The state wants more time to release the last 10 months of emails from Sarah Palin's time as Alaska's governor.
Randy Ruaro, deputy chief of staff to current governor Sean Parnell, says he expects it will take at least until Feb. 20 to release the emails from Oct. 1, 2008 to July 26, 2009. Ruaro told the attorney general that without an extension, responding to requests for the emails would "substantially impair" the other functions of the governor's office, as well as the ability to properly and thoroughly review the messages.
In June, the state released 24,199 pages of emails from Palin's first 21 months in office. This was in response to public records requests first made in September 2008, after Palin was chosen as the GOP vice presidential nominee.
You know in the time it has taken these e-mails to get released Palin could have faked given birth to an entire Little League team!
But it might be worth it if they are even a little bit sloppy with those big black permanent markers of theirs, because from Oct. 2008 to July 2009 is where all of the GOOD stuff should be.
This is when Palin was communicating back and forth during the Troopergate investigation, and trying to figure out some way NOT to have to produce Trig's birth certificate, and in a blind panic attempting to hide all of her skeletons before the media started vetting her the way that the McCain campaign completley failed to do.
I found some VERY interesting stuff in that last batch of e-mails, despite the MSMS saying otherwise, and I have little doubt I will find some fascinating nuggets this time around as well.
Of course if Frank Bailey would finally seek the kind of absolution from his sins that he claims to want, by releasing all of those thousands of e-mails still in his possession, we could finally see what the state of Alaska and Sarah Palin have been desperately attempting to hide from the people of America, and the citizens of our fair state.
How about it Frank?
Frank needs a wealthy benefactor to help his decision along.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the insufferable bitch carry a phone onto the stage? How rude is that? How old is she?
ReplyDeleteI found interesting things in the first batch too, that Sarah cares only about family and the superficial of governing. Yes, she got work done, as Frank Bailey defended, but she also seemed to be MOST excited about her kids events and spending time with them.
ReplyDeleteSimply looking at the photos of the half term governor such as this one and knowing nothing about her one would still come to the conclusion she is a classless idiot.
ReplyDeletei'm curious.
ReplyDeletewho is reading and redacting these e-mails? who is learning all the stuff that we'll never see? who knows the Truths?
surely not all of them a palin's loyalists.
there is knowledge being absorbed by folks.....it can't stay hidden forever, can it?
Frank Bailey is going to hell.
ReplyDeleteYou're sure this isn't a picture of Peg Bundy?
ReplyDeleteDid you catch the Blackberry in her sweaty little hands? She's got her handy family photo covered speech notebook, a mic, and a Blackberry? Can she not put it down to do what she's paid for? I can see her in some elected office somewhere, spending all day checking the blogs for mean hypocrites, instead of doing her job. No wonder she needed a City Manager in Wasilla, and hired a truckload of high school buddies to help her and Todd ruin Alaska. The woman is obsessed; with power, money, fame, and the spotlight. So awfully sad for the rest of us who have to put up with her snark.
ReplyDeleteHas the request been granted? I hope not.
ReplyDeleteWhat a flippin' crock the State spews. With all the back & forth during those last months, I wouldn't be a bit surprised that every single e-mail they release is completely redacted. All of them should be tossed in jail for protecting their favorite criminal. It's called Obstruction of Justice folks.
ReplyDeleteMaddening & again, very revealing.
Thanks Gryph! You're da man!
Maybe Parnell is covering his own arse? Alaskans really should clean up the corruption in their state. Knowing how rampant it is, in such a sparsely occupied state surely people want HONEST reps.?
ReplyDelete"I found some VERY interesting stuff in that last batch of e-mails, despite the MSMS saying otherwise, and I have little doubt I will find some fascinating nuggets this time around as well"...Gryphen
ReplyDelete----------------------------
Are you at liberty to share with us any of the fascinating nuggets you have already found and will find when the new batch is released, Gryphen?
They are postponing the unemployment line! How about cutting government waste by throwing these hacks out of their jobs! Wasted use of your tax dollars! Time to recall Parnell and the whole administration for obstruction of justice!!
ReplyDeleteJules Love @ 4:18
ReplyDeleteWhat children's events was she most excited about? Track cutting brake lines on school buses, or Bristol getting drunk on wine coolers and getting laid while camping, or Willow breaking into houses?
Jules Love - Yes, Sarah really ought to be voted "Best Mom of the
ReplyDeleteCentury,' Are you idolators ever gonna wake up? She got things done?
What, exactly? She was in over head from day one & never did catch up & get the hang of the job
as governor, so concentrated on
protecting her fake image with help from people like Frank Bailey.
Sharon TN
A citizen of Alaska needs to sue. Please. They are wasting taxpayer dollars and state time to protect criminal activity by Palin.
