol's memoir. And initially I was prepared to spend $50 or more to find out the answer to one fundamental question: is a young female dropout with flexible morals, no apparent skills or talents, a small child of inconclusive parentage and Jay Leno's chin afraid of life or not afraid of life. I HAD to know!!

Then the damn book comes out and the title is, of all things: "Not Afraid Of Life". My burning question was answered in the title!!! Suddenly, I had $50 I no longer needed to spend on what the Nobel Prize literature committee is likely to refer to as the "worst. book. ever. "
So I hustle over to the 6/10 (discount convenience chain that prides itself on being 'slightly less convenient than the competition') and I buy $50 worth of cheap beer, Slim Jims, Twinkies and losing lottery tickets. And I have admit it was a better value than that ridiculous book. In fact, even the Twinkies label was a better read than the cynical prattlings of a 20 year old with nothing valuable to say.

Thanks, Pistol, for giving away the whole secret of the book in the title!!!

Now I can't wait to read her mother's next book "Yeah, We're Only In It For The Money!". And I won't have to buy that either....

“The raggedy old hotel had dated furniture, small rooms, ugly pink walls, and an abundant supply of cockroaches,” she wrote. “I’d never even seen a cockroach before. Reporters might not think Wasilla is the prettiest town in the world, but at least we don’t have roaches.”

note to brisdull: more than 75% of america has cockroaches. they are one of the oldest of fossilized insects on the planet. did you not learn about this in school? clueless and ignorant, nothing to offer to the world.

Watch the news clip linked in the story. While it is titled "Hundreds line up..." the story is about how few people were there when the doors opened in the AM (about 20) and concluded that maybe 300 people- including just curiosity seekers- showed up during the entire signing.

Bye bye Sarah- and take Bristol and her wine coolers with you. She might need a few so she doesn't remember the disaster in Minneapolis.

    FOX News poll today :

    Romney 18%
    Perry 13%
    Bachmann 11%
    Giuliani 10%

    Or as foxnews.com described it

Suffolk University poll of New Hampshire

    Palin 4 %

    4% !!!

" Candidates said to be the least trustworthy were Gingrich (19 percent)

4 % and 8 % combined with the sparse crowds
    she has been attracting
    the past year
    are definite bellwethers
    that cannot be ignored.
But, no doubt the idiot media will
continue to report the bald faced

    She's never been as popular

I have a question. Who is the Steelers fan? If it's the Johnstons, which seems a reasonable guess since they dressed Tripp in a Steelers jersey as a baby, then why did Trig also sport a Steelers get up as a baby? Did the Johnstons buy Trig expensive NFL sportswear? It would be weird for the Palins to like the Steelers-they are fish-pickers, after all... If Palins liked any NFL team at all, I'd bet on the Cowboys or maybe the Redskins.

Here are Countdown's top three nominees for today's Worst Persons In The World.

The bronze to Bristol Palin, authoress, desperately trying to sell her new book "Not Afraid Of Life" by telling interviewers on ABC and Fox that she knows whether or not her mother is going to run for President -- and so does her mother. They just won't tell anybody. She could announce she is going to mud-wrestle Michele Bachmann and it wouldn't help her daughter's book sales. Publishing sources tell us that in its first week, "Not Afraid Of Life" sold exactly...1,479 copies. In its first week of publication -- almost always a book's high watermark -- it is not even in the list of the top 100 hardcovers. It was exactly one copy ahead of "Professional Idiot" by Steve-O from Jackass. And then there's the audio version of "Not Afraid To Live." In its first week, total copies sold? Eighteen. One-eight. Bristol Palin may not be afraid to live, but viewers evidently are afraid to buy it.

Funny stuff! Here in Minneapolis, there was very little coverage of the Blessed Book event at MOA. Almost nothing in the Strib or on any other channel.

On Fox 9 this morning, they had maybe a 60 second blurb, and showed this pathetic footage with maybe 5-6 people sitting on the floor in the front of the line - yards and yards of empty space behind them.

