Virginia University dormitories to be cleared of students in order to make way for Sarah Palin and her entourage/family. Update!

"Are you sure they're all gone?"
Courtesy of Joe's blog:

“a whole dorm full of students were told to go home for the weekend so that her entourage could stay there. Some of them were pretty bent out of shape.”

Yep you can't have any prying eyes around when the Palins come to town now can you?

Interesting that our very own Alaskan homophobic-in-chief Jerry Prevo currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Liberty University, don'tcha think?

You might remember Prevo as having joined Palin, along with Franklin Graham, in an effort to help her save face when she failed to come to the aid of the rural Alaskans during their time of crisis, and needed a grand gesture to convince people that she really DID care. She "accomplished" this by purchasing cookies, which she claimed to have made, and then handing them out to the wrong villagers.

(By the way did I mention that Prevo ALSO serves as a board member on Franklin Graham's "we'll help you if you convert" charity Samaritan's Purse?  Well he does.)

Palin should feel quite comfortable on the campus of Liberty University.  Founder Jerry Falwell was one of the last segregationists standing when the racist south was dragged kicking and screaming into the 20th Century:

Born and raised in America's segregated South, Falwell preached that racial segregation was the Lord's will, but dropped such overt racism from his perspective when it became unpopular to say such things aloud. Still, from his pulpit Falwell supported South African apartheid, and opposed Nelson Mandela's release from prison. In one of his earliest appearances in the national media, Falwell made headlines by criticizing Rev Martin Luther King for his political activism. "Preachers are not called to be politicians", said the young Falwell, "but to be soul winners". (Wow! Considering that THIS is the man who formed the Moral Majority, that is one ginormous piece of hypocrisy to swallow!)

It is not talked about much these days, but Falwell actually founded Lynchburg Baptist College, later to be called Liberty University, NOT because he was called by God to do so (as he would preach from his pulpit for the next thirty plus years), but because he was trying to keep those dirty "Negroes" separated from the nice Christian white students, after the desegregation of dorms became the rule of the day.

Unfortunately for the southern racists, eventually Falwell was forced to allow the "colored folks" to attend his school and live in his dorms.

But don't worry! On the weekend of October 8 they will be segregated once again, allowing ONLY Dominionism embracing Wasilla white trash to stay in its rooms!

Somewhere Jerry Falwell is smiling.  (And if there really IS a God that "somewhere" will be the fiery pits of hell!)

Update: Okay this is MUCH worse than I first thought.

The Liberty University kids will NOT have to give up their rooms to Palin and her supporters, the students being ejected are from neighboring Virginia University of Lynchburg.

Here is the report by WSET:

Students at The Virginia University of Lynchburg say they're not sure who they should blame for making them move out of their dorm rooms.

VUL students have been living in two local motels that have been converted into dorms. But those motels are all booked next Thursday, Friday and Saturday because visitors are coming to see Sarah Palin at the Liberty University Women's Conference.

Now, the students have to get out.

Antwan Jenkins, an LU student staying at the Travel Lodge, says it's just not fair he has to repack all of his stuff, along with his pet lizard, just when he finally got his room the way he likes it.

"Yeah we have to get everything up out of here, like we're going home for good," said Jenkins.

University officials say it's been the plan since the students first moved in.

"Sarah Palin is coming to town and those arrangements had been made long before we began to use the motels for students," said Dr. Ralph Reavis, the VUL president.

Carlos Bodre, who's here from NYV, says it caught him off guard this week. He says it will cost him $250 for a train home to New York. "I ain't got a job so I ain't even got that money so I have to call my parents and let them know that they got to pay," said Bodre.

Jasmin Coley, who lives at Travel Lodge, is planning for her mom to come get her from Washington, D.C.

"It cost her a $100 to get here, which means coming and going and then bringing me back and then going back is $400 that we don't have. We're not rich," said Coley.

Did anybody else happen to notice that seemingly ALL of these suddenly homeless students were African American? (Click the link to view the video)

Well surely we can't blame THAT on Sarah Palin. I mean that just must be a coincidence, right?

So Liberty isn't putting Princess Shrilla and her slack jawed brood of family and sycophants up at some fancy schmancy four star hotel? Don't they have a guest house where they put their visitors?

Never mind. I'm sure the students from Liberty have all been sent emails telling them to shut up because god wants Sarah to be have their rooms.