ReplyDeleteThat thing on her head simulating
ReplyDelete"hair," ain't no natural growin'
thing.

I think Frank is deluding himself if he thinks that little book is going to absolve him in the eyes of his savior. He can't have it both ways, and leaving sarah with the ability to continue her tour of destruction will not be looked on kindly at Frank's pearly gates. Weak fool.
ReplyDeleteWhy are they protecting Wa$chilla de Vile? How many asses are being covered?
ReplyDeleteSarah hates her kids. Her kids hate Sarah. She can't stand spending time with them. She is MOST excited when she is NOT spending time with them. No, she got NO work done. This is all according to the emails. Family is the last thing sarah cares about. Her family can't stand her. This is all fact. Sorry "Jules" you got some bad info.
ReplyDeleteBased on this its safe to say the alaska's governors office is full of retards. There's no denying it now. It would take a normal governors office 2 weeks to do the same thorough review. What's wrong with alaska government?
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah, Welcome Back!
ReplyDeleteQuick question, Where's Trigs Birth Certificate?
Interesting.
ReplyDeleteStupid's term was shorter than the length of time it's taken to get these emails out...
Will the emails tell us what happened to the ruffles baby?
ReplyDeleteCarrying her photo album (with what looks like old pics) and her very favorite accessory (her phone)..Sarah grow up your not in high school anymore! You can fake a pregnancy so why can't you fake looking professional..you have money, hire someone to teach you..maybe that's impossible since you never learn or listen to anyone.
ReplyDeletetell Frank I will give him $10,000 to give me the whole email dump/complete.
ReplyDeleteIf he agrees do a post and I will contact you with the money.
Quite seriously. But if he witholds even 1, then no deal.
Someone should request all of Parnell's emails since he's been in office.
ReplyDeleteNow, there are sure to be some gems in there.
OMG, did you see pogates new post?! Brad is trying to say a photo of Trig from a TEA PARTY RALLY is from "oct 2008". In the same posts he chides others for not doing their "homework".
ReplyDeletePot, meet kettle. And "duh!"
She may be gone, but certainly is not forgotten. Many of her political appointees continue to wreak havoc within the State government. We may not be paying State income or sales taxes, but these losers are on the payroll, and dedicated to making government dysfunctional for Alaskans.
ReplyDeleteTodd must be really busy blacking out all the incriminating evidence of their crimes.
ReplyDeleteNoticed that Romney is introduced as FORMER Governor Romney, yet the Quitter is constantly referred to as Governor Palin.
ReplyDeleteShe needs to be exposed for what she is so that nobody is introducing her anywhere. She belongs in a straight jacket.
Well, Gryph - dontcha know it takes lots of time to thoroughly scrub every last bit of truth from those emails? The citizens of Alaska should file a class action lawsuit against the State of Alaska for covering up Sarah Palin's crimes.
ReplyDeleteAnd Shailey Tripp should file a lawsuit for violation of her civil rughts. The truth of Troopergate, the hoax, and Todd's defacto governship of Alaska needs to be exposed - and that's why it's taking so long.
The review of the emails should be done by an independent review board - not the Palin henchman. Frank Bailey has a lot at stake, too - his own activities at the behest of his Queen could probably land him in criminal court, too.
Does Palin have an observer at the email reads and is he/her paid by SarahPAC? Might be Palin is skimming on the hourly fee for the observer.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about leaving your Blackberry backstage is that she might get a message someone can look at while she's onstage. Lord knows what comes into her phone. Anyone look for porn there lately? Or maybe she's pulling a Weiner and is waiting for responses.
ReplyDeleteAmen. I'm glad Frank released his book, but I always felt like he holding back information that would put him in a bad light. Of course Palin had someone else do her "dirty" work and implicate themselves. Those bonds of guilt and shame are part of her manipulation.
ReplyDeleteWell well well I see the politicalgates post has already started evolving now that prof. Studious is catching his big mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI read it with an open mind, truly. But not only do I not see anything in those ear photos which could be definitive one way or the other, the photo of Trig from 10/2010 was captioned as 10/2008 until just a second ago.
If someone can't tell the difference between a six month old (supposedly) and a 2-3 year old, I am not inclined to think they are the be all end all when discussing the appearance of babies.
Too bad, fo sho. I really thought Brad was one of the good guys.
Who has to grant this permission? If you ask me, I say no, but I am thinking we are not being asked.
ReplyDeleteHow stupid this is. Mudflats makes a very good point that this could, and should, have been farmed out to professionals and would have been done a long long time ago.
Such things makes the state of Alaska look bad and makes you realize that claiming to be governor of such a backward state is not a big recommendation for any other job.
