Food for thought.
That's right baby! Whether he was the son of God or not, we KNOW that Jesus did not like corporate assholes!
Bite me Herman Cain! This is the Jesus that inspired one of the the largest religions on the planet, and he was certainly NOT a conservative!
I personally like the picture of Jesus turning over the table of the money changers on the steps of the temple. What does Jesus have in his right hand in that picture that you provided, Gryphen. I agree with ya' Gryphen - yea, Herb Cain, bite me, too!! Bite all of us libs and progressives, you regressive, conserative!! Cain's not Able!

I am an agnostic atheist: But I DO KNOW who the fuck Jesus was (in theory). And that is more than ALL the Conservatives can say b/c they are all money grubbing hate filled racist assholes...but mostly, hypocrites!
I'm watching an interesting development; people who are normally benignly tolerant of other faiths are seeing the anger, intolerance, bigotry, hateful rhetoric and downright threatening language of a segment of the so-called Christian activists and are disgusted. The rabid fanatics trying to make everyone their-kind-of-Christian instead are doing the opposite, building a world-wide resistance and distaste for their beliefs.
It boggles the mind, too, that they ignore the words of Jesus entirely, forgive, don't judge, love others as yourself, etc., and live the very opposite. Their very spookiness is doing a fine job of making sure they won't away with making this nation theirs alone. Kind of like Palin, one of their own, they're self-destructing.
Herm is so out of it. First, it was the 9-9-9 plan (DOA), now JC was a conservative? It was those pesky bleeding heart, liberal Romans and Jews who crucified him, you know, those guys whose "establishment" was in danger of being overthrown by those pesky Christian conservatives...

3If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, "Here's a good seat for you," but say to the poor man, "You stand there" or "Sit on the floor by my feet,"
4have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?
5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?
6But you have insulted the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?
7Are they not the ones who are slandering the noble name of him to whom you belong?
Add to that living communally with a bunch of guys, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, helping the poor, all FOR FREE!
Does THAT sound like a conservative to you? Sounds like a SOCIALIST to me.
Sam, I agree with your observation. I'm normally very tolerant of other religions, having study some at some depth. I have noticed that those who are known as great religious leaders have several things in common: 1) they are all poor. If they had wealth, they gave it away. 2)They are loving and compassionate. 3)They speak for the dispossessed. 4) They speak of an inner faith/light and personal responsibility for one's life. 5) They espouse what most of us would call positive values: love, kindness, patience etc. (There are more, but you get the idea). These so-called Christians meet none of those attributes. Someone else said they use Jesus as a corporate icon. I think this is a time for the righteous rage that Jesus showed throwing the moneychangers and merchants out of the temple. We need to throw these rascals out of our political system.

A bit off topic, but an example of current Christianity is the half term governor's friend, Franklin Graham, pays himself over a million dollars a year from donations to feed the poor. He also has a private jet which the skank has used.
WWJD? I wish more people who claim to be Christians would ask themselves that question, because Jesus was a community organizer! However, little minds fail to grasp this concept. Thanks for posting this :)
This is always where I point to my conservative friends and relatives when they spout their talking points at me with their anti_Obama message.
Jesus was a liberal hippie cat who's message was to love each other, it's as easy as that. Those who can't chill with that,like to portray him differently to fit their own agenda.
I have long broken away from organized religion but have deep respect for the message of love that many spiritual leaders have taught us over time.