If she brings her children it will be the closest any of them ever get to college life. And let's face it----A Palin at a religious school is like a slug in a salt processing factory. The end results are gonna get ugly.

I'm sure we'll hear plenty of bloviation (look it up Bristol) by $arah on 'Rill 'Muricans, how G_D has anointed certain Alaskan people, and how blessed the Xtians are for being the only ones who know the truth.

And speaking of religion, the folks over at C4P are quoting an insanely prejudicial and repulsive article in the Chicago mag by a woman named Carol Feisenthal. She interviews a New York politician named Joel Pollak, who claims that he thinks $arah suffering, and the way she's treated reminds him of the Jewish people.

    http://tinyurl.com/3kfosve

I had over 20 relatives killed during the 1940's in Germany in various concentration camps.

Mr Pollak is absolutely delusional to think that this "comparison" to Jewish people or our history as a race, or our faith , or our identity has any relevance to Ms Palin.

To add to the breathtaking irony, Palin, and all the Fallwell followers to adhere to a religous tradition that damns all Jews and other "heathen" to a fiery hellish place if we don't come around and obey their exact interpretation of the new testament.

I've read few things that are more short sighted, horrifically repulsive, and maddening than Mr Pollak's comment comparing Palin's reality-show life to the pathos and suffering of the Jews over these many thousands of years.

Why the hell would she be staying in a dorm? The woman has millions of dollars, has demanded luxury accommodations and very specific large private jets.
What is up with her forcing kids out of their housing so she can have the whole building to herself? What is wrong with this picture?

I think she is starting to hoard every damn dime she can now that her star is fading.

Soon Fauxnews will dump her nasty ass because she is barking like a dog at them. Woman knows no bounds with her stupidity.

OK, really what entails her entourage now though? Barstill and Willow are in LA, TRack and Britta stay away, so that leaves Piper and a Tri-G, a Toad and who else?
If I were a student or a parent of a atudent, I'd be making some noise about the inconvenience. But, they are probably all in a flutter over who will be the lucky person to later sleep in a bed Palins slept in.
Whatevs. It's the closest Piper and Toad will ever get to a colleg. Sarah will love the plastic single mattresses and concrete or tiled floors. Unless, she sends in a decorator firt which seems would violate a students rights.

Are the students meant to leave their personal belongings behind? You know like bedding, towels, food and computers?

I would be more than pissed off if I'd been forced to allow complete strangers to live in amongst my personal items. I'd be putting my computer in park, taking the hard drive with me and setting up a nanny cam.

Don't the good Christians of Lynchburg volunteer their hospitality in homes for visiting dignitaries? Why put out the kids?

And, of course, the students receive a partial refund of their dorm fee and are suitably housed at a nearby hotel with transport to/from campus provided.

Who is paying her to speak at the U?? Is her fee coming out of the tuition plus other costs from the students? If her "family" is going, would that include the dropouts Bristol, Willow and Piper? Maybe they will get a glimpse of college life, but I doubt it. They are above normal people. Wonder if Toad will be there, along with Chuckles and Sally.

    From WSLS-TV, Roanoke, VA:

Sarah Palin will be the featured speaker at a women’s conference at Liberty University this fall.

The former Alaska governor will share her “personal testimony of faith” at the Extraordinary Women Conference, which will be held at the Vines Center on Oct. 7-8, according to a news release from conference organizers.

Liberty Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. said in an e-mail Tuesday that the university is “honored to host (the conference) and to welcome Governor Sarah Palin to our campus.

“Governor Palin is greatly admired by our Liberty University faculty, staff and students for her patriotism and her determination to stand up for what is right despite vicious and unrelenting attacks against her and her family.”

    ---------

Uh, she QUIT as Governor, she is NOT entitled to that term in front of her name anymore.

And I cannot believe that 'rubes' are still shelling out $100,000 per speech, or whatever she's getting now, to hear her screech.

As to the kids getting kicked out of their dorms; that's total BS, and I hope they stage major protests that weekend.

Thats right, Bristol given a fake piece of paper, Track no graduation, Willow is slumming with no high school, no home schooling and walking the streets of La. So will Piper end up graduating from high school when she gets older?

This family are screwballs with no learning, no morals, no social skills but just down in the gutter trash talking palin language.

What rotten people. Obviously, no one is willing to foot the bill for a hotel. There is NO WAY my kid's college would do this during the school year. Even though next weekend is a holiday weekend, most students stay on campus. Making them find a place to stay so that someone who makes millions doesn't have to pay for hotel rooms is crappy and as a parent I would be PO'd.