Amazing that Scharlott is so antagonistic and arrogant. Because he is a Professor of journalism, he trumps medical professionals? I have not found his works on matters Palin to be that well written, attentive to details or persuasive.
ReplyDeleteNow he chooses to wage war using misidentified photos, comparing right ear to left ear and defending these errors by stating the ears are bilateral and that he used a photo caption date.
Professor, what the hell does that even mean? The ears are bilateral...well, the boy has ears on each side of his head. Never any disagreement on that. And as an investigative journalist, do you not do any fact checking --- you presented a sloppy and insulting post on another site. That does not further your credibility or integrity.
The journalism Professor is now making claims in a very insulting manner. Well Professor, I am a medical professional and disagree with your entire hypothesis.
Seems that the Professor is trying to interfere with a 'messy' finding that he is unwilling and incapable of investigating. Therefore there must be a simple answer. Gee Professor, are you writing a book?
Perhaps you should review the findings in the posts here at IM and at Laura's blog. Several medical professionals have weighed in on not only the ear deformity, but infant size, age, findings of DS, etc.
Jules Love,
ReplyDeleteYeah just like the time she spent with Trig in the baby jogger, you know the one they borrowed for a photo shoot so Scarah could pretend she spends quality time with her children, as discussed in that first batch of e-mails...
Seriously O/T: I hope I'm not too late with this very unexpected message. While I've always been skeptical, perhaps contemptuous would be a better word, of the magical thinking and laughable mythology of mainstream (and lamestream, also, too) religion, I have in the last 12 hours undergone what can only be considered a miraculous conversion.
ReplyDeleteWhile researching material for a mocking rebuke of Harold Camping's tiresome prediction of the end of the world TODAY, I had occasion to run some of his numerological biblical gibberish on my old HP45 programmable calculator. And, folks, I'm astonished to be saying this, but THIS TIME he's NAILED it!!! Today REALLY is the end of the world!
Now, I realize he predicted this once before and was made to look the doddering foolish old man when the Rapture didnt occur on May 21. AND I realize his failed prediction of the same event in 1994 made him look a somewhat younger but still humiliatingly foolish old man. But THIS time, it's for real!
I've been in a frenzy since I discovered this imminent eschatological truth and I just wanted to take a few minutes here to say goodbye to everyone.
IM is awesome. The comments are remarkably insightful and inciteful (gotta luv dem stoopid trolls) and hopefully it will continue in some form in the Afterlife. Perhaps with a different IP address, Gryphen? Hard to know...
Anyway, I'm packing light. I've got my iPod with all my music and some ebooks and podcasts I enjoy. I'm taking my laptop but the keyboard has been a little skitchy lately so I'll probably upgrade later on. (doG knows, I'll have the time!) I hope they have 110V power where Im going or at least an adequate supply of power adapters. I'm also taking mostly lightweight moisture wicking fabrics because, frankly, Im probably going to spend eternity in Hell and who knows how often I'll be able to do laundry.
I'm taking a bunch of Clif bars in my backpack but I figure, even in Hell, they have to feed us, right?
well, I hear a a rumbling in the background which is either the Apocalypse slowing moving across the planet according to the time zones (eye roll) or some large construction vehicle doing nearby roadwork so I better sign off.
I hope you all have a super great eternity. Remember, in the afterlife, there's ALWAYS a new tomorrow, um... tomorrow!
poster at 7:14
ReplyDelete"Well Professor, I am a medical professional and disagree with your entire hypothesis."
Sorry, but running the floor buffer at the local clinic does not make you a medical professional. Give your real name and background if you want to be believed. Prof Sharlott is willing to put his name where his claims are. To honest refute what he says, you must do the same.
hey friends,
ReplyDeleteI work in IT security and networking and we have a saying that I'm betting Granny Grifter has never heard in her whole life:
Never write or email when you can speak
Never speak when you can nod
Never nod when you can wink
I tell our clients (including fortune 250 execs) that when you write an email, just imagine reading that out loud to a packed court room.
That sometimes get their attention.
I know for sure that Ms Looney tunes Paylin never took that advice, and the emails that were redacted are deadly incriminating,
Maybe if we're lucky, they'll miss some of the good ones too.
Where did you find THAT image?!?! It has to be about the worst ever!
ReplyDeleteWhat is that THING on her head?
Yeah, right, Screech is SO concerned about her family....
This is total lunacy. I know a state, twice the population of Alaska, that was completely audited. I cannot go into particulars, but every archived piece of data for ten years, each office of the state government, including all emails were retrieved, reproduced, sealed and delivered by a staff of 20 state employees in three weeks.
ReplyDeleteIt was for a different reason and the FOIA wasn't an issue, but technology has advanced since ten years when this took place.
