Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said she “looks forward to regime change” in North Korea while calling on South Korea to help the North when its regime is finally ousted.
“Being under the thumb of a dictator, the first victims of his regime are his own people,” said Palin during a keynote address at the 12th World Knowledge Forum in Seoul, Tuesday.
Palin, who was the vice presidential nominee of the Republican Party in 2008, made the comment in a Q&A session with Ritz Kahn of Al Jazeera English immediately after her speech.
The theme of this year’s forum is “The New Economic Crisis: Reforming Global Leadership & Asia’s Challenge.”
Regarding Palin’s remark, the Seoul government showed a cautious response.
Jo Byoung-jae, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, said flatly “regime change is not a policy goal or the objective of this government.”
He said he is not criticizing Palin or her statement, but just stating as clearly as possible what the North Korea policy of Seoul is, adding, “I think it is safe to say that it is also not the policy goal of the U.S. government either.”
Palin’s statement drew attention as it came at a particularly precarious time for South and North Korean relations amid lingering tension on the Korean Peninsula.

There are any number of books on business etiquette in foreign countries. From what few pictures I have seen, she violated EVERY DAMN POINT. She was inappropriately dressed, not only in color but in style. She wore a pencil skirt that was tight and short, her legs were bare, she had open toed shoes, she crossed her legs while on the podium. YIKES. She is a fool.

I reviewed the customs and etiquette, prepared questions and subjects that could be discussed in social settings, understood manners at table and practiced bowing, exchanging business cards, handshake etiquette etc.
She sat on stage in her white jacket, miniskirt, bare legs, hooker shoes and crossed her legs. BAD FORM. She insulted the audience. All of THEM.
And then her speech. WTF.
How much time has Sec of State Hillary Clinton spent on the phone today trying to fix this mess?
Perhaps she could have at least visited some of the memorials, museums, monuments instead of going shopping with her multiply pregnant nasty daughter.

I am soooooo glad you brought them both up. I was at quite a few of the first meetings at G's house and I thought highly of both women at the time. Now, no respect for either one. That that very thing is in fact, contrary to the essence of the forum and the purpose for which they gather.

That this isn't about politics nor making political statements, but that it's actually the opposite. This is about trade and financial expertise on a global level, the highest-caliber professional and academic knowledge base drawn from institutions around the world.

One of the calumnies directed against Palin is that she had allegedly not studied the issues or traveled very much abroad. This is a calumny because it is not true. Palin has been to India, Israel and Hong Kong in the last several years and has impressed the locals at every stop with her command of the issues facing Asia and the Middle East.
Given these facts, one wonders why her critics persist in depicting her as a naïf, when they are being polite about it?
In her Seoul speech, Palin opined that there will be a woman president someday in America and she looks forward to that day. This is a bitter sweet reminder to her admirers who also look forward to that day and have already put a name and face on that future chief executive.

Is this a joke? Perhaps no one sensible should attend such fora. Something that calls itself World Knowledge Forum, and they invite Dingbat Palin as a keynote speaker? This forum or whatever should not be and cannot be taken seriously then. As for Palin, send her to NK. She can just walk upto the tip of Russian territory and take short swim across to get back home.

At first I thought that this was just some more meaningless drivel coming from Palin, who is still looking for a clue. However, after I read that both Lady Gaga and Lindsey Lohan agree I am now on board with her. Long live Sarah.

In Alaska, Sarah?셲 top priorities included fiscal restraint, limiting the size of government, resource development, education, equitable oil valuation as well as transportation and infrastructure development. Sorry, but I saw the pictures in Hawaii and can say without a doubt that she truly has a "wrinkled old ass". Thankfully, we have never seen similar pictures of any of the male candidates, so can't comment on them.
Funny that you aren't jumping on people calling her stupid or crazy, but take umberage with calling her old and wrinkled.
It is my belief that when a post contains the words "as much as I dislike her" it is a fairy tale troll. I can just see them saying out loud when they type that, "I really don't dislike you, Oh queen of my universe, I just have to say that here".
The Koreans are very modest people, and businessmen and women dress conservatively. Palin looked like a prostitu.....oh, wait.

