Stephen Colbert takes to the streets after getting the right to form a SuperPAC.

I love how pleased he is with himself.

I can only imagine what kinds of havoc Colbert will wreak now that he has SuperPAC money to throw around.  However he will also constantly be reminding Americans how insane it is that this option is now available to political entities who want to spend unlimited money to support a candidate or political issue.

  2. He can only advertise during The Colbert Report.

Now this is quite interesting. He could buy ad time for his own show. If the SuperPac has enough money, he could buy ALL of the ad time for his show. That means he could conceivably have a 30 min. show.

    The possibilities are endless.

I look forward to seeing what sorts of political ads they come up with.

    I may even contribute.

I've been assured that if I do, I will receive an e-mail suitable for framing.

If I ever donate to a PAC, it would be this. When I'm able, consider it done.

What questions me are the possible limits of 'The Colbert Report'. For example, can TCR buy ad-time in other shows ed. ? Within that frame he could let the ColbertPac go. As TCR he could promote PAC-actions, in which he himself would 'perform' without constraints? I like his idea's and 'gutzpa' going after such an important issue: the honest (s)election of the best possible person suitable for the job. And it will be fun !

I love it and will enjoy him exposing the PAC process to those who may otherwise not understand it or haven't paid attention to it in the past!

I'm so glad Colbert did this....

Our election system truly sucks in America...candidates are bought and paid for....we truly are becoming a third world nation and so many folks don't even realize it.

Because you can't spell donation without nation, and you can't have a nation without do'!

'Scuse me while I kiss this guy!

Again, the comedians do more to enlighten this country than the media. Classic Colbert. The guy is a genius!

I hope he's going to shine a light on how money can be laundered and spent on lavish items with these PACs. It seems comedy is the best way to get Americans' attention these days.

Stephen Colbert, by the way, is starting to shape up as one of this generation's few and true heroes, starting with the "Emperor is Wearing No Clothes" speech he delivered right in Bush's face. I think I really fell for him when he testified for undocumented workers having no rights. And now this...he's just a very, very exceptional person. (You hear that, Sarah? That's TRUE American exceptionalism!)

Amazing that it takes a comedian to drive home how easy it is to set up a PAC and expose the process for what it is.

Al Franken made the shift from comedy to politics, and is doing a great job so far.

Happy Canada day, Fourth of July, everyone! *except, of course, the asswipes in DC who have to work this holiday, that mean Commander in Chief is playing babysitter, but hope he has some quality time with his family as they celebrate and remember the reason for the holiday.

SuperPAC sounds very similar to SarahPAC! Even though Stephen Colbert will not be able to raise as much money as Sarah Palin, I hope that won't stop him from going on his own bus tour to visit historical landmarks across the United States. A Canadian comedienne could make that experience educational and funny. Unlike Sarah Palin and her One Nation tour. She turned that into a really bad joke and made herself look stupid once again. She's lucky her fantards are the most ignorant people on the planet. Let's hope the the manager of SarahPAC steals all the money and leaves the country!

  15. As a "foreign national" (it sounds shady, doesn't it?), I can't Dough-Nate. But will enjoy getting any emails h sends to his Nation of which I feel a part. All right-thinking people are citizens of his Nation. Yeah, Stephen, Stephen, STEPHEN!

And thanks to Jon Stewart (another sane and exceptional American) who and hired and sent out so many great comedians into the world from his show -- The Daily Show -- "the most trusted news man in America."

Only "jesters" in the courts of power can tell the truth. They are greatly feared by despots who know that if their subjects laugh at them, they are finished and are no longer feared.

Sarah, can you hear America laughin' ? The sound is getting louder and louder. Can't wait to see what your next ridiculous move will be after the dismal book thingy.

Michelle -- you are seeing your future, too.