I hope that people have been following the "convo" taking place on the old Broomfield comment thread. Things are heating up between Me Again and Bristol and Sarah commenting as Anons. It's quite interesting to watch their reactive behavior and gives a window into the nature of their personalities. The comments are childish, illogical, repetitive and have a distinct Bristol, and/or friend, voice to them. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why they feel their time and effort are well-spent reading and commenting on IM. But it confirms how effective IM has been at having an affect on Sarah's ambitions and they are like angry pitbulls snapping at a gate. They can't do anything but bark and snarl while the rest of the world walks on by. G, and others, have successfully built a fence using materials provided by Sarah.

    The Palin Strategy – Bait
    Posted on September 1, 2008

The GOP are pulling a fast one. The selection of Sarah Palin is a distraction. It’s a trap.

First the bait: Nominate someone with (to be generous) almost no experience. Now that that the goat is staked out there in the middle of the clearing, let’s look at what happens.

The media comes sniffing around. They can always be trusted to ask the obvious questions – that’s what they do best. And staking a bleating goat in the middle of the political jungle is the sort of thing that raises alot of obvious questions.

The first question is, “How do you justify selecting someone with no foreign policy experience?”
Answer: Barack Obama has no foreign policy experience.

Question: What executive experience does she have that would qualify her to be vice president?
Answer: She has more executive experience than Barack Obama, who wants to be PRESIDENT.

Point: The Democrats have Joe Biden, with years of experience in Washington.
Response: John McCain has years of experience in Washington and was a POW.

So, the GOP has staked out a goat named Sarah Palin. Now the media is no longer talking about the topics raised at the just concluded DNC – an event witnessed by millions that merely presented at least two of the greatest political speeches in many years and the Democratic vision for the future of America. No-one’s talking about it anymore. Have you heard about the goat out there in the clearing?

Now I have a question: Who are they hunting? It ain’t the media. Those idiot jackals will come sniffing around anything. Be very, very quiet. The GOP is hunting Obama.
Let’s look more closely at the bait…and what the GOP either thinks they’re hunting, or what they want to make voters think about their prey – the cagey and elusive Obama.

Christ you can smell Rove’s filthy mitts all over this.
The GOP want to sell this: Barack is an inexperienced celebrity with no credentials worthy of becoming president. He’s nothing more than a great speech and lofty rhetoric. He’s never actually done anything. He’s too young, too liberal, too Muslim, too soft and too black.

    Let’s examine the goat again...

Sarah Palin – Vicious, Ignorant Narcissist AND Mentally Ill

    Posted on October 7, 2008

It’s one thing to find Sarah Palin’s elevation to vice presidential candidate offensive because she’s simply unqualified, intellectually vapid, linguistically challenged and staked out as bait rather than anything resembling a seriously vetted, sound nomination for the 2nd highest office in America.

It’s yet another to examine the mounting evidence and conclude (and this from a purely layman’s perspective) that the snarling, snotty witch of Wasilla is mentally ill.

...Taken alone, this little scrap of paper from long ago would not amount to much. However, considered with the accompanying article by Scheiber which contains the perspective of those who found, mentored, groomed, worked with and subsequently suffered Sarah Palin’s Machiavellian drive to power – those who arguably know her best – one cannot escape the depressing conclusion that this woman is dangerous.

    Palin on town council:

In 1996, Palin was also asserting herself more and more. For example, she’d demand to know why Stein, the mayor, had “raised the budget.” Stein and Carney tried to explain that he’d done nothing of the kind–that, when a city grows, businesses collect more in tax revenue, but that new residents also increase demand for public services. Palin wasn’t appeased. She’d say things like, “‘Oh, okay. Well, that’s the way you think about it,’” Stein recalls. “I was thinking–these are things she should know better. Why is she asking me these stupid questions?”

    Palin’s run for Mayor:

…in a move practically out of Karl Rove’s playbook, she dwelled on how Stein’s wife used her maiden name, going so far as to demand a marriage certificate as proof of their nuptials.

    Palin’s attacks on her “enemies”:

Upon winning, Palin moved quickly to punish her snooty tormentors. Days after she was elected, the city council became deadlocked over how to fill two seats–Palin’s and another that had opened up when its occupant won higher office. Palin insisted on making her own appointments, a move of dubious legality sure to irritate Carney. When he objected, she simply cut off discussion. She later accused him of sabotaging her proposed candidates. As she explained to the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, the local paper: “‘It was brilliant maneuvering I had to do to deal with the impasse.’”

