Sarah Palin and babies, a love story. Well a story anyhow. Update!

"Watch how I make my kids cringe with terror."

"Quit squirming your screwing up my signature."
"Okay I've held it long enough, take the damn picture already."

"Hey stop crying, I'm supposed to be good with retarded children."

Okay perhaps I was unfair, I mean surely she is much more competent with her OWN babies.

I stand corrected.

Gee I hope that is not something genetic which gets handed down from mother to daughter or anything.

Can't say I am surprised.  Of course not being very good with babies does not necessary make you a bad person or anything.

Just not my day for being right is it?

Update: Okay I wasn't going to rub it in, but since so many of you asked...

Good post as usual Gryphen! MCShame was bad with babies too. Off topic but there was an oil spill in Montana early today that dumped oil into the Yellowstone River which is already flooded. I can just hear Quitler's response-Obama's fault and drill baby drill.

Also too......as per the Bristol post, I came late to the party.

My observation is that Bristol was sexually active for over 2 years, and her parents had no clue? or did one of them get her on BC, my guess would be mamma grizz.

And, then those same two parents throw her into the national limelight as an unwed teen, breaking Christian values......just so Sarah could have a chance to be VP.

What type of parent would do that to their child? What the H, they knew! Why in the world would they do that if they loved her and was such a close knit family??? THAT does not make sense!

And now they have Bristol so brainwashed and browbeaten she caves and says SHE was the one who made ALL the mistakes.

    Good Grief!

This family is something else, and to air their dirty laundry in front of our nation and the world is just SO brazen and ridiculous, I hardly have words for how absurd this is.

If I was a baby looking at that face of Sarah Palin, I'd scream my head off. She looks as comfortable w/children as a dog who hates kids.

Look at the dysfunction in the Palin family...she's obviously been a horrid mother! All you have to do is listen to Bristol's recent interviews - she's a lying sack of shit just like her poor excuse for a mother!

  12. I have seen no nurturing or adoration in pictures of Mrs P with Trig. Not sure how the baby bingo all plays out but it's been my long suspicion that this child may be Todd's but not hers. She probably guessed her public would forgive her a grandchild out of wedlock blaming a reckless teen but a hubby? She could in no way whitewash that with her type of fans.

Of course, the photos of Levi interacting so lovingly with both infants makes me rethink even my crazy theory. When it comes to this family, nothing would surprise me.

  23. In the thread responding to the pictures of Sarah & Bristol when each was 32-weeks pregnant, one commenter called Palin "Medea" and another responded that perhaps "Medusa" was what was intended.

I think Medea is the right comparison. Medea, the wife of Argonaut Jason, was a poisoner, was responsible for the death of her own brother and conspired to have a rival king's daughters kill him (the king), which they did.

The photo of Bristol with both boys struck me as oddly familiar, then I scrolled down to the post comparing the infamous 3/14 photo of Palin with a photo of Bristol supposedly pregnant with Tripp. Bingo! Not the exact same face but it sure looks like the two photos were taken around the same time, with Bristol's face looking equally thin & equally mature in both. The comparison highlights what others noted about the "pregnancy" photo, also too: the disconnect between the thin face and big bosom/belly. The empathy belly returns?

  41. Anonymous6:33 PM

I never tire of the Obama video with the crying infant. Sasha and Malia must have had a great bonding experience with their dad from the moment they were born. That's important for all kids, but especially girls and their dads.

But you already know that, Gryphen.

I have to admit that I was extremely awkward holding my first baby. He seemed so vulnerable and fragile to me, and it took awhile to adjust to the full weight of motherhood, but I would NEVER hold him facing forward, while mugging for the best angle, wearing high heels, and hyped on God knows what and red bull.

Levi seems to have that same knack, it's a shame the baby mama is using her baby to punish him while exploiting him for fame and fortune.

Hey Bris, if you truly love Tripp, you have to get over your hate for his dad. You chose him, and Tripp needs him in his life. Oh wtf, why do I even bother? She has no conscience and reasoning with stupid people is just futile.

I just love the gentle bounce he does with that baby when he pulls her close. Love the look he gives Michelle. Clearly he has been a very involved daddy and easily connects with kids.

One of my favorite memories is sitting with my then-4 month old daughter watching Obama do one of his first interviews with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes, just after he announced he was running. I knew I liked Obama but didn't really expect I would vote for him. Still I didn't want to miss the interview and sat with my daughter propped on my lap.

Every time they showed a closeup of Obama answering a question, she COOED. It was the most remarkable damn thing. She had never made any kind of noise like that, yet this cooing and babbling happened Every. Single. Time. he answered a question. The camera would show Kroft and she would stop. Then Obama's face would fill the screen and she would start talking to him. This went on for 15 minutes! She was so damn HAPPY and I kind of wondered what the hell she knew that I didn't.

I don't always agree with my prez, but I am so happy I voted for him. He is just a good person and that goes a long way.

7/2/11 Called Bristol about you. She refused to let me see you. (Then he could write down how he feels about his son and what he'd like to do with him and tell him.)

Not only would this document his attempts to spend time with his son for Tripp, to counter when his son accuses him of abandonment due to Palin brainwashing but it would also serve as a record for the courts should he ever decide to sue. Having a diary or journal holds more weight than heresay from the other party. When it's he wrote she said the writing has more weight.

    Just sayin'.

  58. Back before the 2010 elections, Palin came to my town to stump for a carpetbagger that lost the primary. Anyway, an enterprising television reporter and his cameraman met Sarah at the airport! She came down the concourse carrying Trig, and you could tell she was surprised to see a member of the press. She would not stop walking and seemed desperate to get away. She placed Trig between herself and the reporter, which seemed an odd thing to do. I think most mothers would instinctively shield their child from a perceived threat, not use their baby as a human shield!

From the days of Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, we all have enjoyed the "free" commentary and free speech, thank you for continuing that tradition and a value of the US that I hold dear. We expect you to be here daily ( multiple times) we expect you to be a constant source for the voice of the "small" guy, and yet we never seem to worry about the time it entails for you. ---------------------------------
    Toes in the Sand,
As a former mediacally fragile foster parent I can tell you EXACTLY why holding a baby away is of value.
If a baby does NOT KNOW YOU and gets thrown into your household that first night, then sometimes it works to hold the baby faced away from you so the baby will sleep. It is done just that first night or day, just so a new addition can be rested before you can bond enough to rock and cuddle them. It is NOT good parenting and used sometimes by foster parents with new lil ones, not out of uncaring, please do not interrupt it as such. But an overtired baby cannot adjust as easily as a well rested one.

I agree with what you said about the two boys not looking as if they are 9 months apart. I also think that they resemble each other. But, the most telling thing is the way Trig is beaming at Bristol . Are there any pictures of him looking at Sarah with that look on his face ? I don't think so.

Show us the evidence of Palins warm and affectionate interaction with children. They say a picture paints a thousand words for good reason.

The lives of her own children reflect some serious shortcomings as to Palin's success as a parent. But I forget those in her camp, follow their leader, perpetually finger pointing and blaming anything and everything but themselves for the enviornments they create.

IMO, you lack the courage to take responsibility for your personal evolvement and the way you interface with the world around you. Grow up, open your eyes, broaden your perspective, recognize that you are but a part of the whole. Have the courage to be part of something much greater than yourself. And I am not talking about Palin's limited world view.