Alaska can't retrieve and print ONE person's email accounts for three years?
And Frank still carries a torch for Sarah, he sold Alaska out and profited from it. I doubt he has a conscience.
"Ruaro told the attorney general that without an extension, responding to requests for the emails would "substantially impair" the other functions of the governor's office, as well as the ability to properly and thoroughly review the messages."
ReplyDeleteWell thank God the State isn't undergoing some serious deficit problems, natural disasters and/or a continuing energy crisis, it sounds like our last two Governor's and their Administration can't seem to walk and chew gum at the same time.
Want to grind the State of Alaska to a halt? File an ethics complaint.
@7:14
ReplyDeleteI found him to be arrogant and unable to accept any disagreement when we were examining that Greta photo of SP running. He posted that it was NOT photoshopped, and HE was an expert, and we should go look at something else. Well, I certainly am not an expert on Photoshop, but I've been using it since Version 4. After the photo was picked apart by bloggers and posters, he went silent. I agree with everything you said...and will add that he's also very condescending.
JanG
Any chance that MeAgain could make some of these emails available to Gryphen? Or us?
ReplyDeleteSarah looks like shit in that pic.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what to make of B. Scharlott. He claims the Chuck Heath photo with baby on 4/18/8 is real because it was taken by KTUU-TV.
ReplyDeleteI asked him about the picture of Levi with Trig (allegedly). Was that also taken by KTUU-TV??? His answer was that photo was taken by Mercede. So apparently, Mercede was also at the hospital minutes after TriG was born......
I don't believe that.
It takes 18 months to read 10 months of emails? Are they reading all of the LLBean ads and cross checking them with Eddie Bauer? and then double checking with Lands End?
ReplyDeleteeven if she spent 8 hours a day writing them, it can't take 13 hours a day to READ them.
Anon 8:30 said Are they reading all of the LLBean ads and cross checking them with Eddie Bauer?
ReplyDeleteI need a "Like" button :)
Bailey needs to “go Rogue” & release his emails – damn the consequences. I’m sure he’s hiding many things he had to do for the Palin’s that wouldn’t pass the smell test and could land them all in jail. He sure didn’t report honestly about Troopergate in the book. What else is he concealing?
ReplyDeleteAll I can say about the State’s latest extension request is HORSE PUCKY! Isn’t there a time limit on the release of documentation? Does an extension have to be granted without consequences? Inquiring minds want to know.
I was born in Anchorage in 1962. My father, an Air Force SMSGT, was stationed there. Our family fell in love with Alaska and never missed an opportunity to return to visit after my Dad retired from the military. So I have closely watched the Palin saga play out with dismay and disgust.
ReplyDeleteIt is sickening that the Governor's office has delayed, delayed, and delayed releasing Palin's emails with at least fifteen extension requests. How can they continue to get away with this? They are either grossly incompetent or incredibly corrupt. I believe they are both ( with a generous side of arrogance thrown in).
Alaskans deserve so much better than the obfuscations Gov. Parnell and his staff are engaged in to protect themselves and Sarah Palin.
Yeah, I was going to say O/T but I just saw that post over there too, about Ruffles. (I just check in occasionally because I am interested in the observable behavior patterns there, given past history. They will feature someday in the final story, if we can ever get to the truth!)
ReplyDeleteBack to the Ruffles thing, in the most basic, gut sense - why would a family that barely tends to the needs of the children and certainly has shown a terrible indifference to the special needs of its youngest member - have followed through on reconstructive surgery of a deformed ear?
The fact that this guy, a) feels the need to keep telling us he's a PhD - so what? and b) posted that where he posted it.....ALL of my suspicious antennae are up, up, up.
Fishy. Absolutely. That line about doing one's homework, a clear swipe at Gryphen, was all I needed to read, also. This Scharlott, to whom I never really paid much attention before, is completely untrustworthy, imo.
What's going on here? This will make one helluva suspense novel someday, Gryphen.
And the timing of everything is just so freaking suspicious, too. Sarah says she isn't running. Regina pulls back. Gryphen posts about that other child. Those guys say things like "Sarah's downfall", as if she is done, and now host a posting like this tripe from Scharlott. Weird. (My Regina interest does not imply anything bad about her; I just sort of wonder if she had a heads up that some stuff was gonna fly at this particular moment and she wanted no part of it. I love her, regardless.)

ReplyDeleteOMG, did you see pogates new post?! Brad is trying to say a photo of Trig from a TEA PARTY RALLY is from "oct 2008". In the same posts he chides others for not doing their "homework".
Pot, meet kettle. And "duh!"