Within a year, Palin had blown through her personal enemies list. She had demanded the resignation of Emmons, the librarian opposed to censorship (who successfully fought for her job), and Irl Stambaugh, the city’s police chief. Among Stambaugh’s crimes? Insufficient enthusiasm when Palin asked him to file a weekly report listing “at least two positive examples of work that was started, how we helped the public, how we saved the City money, how we helped the state, how we helped Uncle Sam,” according to The Seattle Times.

Some perspective on what drives this brainless over-achiever: A desire to extract revenge against those she sees as competent and qualified:

I'm not buying that Sarah "I only stay in a 4 star hotel or better" is going to stay in a rinky dink dorm room.

I saw Sarahs contract during the US Stanislaus debacle, and it is very specific about what level of hotel she demands. Could she have really sunk that far that fast, that the only paid accommodations she can get are DORM ROOMS?

VA Tech is also in Lynchburg, so there are plenty of hotels, so I don't get it.

This had me laughing my ass of this morning!

WHY ME NOT PRESIDENT? : CHAPTER ONE

I went into this assignment – having to actually read Sarah Palin’s “book” in order to snark the living shit out of it with my buddy Redmond – with a line from The West Wing in the back of my mind. When asked if he’d read his Republican opponent’s book, President Jed Bartlet quips, “I’ll read it when he does.” Ha! Pow! Zing! Exactly. Why should I read this thing when Ex-Governor Palin clearly hasn’t?

See, the Sarah Palin of Going Rogue would have us believe she can quote French philosophe Blaise Pascal (p. 22) and Greek toga-model Plato (p. 24) as effortlessly as she can wax sentimental over baleen etching and fireweed, whatever the fuck those things are, even though Candidate Palin couldn’t recall any particular periodical she kept on hand to hone those philosophizing skills. The Sarah Palin of Going Rogue loves the word “independent” (wink-wink!) and warns against the evils of Big Government while gushing over how patriotic she felt when, as a kindergartener, she watched with “overwhelming pride in our country” as an American landed on the moon. Ground Control To Major Palin: NASA is a government agency, you dolt. A very expensive government agency. The Sarah Palin of Going Rogue can’t understand why anti-hunting activists hound her so, while saying things like “I always remind people from outside our state that there’s plenty of room for all Alaska’s animals—right next to the mashed potatoes.” HAHAHA! Take that, ridiculous animal rights activists! Shooting caribou in the asshole from a helicopter is fun and delicious, huzzah! The Sarah Palin of Going Rogue would have you believe she grew up at the public library, buried in books and with a profound love of reading and writing, then caps a long and tedious Sports Analogy Section by gosh-darning, “Everything I ever needed to know, I learned on the basketball court.” Actually, I suppose this explains quite a bit.Chapter One wants to tell you how an independent, go-getting, and fiercely independent (also, independent) woman doesn’t need ridiculous fancy-pants Big Government Liberal Equality Programs like Title IX to succeed in the world, except when she benefits from them directly (“I’m a product of Title IX”). Confusing. And while I wanted to hear the Rocky Anthem pounding proudly behind her sporty tales of Pushing Through the Pain (“hard work and passion matter most of all”), I couldn’t help but cap every paragraph like this with a bewildered Yeah, but you quit, Quitter. When the Going Got Tough, the Gov Got Lost. So please, Sarah, spare us the inspirational sports metaphors. Quitter.Like everything else about its “author,” Going Rogue points to the deep cognitive dissonance at work in Sarah Palin: She’s Jes’ Folks like you, a Real American, and yet the Alaska she describes page after page is a more alien country than we Dumbass Lower Forty-Eighters can possibly imagine. She’s so entirely divorced from the reality of the true diversity of American life that—in one of this chapter’s most distasteful passages—she heaps praise on her husband for his rugged poise and “steel core” in the face of shocking hardship as if we arugula-eating Latte Snobs can’t imagine such things:

If God Had Not Intended For Us To Ridicule Sarah Palin, How Come He Made Her Out Of All Kinds Of Stupid?

    Hi "Bristol's friend".

Bristol, it's nice that you call your mom a friend. Truly heartwarming.

