Breaking news! Mary Ann Morgan, associate of accused domestic terrorist Schaeffer Cox arrested in Fairbanks. Update from the Fairbanks NewsMiner and Alaska Dispatch.

Schaeffer Cox and his pals play dress up.
I received a tip the other day stating that Mary Ann Morgan had been arrested on weapons charges the other day.

You can see that she was in court today for her first appearance before Judge Oravec:

9:00 AM Judge Oravec
Fairbanks MJ Courtroom
USA vs.MARY ANN MORGAN
(Steve Skrocki)* (FPD-as Friend of the Court)*
INITIAL APPEARANCE ON COMPLAINT

Apparently Morgan is a member in good standing among the Alaska Militia members and was one of the individuals present when Schaeffer put himself on trial in that Denny's Restaurant in Fairbanks. You remember, the one where he had his Peacemaker's militia buddies find him not guilty, right before the Feds demonstrated just how much legal standing a fake trial held in the home of the Grand Slam breakfast had in the world of law enforcement.

Mary Ann is a frequent poster on Norm Coleman's Alaska Militia forums, and as you can see from this comment, has been itching for a run in with the local police for quite some time:

I had a couple of local harassers (cops) stop me earlier this summer, they did so totally against the Constitution as well as many laws. I refused to roll my window down until they threatened to break it with their clubs. (find that law!) then when they gave me their filthy ticket, my hand was over the window, the male started to draw his gun and demanded I put my hand back inside, I refused until he told me why I had to put my hand back inside, "because I was jeopardising their safety".... I can hardly wait to see how that one comes out in court!

Several of us have repeatedly gone to the doors of the court house and asked for Constitutional entry. We have been denied every time. As long as we give up our papers and person to an unreasonable search we can go in. We refuses. One of those troopers doing door guard duty told us it is our duty to give up our rights.

We reminded him of our duty to overthrow an unconstitutional tyrannical government, he said he hopes he never has to stop us in his patrol car. You know, that really sounded like a threat to me.

The hard part of going to court is that the court system is run by the British Accredited Registery. They don't follow the Constitution. I stood in a court room a few weeks back while they processed about 20 people. I was flat disqusted. With just the bail amounts alone they accumulated close to $32,000. That was just one day. The court system is nothing more than a way to make money. If truth was being established and followed, would you have to pay for truth?

I was feeling a whole lot of lost until I started meeting militia members. Others who are like minded and courageous, who can think for themselves and who challenge the govts BS. I cant help but wonder how my life would have been better if I had known militia members in my earlier years!

Mary

Oooh, isn't SHE a sweetheart!

Well apparently now Mary Ann can get a real good sense of how her life is better since she started hanging out with the anti-government militia types and swallowing their sovereign citizen BS.

Unless of course by "better" she did NOT mean being arrested, strip searched, and thrown in a tiny cell with bars on the windows.

From what I understand even more of Schaeffer Cox's militia pals might soon be following in their fearless leaders footsteps. Just like poor crazy Mary Ann Morgan.

By the way, it looks like Schaeffer's trial will be held here in Anchorage, which means I will get a front row seat to what should be a fascinating trial. I have no doubt Cox and his buddies will put on quite a show. Not a lot of sanity, but still quite a show.

Update: Here are more details from the NewsMiner:

A Kenai militia activist and defender of Schaeffer Cox is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm for allegedly carrying a handgun last week at the Alaska Highway border crossing into Canada.

Mary Morgan, 53, declared she had a firearm to a Canadian Border Patrol officer Thursday. A search revealed a .32-caliber Beretta, according to a charging document against her. Morgan is not allowed to carry a handgun because she was convicted of interfering with a child custody agreement in 2001. She finished her probation for that offense in 2003.

As I hinted at before it appears that Morgan may have WANTED to be arrested by the Feds for some reason.

You know I don't think Mary Ann's elevator goes all the way to the top floor, if you get my drift.

Update 2: The Alaska Dispatch has a little bit more.

  1. I've been trying to figure out how to pronounce this new word. “I was flat disqusted.”

“As long as we give up our papers and person to an unreasonable search we can go in. We refuses.” They are not interested in your papers, it’s the guns, bombs, and knives they care about. Why do you care if they look at a bunch of papers. I used to bring stacks of books and papers into the courthouse to take to the law library, they don't read them.

“With just the bail amounts alone they accumulated close to $32,00.” Since she thinks she is a constitution expert and all one would think she would know bail money is returned, even if the defendant is found guilty. Oh, sure they have all their fees and inflated illogical restitution later, but that bail money is returned.

Wish I would have known about the the court system at Denny's before I had to get involved with the one in Nome. Of course the judges are asshats in both places.

Wow. And to think that if McCain's people had done five minutes of research into the Palin's connection with these
'anti-citizens,' the lower 48 would only know Sarah as a one-term Governor of Alaska. If only.