6:35 AM
-------------------------
That whole post is ridiculous as initially he showed photos of TWO RIGHT EARS from the infant, and then used the LEFT EAR of the infant to illustrate how the ear shape and appearance had changed, either through surgery or through the aging process.
Of course the ear looked different; it was a different ear!
He was initially basing his argument on two totally different ears! He then provided a photo of the right ear on the older infant. This guy is anything but scientific, but really, he's a journalism professor, and not a biology professor, so it's to be expected.
However, he has deemed himself "correct and all knowing" and has himself laid to rest the mystery of Ruffles, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Extreme hubris exhibited by the good professor, methinks.
Well at the very least it shows that Kathleen and Patrick hold huge grudges, no matter how often they claim otherwise. Gryphen predicted in that post that people could come after his credibility immediately, people who purport to be on "our side".
ReplyDeleteDid you see the final line on that posting, just after Sarah said she wasn't running?
He said something like, there's a lot of money to be made on a book about Sarah, or this, or babygate....I don't want to go back and check exactly what it was but it was about making money.
I frankly don't think their involvement is solely about finding a way to profit, however. I have always felt it was something far worse, something that figures in the larger story to which Gryphen has alluded recently.
The bigger American political story is what all kinds of people are trying to cover up, never mind Sarah and her personal problems.
Yes, OzMud hit that whole thing OUT OF THE PARK. So great her work (w/posters' help) is part of the record now, another glaring example of what a sociopathic liar Sarah Palin is. (We weren't insisting she wasn't there, obviously she was - we were questioning the extent of her participation claims.) That photo has more problems in it than we could count! Crazy number of anomalies.
ReplyDeleteWho is this Scharlott working for, honestly? Didn't that interesting Laura Novak host him? Did she misjudge him or does it seem like she is also not so trustworthy? I have liked what I have seen of her stuff.
When did this Brad hit the scene? From the beginning or more recently?
Gryphen, you are like this yoda character in the middle of the storm, haha! Just endure, and we will eventually get to the bottom of this. People keep trying to bring you down but I think they completely underestimate you.
Bailey is a douche and has no more integrity than pond scum. He will never release the emails to bring his goddess down.
ReplyDeleteThis email release will be much more redacted than the last, and will most likely be 95% black marker. And the creeps will get away with it, because the entire state government is corrupt to the bone.
Okay, could Frank Bailey please explain to me how he can consider himself to be a "Christian" and yet continue to condone the activities and lies of Sarah Palin when he could expose and perhaps put a stop to it? This kind of hypocrisy is why fewer and fewer real thinking people are attending churches these days. People like Sarah and Frank show that they really don't care about honesty and truth and just mouth the words to make themselves look good.
ReplyDeleteFrank...I seriously think if you want to get to heaven, you had better come clean. You have to know that Sarah would sell your soul to the devil if it would "progress" her in any way.
Frank would make a hell of a lot more $$ by writing a new book and including all of Sarah's emails (he holds) vs what he did on the book already published.
ReplyDeleteJeanne at Mudflats has read all of the emails too as one of the authors of Franks' book. It must be so difficult keeping ones mouth shut.
The Republican party in Alaska is as corrupt as can be and during the next election cycle, voters in Alaska need to get as many as possible (of them) out of office.
Pay attention for whom you vote Alaskans!
anon@ 10:22
ReplyDeleteAnd now Laura Novak has pulled back too.
Where is Wikileaks when you need them?
ReplyDeleteM from MD
JMO, but I don't think that Brad was taking a swipe at Gryphen at all. I agree that Brad is overly sensitive to criticism at times. Also, too, I believe that Brad has made some errors in his work on occasion, primarily in an effort to get his work out more timely so it will have the optimal effect.
ReplyDeleteBut, based on my own participation in communications with Brad, I have no doubt that he is one of the good guys on the Babygates beat. He has certainly put in the hours on the project, and has had his own name and professional reputation on the line as he has done so. Again, this is my opinion, but I don't think that Brad deserves to be maligned for posting articles at other sites, regardless of the relationship of the sites owner to Gryphen or anyone else. I've never seen where Brad has criticized any of the bloggers in this community... quite to the contrary, actually. And since her name was mentioned, also, too, Laura Novak has only been supportive of all of the bloggers in the community as well, and I would have no qualms whatsoever about putting her in the "good guy/girl" category. Laura was late to the show compared to many of the "old-timers", but she has brought her own unique touches that have definitely been a plus to our efforts. Plus, I have observed directly that she has gone to great lengths to be professional and courteous to bloggers and readers alike. So let's be fair and give credit where it is due to each of the bloggers, okay?