Ladies, you are sad. Did you spend the whole night here, refreshing the page with a compulsion driven by hatred of truth and fear of exposure?

Keep it coming. It's only going to be that much prettier when everything is out in the open. People are lining up to purge their long held Palin secrets and some of those people are very, very high up the political food chain.

But if this is how you both want to spend your last days before you're a complete national disgrace (to EVERYONE, not just the people paying attention since 2008) then that is your business. The more ridiculous claptrap you spew about how I'm lying and other posters are "living hatefully" and Trig is happy and Sarah is practically the patron SAINT of special needs children because she made a photo op appearance at the Buddy Walk exactly a YEAR ago...the better you make ME look and the more satisfaction I get from knowing that Sarah is seething and has tried everything in her pitiful arsenal to shut me up quietly because she knows if she tries to do so publicly...well, let's just say people will be VERY surprised at some of the things Sarah said about fellow politicos while in office. She got her lawyers to redact nearly all of it, but some of those printed emails did a little traveling before the sharpie of lies attacked them.

Yes, I think people would be very, very surprised at some of the things Sarah said about others WHILE she was in office.

Or perhaps inquisitive about the very...familiar...nature some of the conversations between Sarah and Parnell seem.

Or about a derogatory term that BOTH of you used toward Mercede Johnston--who a minor at the time.

I'm sure the ones I didn't see make the ones I DID see look like Saturday morning cartoons. But make no mistake, Bristol and Sarah both would love to keep all hidden, keep living on lies, ignore reality crashing down on them.

But the more they rudely attack me and baselessly call me a liar...the more I might have to host a "Broomfield thread reading night". I think I'd start with the email where Sarah says that a recent cancer survivor "couldn't find her butt with both hands and a map". It just exemplifies Sarah's mean girl schtick, don't you agree?

I'll tell you my story of relevance regarding the very evil, the scourge of Sarah Palin. Her slathering, teeth-gnashing descriptions of fallacious "death panels" sealed the deal for someone like me. See, at the time I was paying $400 a month for insurance, which didn't cover a thing until you reached $6,000 deductible. NOW it's $600 a month, $8,000 deductible. I have a rare bone disease, I have never even seen a specialist since my diagnosis in 2007. A public option was destroyed by the "lie of the year" that Palin spewed. I am one year older than sweet Sarah, and thanks to her, I am already preparing for my death, it is on my mind constantly, and the only thing my $600/mo gets me is a call to a hotline nurse, who urges me to go to the doctor, which I can't afford because I pay too much for insurance. So, republicans, here's another story for you to cheer! Bring me up at the next debate, it's sure to be a big hit!! I have a 14 year old son who adores me. There's something else to celebrate!! I don't expect sociopathic Palin to suddenly grow some empathy, or a heart. That only happens in Dr. Seuss.

As I've mentioned...I am already in contact with Gryphen safely and securely and I've already begun sending him the things I organized for him.

    Not complicated. UN complicated.

Bristol and Sarah...you guys are outdoing yourselves tonight, seriously. Sarah, will you EVER learn that the more reactionary and defensive you are...the more you're proving my case for me?

Oh, and a little birdie tells me the photo you posted today is quite old, Bristol. Could it be someone spotted you somewhere which would make it very difficult to have taken a photo on the concrete slab of the compound?

If I have "several lies" in my statements, why don't YOU do what I'm doing and send PROOF to Gryphen which backs up what you say? Gryphen, I'd get a frosty beverage and a comfortable chair while you wait on that.

Now, I have a fun event to attend this evening. I will be gone for several hours and I won't give either of you (or you, April/Brooklyn) a second thought. Can you tear YOUR selves away?

LOL, it is actually even stupider than you make it out to be. They're not putting Palin and her crew up there, they're forcing the students out to make way for "visitors" who are coming to see Palin speak! I sure hope they have confirmations of that (and $ put down), because her events have had abysmal attendance lately!

As for Sarah, she's probably gonna live it up at the closest Best Western, cause she's fancy!

The Virginia University of Lynchburg is where the kids are being kicked out of the dorms, not the dorms at Liberty University. Lynchburg U. is a historically Black University. So apparently the white kids at Liberty get to stay in their dorm rooms, but the Black kids at a different college are forced to move out with all their stuff.

  41. I googled, and there are a bunch of hotels the Palin "entourage" could have stayed at instead of raiding the dorms. Frankly, I can't believe they'd be sleeping in the dorms. My hunch is that they just wanted the students OUT for some faux "security" reasons. Sarah is very fragile, ya know.

