Sarah Palin has a movie, so of course Michele Bachmann needs a movie too.

Courtesy of Politico:

Conservative organization Citizens United will hit Iowa airwaves next week with advertisements touting its film about Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), who’s already sitting toward the top of most polls in the first-caucus state.

Citizens United president David Bossie said the ad — a $75,000 buy — is not a political message or an independent expenditure in support of Bachmann because it promotes a movie, not a candidate. The ad won’t feature a political disclaimer — Bossie noted that Citizens United, which last year prompted the Supreme Court case that upended long-standing federal campaign finance laws in the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission decision, has a media exemption for such communications.

Though there was a national ad buy to promote the DVD-only “Fire from the Heartland: The Awakening of the Conservative Woman,” when it was released last fall, this is the first advertising during the general election and the first targeted at a state crucial to the presidential election. And though Citizens United has produced films on other conservative figures, including fellow presidential contender Newt Gingrich, the new ad buy is their first and so far only promotion featuring any of the 2012 hopefuls.

“With this ad, we are drafting off a leader, and we’re very lucky because we happen to have a wonderful product and have a front-runner starring in our film,” Bossie said. “We want to place these ads where people are paying attention.”

The 30-spot pictures Bachmann speaking about Americans losing their rights — life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. As she speaks, images of President Barack Obama, burning money and angry crowds of people flash on screen.

“Government is treading on very dangerous ground,” Bachmann says. “The sense is coming over us that something is terribly wrong.”

Here let me help the Palin-bots over at the Sea O'Pee write their dismissal of this particular piece of propaganda:

"Yeah, but HER movie is not being shown in actual movie theaters!  And she is only doing this to steal the thunder from our beloved Sarah Palin whose eternal light shall shine on this blessed land like a giant sunbed browning our souls with freedom and Christian values."

Of course what might NOT be so easy to explain away is why Citizens United, an uber conservative, somewhat frightening group of neo-Nazi propagandists, are throwing their weight (And sacks of money) behind, chronic migraine sufferer, Michele Bachmann, and not Sister Sarah?

Why can Palin only find one, rather sweaty MILF loving, propaganda film maker to finance her opus while Bachmann seems to have the bottomless pockets of Citizens United standing firmly behind her?

In other words does this mean that the lunatic fringe of the Conservative party have now all washed their hands of Klondike Kardashian, leaving only the MOST deranged inmates still clamoring for a Palin Presidency?

Interesting question no?

By the way perhaps we could all take a moment to give a giant middle finger to the conservatives on the Supreme Court for allowing groups like Citizens United to spend unlimited amounts of money promoting their candidate, or criticizing their political opponents, while clogging the crap out of our airwaves.

Assholes!

  1. I've been saying this for months-- the GOP's "saviour" will be Jeb Bush.

If the GOP has any intelligent brain cells available-- they'll have a BUSH/Murkowski ticket.

Murkowski will be the "unPalin" and Quitty Pants will have a hissy fit so large that more icebergs will melt. After this, even the biggest detractors will have to admit to Global Warming. The End : ))

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing the Bachmann film so I can make up my own mind about her candidacy without the biased filter of the liberal lamestream media.

Sara Palin, coming to a stripping pole near you real soon. Her time is done and she doesn't even know it. She can still grab headlines and steal from her crazed fans, even cadge a cover story from a magazine that has fallen so far from its previous glory it's reduced to a tabloid competing against People Mag or TMZ. When the rubber hits the road (and I'm not talking about her bus tour, summer's passing and where the heck is it?) the GOP will have left her gasping for air and relevance. She's toast, despite her plastic boobs, surgical enhancements, crappy wigs, terrible clothes, winks, tongue flicks and folksy charm. She's nothing more than an old bar fly looking to get laid and it's getting close to closing time and no one's asking her to come home with them. She's getting desperate. One or two more attacks and she'll fold up. Battle of the Bulge was Hitler's last vain attempt. Maybe we're going to see Sara do some soft porn photo ops, more skin and cleavage. She'll get the news guys and the old dudes on the couch but then she'll fade away.

Sarah Palin is over & has been for a long time. She can't even "declare" to run. Of course the big $$ has moved on.
Everyone else has. Palin has .08% of the population to support her: .08%. I don't go to C4Peons because it's clear they are loony, as in lunatics, as in crazy as a loon.