Scolds them, tells them Americans want them to stop the chaebol; criticizes them for not getting into North Korea; and follows it up by flipping her middle finger at the Chinese for increased military power, promising that America’s gonna kick their asses anyway.

Intentionally representing herself as a U.S. politician and national leader. They called her an "envoy." From the French word, 'to send':
1. A representative of a government who is sent on a special diplomatic mission.
2. A minister plenipotentiary assigned to a foreign embassy, ranking next below the ambassador.
3. A messenger; an agent.
Hooray for Sarah! Thank you for representing ME and MY president out there in the big wide world.
There has to come an end to this. There must BE a time that Sarah can't represent the U.S. government.

Sarah Palin visits South Korea, takes aim at elites

Days after announcing she would not run for president in 2012, Palin said there "will be a woman president of the United States of America, and I look forward to that day", but did not elaborate on why she did not enter the race.
The 2008 vice-presidential candidate told supporters last week she could help the Republican cause more by working to elect others.
In a wide-ranging speech to a forum in Seoul, the conservative commentator accused China of seeking to use its military influence in regional disputes and said she looked forward to the ousting of North Korea's regime.
Palin cited the Arab Spring as proof that new information technology was playing an "enormous role" in spreading cries for freedom.
"Technology means individuals have been empowered in ways they have never been empowered before in our entire history," she told the World Knowledge Forum hosted by Maeil Business Newspaper.
"Technology has taken power away from central authorities and provided individuals with more choices. We are no longer living in a top-down world. Now we are living in a bottom-up world, from entertainment and information to education."
But governments seemed to be going in the opposite direction, with the European Union in Brussels "dictating terms for the member states across the continent", she said.
In China, "where there have been some movements towards reform, the Communist Party still dictates to the Chinese what they can and what they can't do in so many respects", she added.
Even in the United States, the political elite "believe we just can't get along without them", Palin charged.
"Government officials like to push this idea because it gives them the opportunity to pick the economic winners and losers in our system... in other words, it gives them ultimate economic power.
"I just call it crony capitalism."
Palin said China has a reputation for wanting to exercise its military influence to sway territorial disputes in the South China Sea.
In North Korea, the first victims of the regime are the country's people, she said.
"That is so inherently unfair and unjust that I look forward to this entire region being able to rebuild, South Korea being able to assist North Korea when that regime is finally ousted."

Sarah Palin should NEVER AGAIN be allowed to speak in other countries about foreign affairs. She is even MORE ignorant about international affairs than about US affairs, and her ignorance about this country is abysmal.

What she has been doing amounts to sedition because she is just as divisive outside of the country as she is inside it. There is no question that her passport needs to be revoked and her name needs to be on a watch list. She is a sterling example of the homegrown ignorance that Courtland Milloy--a Washington Post columnist--has said is more of a threat to America's well-being than a terroristic attack.
We should have known that, as her star was fading completely after she announced that she wasn't running for president, she would try to find a way to stay relevant at any cost. I hope that the State Department will prevent any more such trips, no matter who she is speaking for. But just as importantly, I hope no other country will invite her as a speaker either.
Can't someone just give her a wheelbarrow full of bananas and sit her in a corner?? FOR GOOD?

You know what is TRULY inherently unfair and unjust? I find it inherently unfair and unjust that a dumb ass like Sarah Palin has wasted as much of this country's valuable time as she has.
It's inherently unfair and unjust that she has trumpeted her "christian!!! family values" and "motherhood" far and wide, while her vulnerable teenagers were left in Wasilla unsupervised; her unmarried daughter has already been knocked up 3 times, the first time at age 15; and poor Trig was dumped off for the relatives to raise when his special needs became a hassle for Sarah.
It's inherently unfair and unjust that the American people were swindled by McCain grasping feebly for his last chance at Presidential glory, apparently willing to put the safety of this country at risk by accepting a VP candidate who clearly was a dozen crayons short of a box.
Do I sound pissed? I am. I'm sick of listening to the self-absorbed pity party ranting of this whiny, grifting, blood libel spewing, violence-loving, gun-toting, climbing-on-the-cross-to-crucify-herself liar, QUITTER, and all-around fucking idiot.
