That is a disgusting thing to post, and I certainly do not see the humor in it.
I dislike Fox News as much as anybody, but this kind of crap is uncalled for, and joking that our President has been killed is completely indefensible.
Fortunately it appears that most people understood what was happening.
Despite the false reports coming out of the Fox News Politics Twitter account, online readers appear to be savvy enough to understand the messages are fakes and used the incident to lampoon Fox. In response to one of the false messages that read, "The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed." Twitter user heydarguise said," Obviously thats fake tweet. Fox news would not be sad at passing of obama. IT would be party tyme."
I saw this on Huffington Post and it literally twisted my stomach.

to you guys who keep mentioning the "wedding ring": Levi said in the Larry King interview that he had gotten Bristol's name tattooed on his ring finger because "He lost the ring SHE had given him." So the fact that he has a ring on those pictures is NO BIG DEAL. It is not a wedding ring; more of a "promise" ring. They were planning on getting married, from what I heard, even before the baby came along.

When I saw these tweets, my first thought was that the hackers were anti-Fox. What better way to highlight the hypocrisy that is Fox than to post these. As one commenter said, Fox would be celebrating if it were true. And any decent hacker will make it impossible to fix the hack. They changed the password, making it impossible for Fox to remove the tweets on their own. And my guess is that the Secret Service didn't want anything changed by Twitter or it would destroy a trail of evidence. I work with high school kids and I'm amazed at how anti-Fox they are (they watch Stewart and Colbert), yet a lot of them consider themselves conservative. Very strange cognitive dissonance.