Woah--those two scenes of violence are sort of flashed by but if you pause it you can see its black men attacking white/whitish men. I always like to check out the subliminal bits that go by so fast your conscious mind can't get up to speed to see what just entered your brain. I am SO MAD at these corporate interests that are filling the public marketplace of ideas with such inflammatory crap. God Help us. no, really!

Although I highly value and respect the Supreme Court of the US, I, too, will join you in giving a middle finger salute to Justices Scalia, Alito, Thomas, Kennedy and Chief Justice Roberts. They are the corrupt, self-serving, short-sighted, mean-spirited, anal-retentive sell-outs who backed the Citizens United finding.

I wish Thomas could be removed due to his corruption which give our President an opportunity to nominate a moderate or progressive Justice.

If we all get out and vote for moderate and progressive Democrats and Independents and vote for President Obama in 2012, we have a real chance to save our social programs and turn the balance on the Supreme Court.

If a conservative President is elected in 2012, beware: we will never get back to a moderate Supreme Court in our lifetime.

I'd love a progressive-oriented court, but will gladly settle for a moderate one. We need to stop this aggressively pro-corporate and pro-right court. The Justices I listed above do not care whether or not our country is fair for all Americans, only the wealthy classes.

I agree with "conscious at last" - the GOP's savior could be Jeb Bush. Hannity on Fox had him on this week, and he has a humility that the other candidates don't have. He was saying how he purposely didn't do interviews; and even though he keeps saying he wouldn't run, I wonder if he's the man waiting in the wings.

Bachmann, Perry and all of 'em, except maybe Romney, have had too much exposure. Too much isn't a good thing. I think the real serious contenders will be ones who show a serious contemplative side, and aren't screaming for attention. SP is definitely out! She and Bristol have sullied a president Palin brand with their addiction to the cameras.

This seems to be way much better than the Palin movie. The stuff that has promoted Palin has been really 2nd rate. It's as if no one wanted to waste much money or talent on SP. MB may indicate a stronger focus by the powers of the right.

No one is going to jump in on the GOP side at this late date--& certainly not a Bush, whose name alone is still a negative. Also, a Bush campaign would have started to lay the groundwork last year, because those folks are professionals. You cannot run a presidential campaign in less than a year. It's nearly August. The real folks are in. In order to get FEC funds, you have to open a nat'l candidate PAC & have offices in 20 states. You cannot do that, & actually "campaign" in less than 14 months.

I'll second giving the bird to the conservative SCOTUSes. All should vote Democratic in the '12 election if for no other reason than that! We can't afford a 6-3 conservative vote on the Supreme Court. The next President from '12- '16 has a probability of appointing at least one or two new Justices and I would hate to think that there would be two more Roberts or Alitos.

In fact, I think the neo-Nazis turned on Palin way back, not long after she came on the scene, when they saw a picture of her in her Governor's office, and there was a little Israeli flag on her desk (or maybe in the window, I can't recall). I was reading StormFront a long time ago and they hated her for that reason.

Yes, I thought the same thing for a while... but I've also noticed Karl Rove talking about "unconventional" campaign styles. Moreover, I seem to remember, early in the game, a small caucus of GOPers raising $$ separately from the party.

I am not married to the Jeb Bush scenario, but it is far more likely than not.
Just look at the contenders-- a very sorry group. The conversation is slanted so far to the right that the GOP is about to topple over. There has already been discussion of a brokered convention. All I can say is.."ya neva know!!"

This is a stone cold fact:

Palin will NOT announce her intentions one way or another until she gets her wrinkled hands on a copy of Joe's book or manuscript. Period, end of story. It matters not how many of her robot minions beg her or even throw money at her. THIS IS A FACT.

If nothing that can break her comes out in Joe's book, she will announce a candidacy but only with the intent of rousing the sniffers and getting them to send her their last dime. She will pull out by saying Trig has fallen ill and needs his mother. Well, now that this is public she may not. But this is her plan right now.

Everything...EVERY thing...depends on how close of friends Joe McGinnis and Roger Ailes REALLY are.

...But several committee members, including Bachmann campaign aide Wes Enos, said if Perry and Palin were included, any non-candidate could argue that they deserve a spot on the ballot. He said that would be a slap in the face to candidates who have followed the rules and organized campaigns.