I think if I were a student in the dorms there I'd declare by squatter rights and just stay in my room until they physically removed me.

If it takes her this long to decide whether she's running for President, imagine how long it takes her to get dressed in the morning. Sheesh. Someone give this lady a t.v. show on the 700 Club so her Tea party fans can realize she's left them already.

    ReplyDelete
  43. OK, then, having just read the story from WSET-TV, Lynchburg,

It's worse than we thought! Students were being housed in hotels that were converted to dorms, and they are being told to clear EVERYTHING out, and to go home for the weekend???? At their expense??

I can't say this is Sarah Palin's fault, although if I were her and I heard about it (yeah, I know......) I would have told the U they must NOT do any such thing!!!

While I've pegged those students as probably nutty bible-whackers, still, that is awful to tell them after settling in for the semester that they now have to pack up everything as though they are going home for the year, pay money for a train ticket home or find somewhere else to hang out for the weekend (what, under a highway overpass?). Officials claim that those that are "unable" to go away for the weekend will be found temporary housing elsewhere. SERIOUSLY? They are still being kicked out of their hotel/dorm room even if they don't have the money for alternate housing?

I really think it's the stupid Jerry Falwell, Jr. guy who is responsible for this stupid decision.

Again, SARAH, now that you KNOW about this, now would be the time to put a STOP to this insanity by voicing your opinion that so many students should NOT be put out like that just for a stupid bunch of speeches of people the like of YOU.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anonymous6:13 AM

I think there's a mis-interpretation here. sarah is not staying in a dorm room.

The campus was over-crowded at the start of the school year, so Liberty U. contracted with a local hotel to rent several blocks of rooms for student housing.

    Fine and dandy.

But, the hotel already had advance booking for these blocks of rooms for people attending this Women's conference.

So, the students have to move out for the weekend for THOSE people to have hotel rooms, which they reserved many months ago, not sarah.

The hotel double-booked the rooms the students were using as dorms.

The question is: Who booked the rooms first - the University or the Women's conference ??

There is NO WAY sarah and her "entourage" are going to sleep in a college dorm room. I'm sure they're staying at a 5-star hotel in downtown Richmond.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous6:14 AM

WTH?! So the students need to go "home" for the weekend? What if they don't want to? What if their parents live far away? What if they need to study for a test instead of spending their time travelling?

I just don't even get this! I mean I know it's the crazy lady, but this makes no sense at all. Hopefully these kids aren't too indoctrinated to throw a good ol college protest, complete with setting couches on fire in the streets.

C'mon kids, stand up for your rights!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Anonymous6:15 AM

    -------------------

They double-booked the rooms for visitors, not for sarah palin.

Still, I have no idea why anyone would pay her to give a speech.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anonymous6:19 AM

Wait, anon 4:23 had given information that makes this even nuttier! The speech is at Liberty, but the displaced students are being booted from the motel that Virginia University of Lynchburg is using for overflow dorm housing!

For what it's worth: Virginia University of Lynchburg is an historically black college located in Lynchburg. It is affiliated with, but not an actual part of Liberty University. The students being displaced are living in a Travel Lodge motel that VUL leases. There are no "luxury" hotels in Lynchburg - the best Mooselini & Co. could get is a Hilton or Courtyard Marriott.

Final note toVirginiaVoter, Tech is in Blacksburg, not Lynchburg.

I don't believe for a minute that the Palins and their entourage are staying in dorms. No way. Not after living luxuriously and staying in grand expensive hotels? This is just some spin by the University to make Sarah and family/entourage look and appear "average" and "rill".

This is an effort to appeal to the common folk and let them know that the Palin clan can rough it when they need to.

You know, usually when there are church conventions, the laity AND clergy all gather to very "rough it" meeting grounds and fast and pray and really try to purge themselves from their carnality for these weekends.

I believe Sarah won't be anywhere near those dorms. She'll suddenly appear there for her speech refreshed-looking and perky, having stayed at some 5-star hotel, while her "security" and "entourage" are the ones using the dorms. This has to be a big scam.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous6:38 AM

The Hotel Roanoke is about an hour away from LU and is the closest thing to a "5 Star" in these parts. If she were *really* smart, she would have demanded to be put up at the Greenbrier or Hot Springs, and flown in for the speechifying. Falwell Aviation (one of Jerry's cousins who just recently passed) has a major presence at the Lynchburg Airport and could easily do the job. Keepin' it all in the family, of course.

