That's right baby! Whether he was the son of God or not, we KNOW that Jesus did not like corporate assholes!
Bite me Herman Cain! This is the Jesus that inspired one of the the largest religions on the planet, and he was certainly NOT a conservative!
Woo hoo! You got that right, Gryphen.
ReplyDeleteForgive them Jesse, for they know not what they do.
ReplyDeleteI personally like the picture of Jesus turning over the table of the money changers on the steps of the temple. What does Jesus have in his right hand in that picture that you provided, Gryphen. I agree with ya' Gryphen - yea, Herb Cain, bite me, too!! Bite all of us libs and progressives, you regressive, conserative!!
ReplyDeleteCain's not Able!
Just what I was thinking G-man! Those fuglicans know nothing about Jesus. Have they EVEN read the Bible? Sheesh...
ReplyDeleteI am an agnostic atheist: But I DO KNOW who the fuck Jesus was (in theory). And that is more than ALL the Conservatives can say b/c they are all money grubbing hate filled racist assholes...but mostly, hypocrites!
The historical Jesus was certainly not a reactionary, tax cuts for the rich, right winger.
ReplyDeleteOur Founding Fathers never intended corporations to be considered 'individual people' at election time.
AMEN! Preach it, brother!
ReplyDeleteAmen brother! I am a long time agnostic but Jesus was real and very liberal in his time. Cain is as stupid as Sistah Sarsh with his bullshit. eh?
ReplyDeleteI'm watching an interesting development; people who are normally benignly tolerant of other faiths are seeing the anger, intolerance, bigotry, hateful rhetoric and downright threatening language of a segment of the so-called Christian activists and are disgusted. The rabid fanatics trying to make everyone their-kind-of-Christian instead are doing the opposite, building a world-wide resistance and distaste for their beliefs.
ReplyDeleteIt boggles the mind, too, that they ignore the words of Jesus entirely, forgive, don't judge, love others as yourself, etc., and live the very opposite. Their very spookiness is doing a fine job of making sure they won't away with making this nation theirs alone. Kind of like Palin, one of their own, they're self-destructing.
Herm is so out of it. First, it was the 9-9-9 plan (DOA), now JC was a conservative? It was those pesky bleeding heart, liberal Romans and Jews who crucified him, you know, those guys whose "establishment" was in danger of being overthrown by those pesky Christian conservatives...
ReplyDeleteWait, what?
Icarus Cain has burned his wings, and is crashing to the sea.
If I didn't know better I would think that you're now supporting the cristyun pack of lies. Don't go there.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 19:21 (New Living Translation) -
ReplyDeleteJesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.'"
Mark 10:20-25 -
20“Teacher,” the man replied, “I’ve obeyed all these commandments since I was young.”
21Looking at the man, Jesus felt genuine love for him. “There is still one thing you haven’t done,” he told him. “Go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
22At this the man’s face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!”
24This amazed them. But Jesus said again, “Dear children, it is very hardf to enter the Kingdom of God.
25In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!”
James 2:1-7 -
1My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show favoritism.
2Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also comes in.
3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet,"
4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
6But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
7Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong?
Add to that living communally with a bunch of guys, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, helping the poor, all FOR FREE!
Does THAT sound like a conservative to you? Sounds like a SOCIALIST to me.
Suck on THAT, Herbie!
Sam, I agree with your observation. I'm normally very tolerant of other religions, having study some at some depth. I have noticed that those who are known as great religious leaders have several things in common: 1) they are all poor. If they had wealth, they gave it away. 2)They are loving and compassionate. 3)They speak for the dispossessed. 4) They speak of an inner faith/light and personal responsibility for one's life. 5) They espouse what most of us would call positive values: love, kindness, patience etc. (There are more, but you get the idea). These so-called Christians meet none of those attributes. Someone else said they use Jesus as a corporate icon. I think this is a time for the righteous rage that Jesus showed throwing the moneychangers and merchants out of the temple. We need to throw these rascals out of our political system.
ReplyDeleteAmen Jesse, you got that right!

You KNOW that they can't make the connection between defiling the Temple and defiling the Halls of Congress.
ReplyDeleteI was looking up the obituary of an acquaintance yesterday, and came upon this article.
ReplyDeletehttp://northernbeacon.blogspot.com/2011/09/who-that-boy-think-he-is-president.html
While the first four paragraphs are a nice accolade to my acquaintance, the really interesting part starts at paragraph five. A very apt description of what we can do, and what has been done, politically to President Obama.
This is excellent. With this kind of Photoshop skills you could go far. You rock!
ReplyDeleteThat's true! He turned the tables on everyone in his day, especially the money changers in the synagogues! He also said that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." Now, what does that tell you about the conservatives! They think they are appointed by God, but that's not the reality that I read in scripture!
ReplyDeleteA bit off topic, but an example of current Christianity is the half term governor's friend, Franklin Graham, pays himself over a million dollars a year from donations to feed the poor. He also has a private jet which the skank has used.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Stealing this.
ReplyDeleteWWJD? I wish more people who claim to be Christians would ask themselves that question, because Jesus was a community organizer! However, little minds fail to grasp this concept. Thanks for posting this :)
ReplyDeleteAmen,my brother!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is always where I point to my conservative friends and relatives when they spout their talking points at me with their anti_Obama message.
Jesus was a liberal hippie cat who's message was to love each other, it's as easy as that. Those who can't chill with that, like to portray him differently to fit their own agenda.
I have long broken away from organized religion but have deep respect for the message of love that many spiritual leaders have taught us over time.
My sentiments exactly.