In a nutshell, what I am asking is that those "on our side" to please not try to sow discord among the bloggers and their readers who have put their names and reputations on the line along with their work. No one is perfect, for damn sure, but I don't see where anyone purports to be. Sure, no one likes to bust their ass working on a project and then be nit-picked, but since the details are so important in the analysis of Babygate, it is to be expected, and the blogger should expect to be corrected whenever they get some of the "known knowns" wrong, whether it is Brad, Gryphen or whomever.
Personally, I'm appreciative to each of the players for their contributions to where we are today, and I hope that the process will continue until Sarah is so humiliated that she will refuse all public appearances. Yeah, yeah, I know that she has no self-awareness and all that, but still that's my goal in the long run.
In the meantime, let's remember that we have somewhat of a common goal, and not let the pettiness infiltrate our ranks.
Gryph, we appreciate you, man, but it's too early for you to stop and take a bow. This ride ain't over just yet.
Executive privilege in AK is a joke as it has everything to do with covering up anything that might embarrass the executive. The AK legislature needs to retroactively redefine it or a judge needs to call existing law unconstitutional.
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't forget that the released and to-be-released emails don't include private account to private account correspondence. Figure out how to get those and you'll get to the heart of the ex-halfterm-governor's shenanigans.
Frank Bailey is full of it. That book he "wrote" - it had NOTHING to do with any kind of Coming to Jesus moment.
ReplyDeleteAs more time goes by and as more information comes to light, I have become convinced that the whole idea for the book was a CYA. Not only for Bailey, himself, but for the Palin's and Parnell as well.
Unfortunately, Deavon and her other co-author took the bait like a starved lingcod and didn't look farther than that shiny lure of a published "tell-all" book and didn't see the deadly hook and barb attached. I truly hope that they will not suffer it coming back to bite them in the ass in the future.
If Bailey was so concerned about his integrity, his ethical obligations to the people of this state, and his immortal soul, he would have released ALL the emails into a public forum. Instead he wrote a book that offers cover for him and his cronies re the trooper-gate scandal and others - for profit (yes, i know he said he would donate any profit to charity). And who did he use to "help" write it? A blogger that was known to be anti-Palin. People who were not experienced, published authors.
Yep, those emails are extremely smelly. But unfortunately, I think the best we can hope for, outside of some significant politically powerful assistance, is to have these corrupt bastards' future political careers completely trashed a la Ben Stevens. We all know Benny Boy is a crook. So far he's been able to keep himself out of the orange jumpsuit, but at least he'll never be a political force in this state again.
Just a tad O/T, but any update on "Fred?"
ReplyDeleteWell, saying Gryphen is taking a bow precipitously is not exactly courteous, but whatever.
ReplyDeleteI see that Politicalgaters have already expressed some differences with Brad's conclusions, so that's something anyway.
Brad definitely was taking swipes at someone if we're gonna be honest here. Editors'/Blog hosts' prerogative to publish his piece, I guess.
(Differences among blogs/bloggers are also there no matter how much we pretend to ignore them. Too much history and mysterious behavior, for me.)
Um, disregard most of my previous post re Brad's comments on Pogates. I am obviously out of the loop on the current state of discussions and sentiments between Brad and Gryph, and I'll let Brad's own comments speak for his opinion of the situation.
ReplyDeleteI haven't made my mind up on the "two-Trig" ruffled ear theory yet, and this part of the babygate story, like the other parts, is continually evolving as new information and analysis emerges.
What is that on her head? Any date for this photo?
ReplyDeleteAudrey is gone, then Bree, then Regina, now Laura. Please hang in, Jesse. Brad is a little off track, but he may get back. That baby held by Sally and Chuck is not a premie newborn.
ReplyDeleteTo me there is Ruffles, Batwing ear Trig, Trig with very HORIZONTAL ears which JUT OUT from his head horizontally, and "Trig with perfectly round ears."
ReplyDeleteI don't think that all FOUR types of ears can be the same child because some of the surgeries needed to correct those problems (specifically the batwing shape and the ruffles shape) would not be done on the same person. They are two different types of ear correction.
You can correct ears jutting out horizontally from the head -- it's called "pinning" the ears and a lot of movie stars have this done, mostly men since they wear their hair so short. Brad Pitt I believe was one star who clearly had this done if you look at early photos.
But correctly the severe "ruffles' type of deformity involves one set of surgical corrections....correcting the angular, almost pointed, batwing shape would not be responsive to the same type of surgery.
How many Trigs? How many surgeries?
Definitely more than are dreamt of in some certain professor's philosophies.....
Jesse-
ReplyDeleteRemember, after holding off for as long as he could, eventually, FDR had to open up the second front.
Gryphen there is some weird stuff going on; I know you know that. New alliances seem to be cropping up, new framing of (or attempts at controlling) the conversation is taking place - spontaneously, and inexplicably. This is not the first time, imo.