Just before 10:00 CST, I saw another report on the local Fox station - there were NO crowd shots and they talked to some RWNJ in a C4P shirt, and showed some other very-close-shots of Taaad, Bristol and Sarah - again absolutely no crowd shots.

Sarah is trying to wait until the last minute to say whether she will run for the presidency because she does not want anyone to have time to properly vet her and her past. She can call it an unconventional bid for the presidency, but her real reason for waiting late in the game to declare her position is to bypass a timely vetting as was done during her run as McCains' VP. Also, remember Donaly Trump told her that as long as people assume that she is going to run, they will continue to give her money.

All those public appearances and all, not to mention most likely appearing in films and being a movie star in the next year or so. I'm glad that Brisket's book is titled "Not Afraid of Life" since her book sales did not materialize and she will earn ZERO dollars off their sale, I am glad she is not afraid to fail.
I actually thought that because Saree, or Granny Lulu, went along that it would inflate the crowd or sales of the book. I was wrong( I am usually slow to admit it when I am --You can ask my hubby of 33 yrs also too).
Brisket's book tour ( can you call it a tour with 2 stops?) has tanked , even with the Grifter Granny along to whore herself out. No more than that many Palin fans in MN? As a native Minnesotan it even surprised me that no more than that many showed up. While Mn overall is BLUE there are some very conservative suburbs and areas to the west and south of the Twin Cities. I have been shopping at the MOA ( does anyone else remember opening weekend?) and I have seen more people in line to either get into the movies or to Hooters that are located on the top floor.
Sarah is done. Even with promotion that she would be there with the Brisket sow, she had extremely low numbers. Saree's grifter tour is about to run out of gas.

Gay guys are not necessarily stupid or fawning pawns of celebrities any more than heterosexual guys.

It is insulting for people to talk about "gaydar" and make other slurring remarks simply because the guys are perceived to be gay.

I found myself staring at the ripples on her chin -- it looks as if something is bumpy, lumpy or not quite right aside from its unusual size. Is her skin reacting to an implant?

I wouldn't normally comment on appearances, but really with Sarah and Bristol trading on their looks, they call it into play because it is their primary card to play.

The two guys they showed either don't know they are gay yet, or they're one of those super submissive males who cannot wait to be whipped by a dominatrix.
Hmmm....the next (current??) role for MISTRESS PALIN?? To whip and torture immature males?

One reason for the poor turnout at MOA is the lack of camping allowed.

No tents, no wine coolers, no... well you get the idea. Next time if camping IS allowed the turnout might be better. If free beer is provided, or hard cider like the founding fathers drank, then there will be a crowd.

Watch the video in fullscreen mode, to get a close look at Bristol's chin.""

It looks like there are implants on both sides of her chin that meet at the bottom. They look like they have shifted some how and you can see the original chin within the "arms" of the two implants--gross!!

So glad I DVR Keith Olbermann's new show on Current TV!

Tonight's Bronze Medal for Worst Person in the World was won by Bristol Palin!

And I quote the great KO:

"Bristol Palin. Authoress. Desperatly trying to sell her book "Not Afraid of Life" by telling interviewers on ABC and FOX that she knows whether or not her mother is going to run for President, and so does her mother, they just won't tell anybody. She could have announced that she's going to mud wrestle Michele Bachmann and it wouldn't help her daughter's book sales.

Publishing sources tell us that in the first week, "Not Afraid of Life" sold exactly 1,479 copies.

In its first week of publication, almost always the book's high-water mark, it was not even in the list of the top 100 hardcovers in this country. It was exactly one copy ahead of "Professional Idiot", by Steve O from Jacka$$.

And then there's the audio version of "Not Afraid of Life". In its first week, total copies sold? 18. One Eight. Bristol Palin may not be afraid to live, but viewers evidently are afraid to buy her book."