Is Sarah doing this to make her bots think she needs to house a new campaign staff because she's announcing at the Women's Conference?

This whole story makes no sense. A paid speaker is going to be put up in a hotel. Period. Why these kids are being asked to leave is beyond reasoning.

If it's an error on the part of the motels that contracted with the University to rent out to students for the year, and accidentally reserved these same rooms for the conference, then the motel is in error and should take care of their guests, putting them up in another hotel and pay the difference. This is what normal people do.

Maybe Barstool and Swallow and the Mama Grifter are up for an honorary degree each so as to legitimize themselves as to having attended college.

It is sad to think of Liberty that promotes itself as a not for profit University would put this amount of effort and expense at the cost of the students family to host the Wasilla Hillbillies.

Unfortunately Liberty is not much better of a school than Patrick Henry University that was featured in the documentary "Gods Next Army" that prepares (if you can call it that I prefer brainwashes) their students to go forth into the political arena and promote the right wing causes of the conservative movement that denies science and promotes hate in a wholesale manner.

Your post made me sad and my heart goes out to you. The cruel truth of who palin is and what she represents is hardly "christian".

Everytime palin wears the Star of David (large size) around her neck, I want to scream.

She wears the cross (large size) around her neck as well - when it suits her audience.

For her to even suggest that she has any empathy or love for the Jewish community or what they went through is beyond offensive.

And it's all for money - she has a cold and empty heart.

I do not follow organized religion but I consider myself spiritual - I hold myself accountable for my actions and I KNOW when I'm saying or doing something out of spite, anger or envy. We reap what we sow.

Palin does not possess a moral compass and she follows the money trail - if the Star of David gets her an extra contribution or appeals to her groupies...so be it.

There is a reason palin is here today. We need to pay attention - just like what happened with McCarthy and the absolute pain, destruction and anguish he caused so many innocent victims before he was finally brought down.

And this blog as well as so many other dedicated seekers of truth, the books written and the relentless pursuit of the truth will bring an end to this ugly period in our political process.

I googled for some more info on this.

    Okay then...

VUL is a historically black Bible college founded in the 1880s. It is really tiny. last spring year they were caught off guard by an influx of students (they take anyone who has graduated high school, and has "good character") - projected to be 162 students, about 100 more than the previous semester and greatly exceeding their dorm capacity. So last January they were looking at discounted rates at local hotels for the 70 or so students they needed to house.

VUL has an articulation agreement with Liberty - allowing students to complete degrees there that are not offered at VUL.

Looks to me like the screw-up here was somewhere in the TravelLodge - VUL agreement, not to mention the school not taking the initiative in finding a place for these kids for a weekend, if indeed the rooms had been blocked out in advance of the dorm agreement.

I wish I could put here what I think/hope will eventually happen to Sarah and Toad. That Palin/Heath klan makes me sick!

This should make national news - Palin is racist and the black folks across the US need to know it. Proof can obtained from Alaska (native/Eskimo population) as well as the blacks in Alaska...

Sarah is about as religious as I am - and I'm not. But, I treat all people w/respect and care. Sarah is a fraud through and through as is being shown so (w/proof sources) in books and a movie recently.

She obviously has a hellish life - would not want to be walking in her shoes.

The Travel Lodge should not be accepting rent for dorm living, if their intention is to kick students out whenever a conference is in town.

Many of these students are from out of state and can not afford to go home for a random weekend.

Personally I hope no one books a room at the Travel Lodge and people fail to show up for the conference to see Sarah Palin.

  98. Sarah has money enough to pay for a good hotel. The students should be able to stay in their rooms. They shouldn't be the ones having to pay to stay somewhere for the weekend.

They wouldn't comp the hotel??? 'MeAgain' has the inside scoop.

'That's why you're kicking seventeen and eighteen year old kids out of their homes so you can get orange self tanner streaks on their sheets, right? Because you know that Fox gravy train is off the rails and soon to crash. It's hilarious that you couldn't get the hotels to comp your stay like you wanted. Guess the name "Palin" isn't quite the golden ticket it was...'

    --------

Read people. It's not the Palins taking over the dorm/hotel, it's the people going to the conference that have booked those rooms in advance.