She actually makes some salient points in her posts. Where I veer sharply away from her crowd is their idea that violence is the answer to change things, and their ideal of the perfect country. Which would be suffocatingly oppressive for anyone who they didn't view as "one of them." I can tell you there wouldn't be any General Assemblies to raise consensus!

Are you sure her name isn't Mary Resentment About Everything Morgan?

If you don't like the law, work to change it because if you violate it, you are considered a scofflaw.

Laws are made exactly for people like this who believe they can do anything they like without repercussions.

Most of these people are big on their perceived rights and not so much about yours.

Damn, that's a good inside joke; too bad no one at work will get it.

Southern Law Poverty Center is a civil rights non-profit established in the early 70s. I discovered them a few years ago. It is one of the organizations that I send an annual donation to.

You can click on any state to find hate groups they monitor. When you scroll to Alaska, there aren't any. Hmm, maybe we should send them an email to follow the Cox debacle.

Gryphen, your link to the Nov 2nd court calendar doesn't show a Mary Ann Morgan appearance.

I'm a little confused about charges in these cases. If this was a border issue, the troopers out of Tok would be the charging officer and it wouldn't necessarily be scheduled in Fairbanks.

A lot of missing info in this post. Felons are most decidedly ineligible for admission into Canada, to begin with, and even with no criminal history at all, the Canadians don't routinely allow folks to casually transport firearms across the border.
For these two people to be arrested for appearing at the Canadian border and declaring firearms means that they were making some kind of political statement and knew they would be arrested. If that's what happened.

Celia Harrison - when people say "papers", it simply means _identification_. Not reams of paper, file folders, documents, etc. Not reading materials.
It's very cute and very Euro, as in: "I had to show my papers at the Russian border" or just like the gendarmes in the movies: "Papers, please, ach tung!"

We refuses. Therefore, we are denied entry/exit.

This was posted by a FB friend who saw it somewhere. Don't know the Source, but this tells you what the thought processes are of this militant group.

"FEAR of tyranny and oppression fuels the militia. FEAR of losing your life or your freedom drives the militia. FEAR of the fed hammering on your door at 0300 hrs drives the militia. FEAR of the fed confiscating your bank account and threatening your with poverty fuels the militia. Not until the federals or the state move AGAINST the militia will the militia be invigorated and stimulated... Keep your powder dry... Keep building your caches and stashes... Things will change soon. Please be ready." ~Norm Olson, Commander of the Alaska Militia

Another self-centered, not too smart, nut job looking for attention. But, honey child, believe me, this is NOT the kind of attention that you are going to enjoy in the long run. Jails are not as cushy as they make them out to be on your right wing TV.

Do you get a piece of pie at the Courthouse at Denny's if you win your case? And do you still have to tip the server?

I met this woman back in 2000 when I was helping my (now ex) husband with his custody case. That woman was deranged even THEN. Ranting about how the courts kidnapped her kid or kids (I can't remember all the details almost 12 years later) and illegally gave the kid(s) to her ex-husband.
She had researched the judge's cases, looking for discrepancies in his judgements, tried looking into his past, his family's past, etc. Truly stalker behavior.

This doesn't surprise me. We avoided her at the law library when we were there at the same time as her.

I was married to her sister, and she was absolutely crazy since day one, but during her divorce she went off the deep end. She originally got in trouble with the law for kidnapping her own child. Nutjob is an exact description.

I encourage people like this to travel broadly. Go to Europe, Costa Rica, Singapore, where ever. See how it works in other places. See what REALLY happens in other countries.
Ironically, to me this is the antithesis of what it means to be a patriot, the height of hypocrisy and expectation, that the government owes you respect, courtesy and some kind of allowance for behaviors and aggression that go waaayyy past honorable civil disobedience.
That you ought not to go to jail when you threaten physical violence and thuggery, violate society's mores and Rambo around illegally armed and dressed in mercenary-for-hire combat fatigues. Because you have a platform. Because you are an 'objector'.

    Yeah, me too. Whatever.

Outside of the really quite unrealistically safe American fantasy world, it's called JUNTA. Military coup. Guerrilla warfare. Civil unrest.

How is Norm Olson, Schaeffer Cox and Mary Ann Morgan somehow different and better than Mexican gangs? ALL of it is about personal agenda and control.
Norm Olson, who says _I_ want to live in _your_ version of America and what makes you think it would be better for _ME_?
You peoples' lives seem fairly good and secure, especially you, Norm Olson. What's your problem?

Such a luxury to be able to freely criticize officials, police, judges with impunity; staging violence and defying law enforcement.
Love it! So lucky to be American!

Chechen Islam Umarpashaev was taken from his home by uniformed men after he criticized the Chechen police online.

Go ahead, militia boys! Mount insurrection! Do it! Stand by your convictions! Don't be frivolous, go to prison for your beliefs.
Be Nelson Mandela. Except without all the brutality aimed at you. Because you have _rights_.