ReplyDeleteApparently now some theories are acceptable and some must be discarded? Hmmm. Didn't know we were so far along in our speculation :-).
Timing is everything, and your post about Tank and the possible other child seems to have sparked this response, imo. It took a few weeks, but -
It blows my mind, how manipulative the efforts. Scary.
I'm with you Gryphen. I trust you completely, regardless of the epithets thrown your way.
Did you know you are obligated to PROVE there are two babies, or the theory is false? Some scientific method.
I will keep an open mind, as I always have. Works better that way.
It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. In some ways, what gets posted/posited will show us what we actually need to look at, instead.
What I don't get is that there is this false choice being presented.
ReplyDeleteIf the ruffled ear baby doesn't point to their being two (or more) babies in this whole Palin saga, then the baby must be Trig, who then must have gone through reconstructive surgery. Why would the family have done that? Do the ruffles indicate hearing loss? Is it just cosmetic?
And so the baby must be Trig because we can't prove for sure the baby isn't Trig?
What's that all about? The pictures presented are of babies possibly at very different ages and stages of development, imo. Even two months can change a baby's appearance quite a bit.
There are so many infants and babies and children in this family, some disclosed and some not so much.
Why the artificial ultimatum, and why now?
If Brad's revelations regarding the ears was so earth-shattering then he should have used that info to further progress his own blog, instead of using another blog to highlight his "research". Why should he bother to have a blog if he is not going to use it to highlight his own hypotheses?
ReplyDeletePo'gates picked it up because it drives traffic their way, but probably not the traffic that they want. This info was so far out of left field that no one else would touch it, but they did, and now they are left looking like tin-foil hatters by letting this guy guest post there.
Fuck Frank.
ReplyDeleteThe statements of martyr-ish victimization are quite fascinating, also. I feel sorry for some folks who follow certain other bloggers, because they of course want to trust them. They are uncomfortable now, though, because this Scharlott stuff is so questionable. (Believe me, if it were solid I would be fine to embrace it and move forward. I just don't happen to think it is.) It amuses me that the troops are getting out of hand, also, because this is exactly how things developed at Regina's before she put her foot down.
ReplyDeleteI feel this publishing of the Ruffles is Trig piece is to set up a particular theory about Sarah's faked pregnancy. They need there to be only one baby to fit in with the story they support/want to push.
There are 3 more posts to come about which evidence is supposedly worth pursuing and which must be thrown out so we don't go down blind alleys. Get the popcorn and no matter what, think outside the box and keep your wits about you.
If people think it's only about boosting traffic, that's something else entirely.
Okay, so I completely missed this - Laura Novak now says she is leaving the whole Palin faked pregnancy thing and moving on to other things in her life. She says if Palin does something wild and crazy she will blog about her, but otherwise no. Says she is sitting on some things and not sharing them, but she feels it's for the best. I guess the fact Sarah says she's not running is the thinking behind her decision to stop her Palin writing?
ReplyDeleteWTF with this timing???? I think she posted that yesterday, 9/21.
I tell you, I think some people involved in pursuing this story are for real, and certain people are not. I am not saying she's not for real, to be clear. I am saying that when certain people get involved with others, over time and behind the scenes, sometimes those others get the crap scared out of them somehow or they decide it's not worth it or they back away. It's a pattern now.
I can easily understand burnout, etc, but to make these big statements about future intention and/or blog change, it's like saying, "leave me out of it", or "go away".
Just as Gryphen has said, this is the difficult part and not for the faint of heart. I have the luxury of being a goofy person who posts thoughts, but someone like Gryphen is truly having to stay the course here. I like your silence on all of this right now, Gryphen. Speaks volumes.
Just please don't say you won't cover the Sarah faked pregnancy story anymore, ok? As you have said, it's not the only thing you're interested in, so there's plenty to keep you busy on your blog while the story continues.
Oops...got my dates wrong. Need more coffee. Still, even this past month there has been a lot of repositioning on Sarah Palin coverage, and for me not just because of her announcement.
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous 6:51, let me just say "Bingo!"
ReplyDelete12:28 PM - "Where is Wikileaks when you need them?"
ReplyDeleteExactly.
Maybe Sarah was worried that he HAD Alaska's emails and that's why she said she thought he should be killed.
The emails belong to the State of Alaska. Not Frank Bailey. Not Sarah Palin. Not Sean Parnell. It's very clear. That's what disclosure laws and transparency in government is all about.
I don't have any idea how constituents hold state government responsible and accountable, except outside of class-action lawsuit and public official recall process.
What bothers me most, and seems to me to be biggest silent corruption, is the role of the legislature.
We have generic systems of bilateral government to provide checks and balance. The legislature is a body of citizen-elected representatives IN state administration. They exist to be the voice of the people, directly chosen by each district in the state, by population.