Just another "MeAgain" moment where he/she doesn't have the facts. There is no proof that the Palins are taking over the motel/dorm rooms. I would guess that the Palins are guests of the Falwells and staying in accommodations much nicer than the Travelodge.

Just another "MeAgain" post extrapolating details from reports already posted.

Once "MeAgain" has an original thought or post or some info not already posted elsewhere or fabricated based upon previously published info, then I'll believe him/her. It seems to me that this person lucked into one of the Palin email streams before redaction and is using a handful of "insider info" to proclaim him or her being the owner of damaging evidence regarding Palin behavior; damaging evidence that has yet to see the light of day except for odd random postings on a dead-thread.

If I end up being wrong, I'll eat crow, but just as Gryphen doesn't link to Shailey Tripp's blog, there is a reason he might not be putting "MeAgain" front, forward and center. Lots of speculation and not much proof.

McGinniss did his fans a big disservice with some sloppy reporting. The school isn't the University of VA, it is the Virginia University of Lynchburg - the two are unrelated. The motel claims that the dorm-deal always included booking conference attendees (not Palin and entourage) for that weekend, and the dean of VUL agrees. Yeah, bad communication with students, but not palin getting rid of dark kids.

Also, the motel reports that 56 students do not have to vacate and VUL claims that it has temporary accommodations for some students. So all the students do not have to go home for several days. And I'm willing to bet that families and churches in the area would help out, too.

It's a mess and very stressful for the students, but hardly the story that McG presented. Too bad, because the response on the blogosphere has spread the false story and makes all of us look like idiots for not factchecking before spreading the misinformation.

And this is not a Liberty U conference - it's traveling around several states: http://www.ewomen.net/

Hey, so long as the white students aren't inconvenienced, everything is OK, right?

  102. How goddamn cheap do you have to be? I live outside of Lynchburg, and there is a perfectly nice Hampton Inn practically on campus.

I guarantee Snowdrift Snookie is not going to be staying at some crummy TravelLodge.

Also, if I had the room, I would be more than happy to have these students as guests at my house.

Sarah wouldn't want to have a bunch of students of color seen in her audience, now, would she?

This whole things stinks, and the spawn of Jerry Falwell is clearly complicit in whitewashing this whole decision.

    Unflippingbeleiveable.

Hope the students left behind protest loudly.

What a virtuous example $arah and her family are for Christian women!

    Mom/Sallie: Pregnant be4 marriage
    $arah Paylin: Pregnant be4 marriage
    Bristol P: Unwed mother
Track P: Wife pregnant be4 marriage
    Paylins: Never seen in church
Paylins: Never give $ to charity

What lying hypocrites. What lousy role models.

The VA students should do a sit in and refuse to leave their dorms and motel rooms for the likes of the Quitter!

I love it---Sarah's tryin' to church it up a bit to counteract the untimely news release of her premarital hookups with a black basketball player.

Not gonna work, Snowflake. The Bible Belters have already seen more than a year's worth of what you're made of, and it ain't Presidential. You're great at selling yourself, but it's not in a classy way.

Oh, and how are those C4P and SarahPAC donations going?

I laughed reading your prediction. I laughed imagining the shrink wrapped One Nation bus taking "off" as it did on the non political family vacation aka education tour.

Thank you for reminding me of the absurd summer bus tour.

I hope Palin runs for you. Don't donate money to her until she annoumces to soften the probable blow.

Anon @ 2:00 "Read people. It's not the Palins taking over the dorm/hotel, it's the people going to the conference that have booked those rooms in advance."

I second that advice! Lots of links here from local news about what is really happening. Motel and VUL agree that the rooms that weekend were available for the conference. Why the students weren't told, who knows? But the rooms aren't for Palin and entourage. They are for people attending the (sold out) conference. And that conference isn't a Liberty U event - the link to the conference has also been provided.

And all students don't have to leave. Some rooms are available, and VUL has some other arrangements for students that do need to leave.

Cripes, guys, does everything have to be about palin? And why are you marching to McGinniss's tune? He's already written that you jump at anything to blame palin. That's a warning for the wise to not assume that just because he writes it, it must be real. Look at his article (before he takes it down). He even names the wrong university. Gotta wonder if he is rofl at you.

What a load of crap!!!!! If I were those kids, I would protest, lock the dorm doors from the inside, baracade myself inside and demand I get to stay in the room I either paid for or my student aid paid for. Screw Sarah she can sleep in her effing bus!