Once upon a time, people from all over the US got on airplanes with empty suitcases, and they arrived at the Mall of America just to go shopping. (There was a shuttle bus from the airport directly to the mall). I know that things have slowed down during the recession, but just compare the turn out with Sarah's turnout when the economy was in the same bad shape.

And, please, about the demographics. Michele Bachmann manages to appeal to a very conservative district that's within easy driving distance of the mall, too. There are plenty of crazy people in that state. They once voted Jesse Ventura in as their governor. Let's face it, Bristol is bombing.

I lived in Minneapolis from 1995-1998 and wasn't aware that there was a gay bar at the Mall of America. These 3 boys that were interviewed by KARE 11 were ALL GAY (I'm gay, too, and they set my gaydar off into the stratosphere). What gives? They are probably either conservative Catholics or Lutherans with at least one foot still in the closet. I guess they're like $arah and don't read much, or they would have known about Bristol and Willow's homophobic escapades on Facebook. They'll find out soon enough, however, and then the turd that is the Palins will really stink!

ann_s You said "Those are closeted young gay men who probably believe it is a "sin" to be gay. They are trying to be conservative. It's sad but they will eventually mature. I feel so bad for them."

I agree, at least I want to believe that to be true as well. So I apologize to anyone that was offended by my poor choice of words. I referred to them as "fucking queens" because even when I was younger, in total denial, with Parents loyal to the Republican party, when I was old enough to vote I could clearly see that something seemed wrong with conservative values, the didn't seem to include everyone. I called my father from college for advice during voter registration and voiced my concern and he suggested I register Independent. So I did. that was 25 years ago. If Sarah Palin had been on the scene in the late 80s I would have called my parents and asked them to vote democrat for the first time. I had no problem getting them to do it for the first time ever in 2008. If my conservative Republican parents know Palin is bat shit crazy then these boys should know it too! I'm gay and I see bunch of stupid queens that should know better, closeted or not! My parents have already donated to Obama's re election campaign, old people really hate being scared over fictitious death panels and they love having the calm, cool, and collected President. He's the only sane person they trust! Sorry I just can't excuse closeted gays that support Sarah Palin because she didn't fool my parents, and they voted for Bush!

If you freeze Biscuit's picture around the 50 second mark on the second video you end up staring at her chin because there is something obviously wrong with her implant. It looks like a some type of splice line or seam.

anonymous @ 8:39pm I'm 40 and gay, and I called them "fucking queens" because that's what I see. I have no problem referring to them as "girl" or "Mary" because again, I am not heterosexual and I'm just calling it like I see it. It's my honest opinion. 80% of the gay men I know don't act that way. But it wouldn't to matter to anyway because it's not the issue. They pissed me off for not having enough common sense to realize Sarah Palin doesn't deserve their support. They are stupid... and they are living in denial! I'm calling them out! When it's that obvious it's not disrespectful or homophobic, it's just honesty.

I'm still pretty impressed with those numbers. The only authors who reach large numbers are typically FAMOUS politicians, former president, and timeless stars. In NYC, Joe Scarborough, Mika and Willy draw about 100 and the signing is finished in an hr, with talking. In nyc also, Stevie Nicks drew maybe 300 and was finished in 1.5 hours. Dubyas books sold more than any other former presidents. No idea on his lines, but pictures showed winding ones that spanned the length of the store. Meghan McCain drew maybe 100 if that. maybe, but she also didn't grab headlines or attention.

Re: Bristol's bitching about the hotel decor and bugs.

In the AlaskaHDTV program where Sarah "hikes" Juneau with Scott Slone, after she answers his Q about when the gov.'s mansion was built, she starts bitching about windows that won't close… making it clear that the old dump wasn't quite up to snuff as far as she was concerned. And she couldn't care less that this is all being recorded as a promo for Alaska.

It's just impossible for her to be truly gracious. I think people aren't really listening to what she is saying, and so because she's smiling they THINK she's being gracious. She just instinctively knows how to over-ride people's circuits to some extent… I find it quite eerie.