That's why they are there. THEY ARE the check and balance. That's their job.
And yet, they do nothing. They concentrate hours and weeks of focused time on selecting the marmot as a state animal and debating the merits of designating days for causes.
Their JOB is to get hands dirty by mixing it up with the administration as the voice of constituents.
There were many other compelling issues happening in Alaska between 2006 and 2009, aside from what caught the fancy of media for coverage.
ReplyDeleteConcerns were brought to the administration by means of email - through known email addresses as well as the governor's automated webpage-based form.
A group of Alaskans who KNOW what was emailed, authors of emails, decided to test to see how reliable these "releases" are. They have searched the released databases with keywords of those issues. We wanted to take the opportunity to see how our issues were dealt with and what Sarah Palin's responses were, internally in her administration.
Those emails are simply not there. Lots of 'em. On all kinds of compelling important issues brought to the attention of the governor and staff. NOT THERE. ABSENT.
What does that mean? I don't know. Existing State of Alaska employees decide what was "important" and pertinent, and what was not?
It's all about Sarah, not really about public disclosure?
WHO are the people making these decisions?
What it means is that state emails were not really released. And that's why it's taking so long. Every single one must be vetted, and staff is deciding what to release. That's inconsistent with disclosure laws and misuse of state employees. The emails are NOT being "redacted" for privileged and proprietary business information. It's nothing more than PR management for Sarah Palin (who doesn't have much to lose at this point) and Sean Parnell (who DOES have something to lose).
This is what she said on Fox News:
"I think every rock in the Palin household that could ever be kicked over and uncovered anything, it's already been kicked over."
Sarah does not understand the process or reason for public disclosure of government activity. She thinks it's personal and about her celebrity. Nothing more than paparazzi chasing personal information about glamorous rockstars. She thinks it's about HER.
"I don't think there's anything private in our family now. A lot of those emails obviously weren't meant for public consumption. They are between staff members. They're probably between family members."
Again revealing her shocking lack of understanding of due process and procedures in government offices. ALL OF EVERYTHING IS MEANT FOR PUBLIC CONSUMPTION AND DISCLOSURE ON REQUEST.
"Family" isn't supposed to be engaging in the running of the state and communicating privately with staff about state business.
"They'll never truly know what the context of each one of the emails was, or each one of the issues were that I was working on that day, or in that time period."
Yes, constituents WILL know what the issues were and what the governor was working on. And if constituents DON'T know, they are allowed to find out.
It's patently clear that this woman genuinely did not understand the job of governor and what the role is.
So now folks are speculating that perhaps Sarah did have Trig after all.
ReplyDeleteThat's how confused and convoluted things have become, and perhaps that's the idea.
I posted this yesterday at Brad's blog:
ReplyDelete"What I would like to understand is how this thesis advances the goal of exposing the hoax known as BABYGATE?
What I see is a questionable formulation presented with the intent to create conflict amongst bloggers and move the discussion in a non-fruitful direction.
The child that has been presented to the public as Trig is more than one person. Although I don't like these nicknames, for lack of a decent link at hand, "Batwing" Trig is simply NOT "Roundear" Trig. They are two different children.
In addition, now you, Brad, have happily presented us with some information supporting the idea that there was a life-like doll used as well. Many of us have thought that for a while.
So, whether or not Ruffles had surgery does not seem to be a critical issue. This is all separate and apart from the many questions that must be posed about this new thesis.
One of the Med-Surg sites that you link to states that if the surgery is not done when the baby is one week old, the success rate drops to below 50%. I don't think Ruffles was operated on when he was a week old - do you Brad?
I think you have taken a wrong turn somewhere Brad. I hope you dropped some breadcrumbs for yourself to get back on track."

8:02..who is speculating that Sarah is the birth mother? I've seen all the blogs and haven't come across that speculation. Please, where have you seen this?
ReplyDeleteI question if anyone is at "work" at all in that office. Are they abusing their leave privileges? If they are then we must deal with them by the book. Just because they are cronies doesn't mean personnel rules don't apply to them. Are they even at work? How many days off each. They must not be regularly working on this publicly funded project. Somebody please check and see if anyone is even at work.
ReplyDeleteYoohoo...Trance-parent Checkbook and Everything....Are you home? Or...not. If not stop hiding things.
ReplyDeleteDear Greased Lighting: Please shine a light on the corruption in this place. Thanx.
ReplyDelete@ 1:07, there are two or three comments on Politicalgates where people are saying they are considering the possibility again. Perhaps I misread or misunderstood, but I believe that may be why Kathleen felt it necessary to say she and P do not believe Sarah to be Trig's birth mother.
