See? That is explained in such simple terms that even a radical right wing extremest Teabagger could understand it.
Okay well perhaps the terms are not THAT simple!
I encourage you to spread this video far and wide in order to better educate people about the ACA, Lying about Obama-care is one of the ways that the Republicans are planning to attack the President.
Though admittedly with Romney as their candidate that is going to be substantially harder for them to pull off.

I'm so afraid *they* will say it's all lies in the same way they are saying signs of economic recovery and a dip in joblessness are lies.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I will do everything I can to spread this around and hope we can at least get what Alvin Toffler used to call "the saveable remnant".
I am 61 and my whole adult life, I haven't had health insurance. I practice prevention in my exercise and eating habits. I've been to the doctor less than ten times my entire life, with the exception of births of my kids. Even then, I left the hospital within 24 hours. Paying out of pocket was definitely less expensive than paying for insurance!!! However, not everyone practices prevention. - Mandated insurance. It will cover the stuff that good lifestyle can't prevent. Like broken bones and injuries. I haven't gone downhill skiing due to the possibility of a fractured wrist, or broken leg or something, so it will help me be more adventurous. And, most of all, if it helps the future economy for our children, this alone is worth mandated health insurance.
ReplyDelete-- being optimistic. :-)
I live in California. I have not had medical insurance since 1994. I have just been offered FULL COVERAGE through ACA. I am nearly 60 and am so grateful to President Obama for this opportunity. It is a relief beyond measure. I voted for this wonderful man in 2008 and I'll vote for him again, without any hesitation. He is the ONLY politician I have ever found myself trusting, and believing in. And I've seen A LOT of politicians in my day.

My health care HMO just went up almost $200. I now pay as much for health care as I do for my home each and every month. The system is still broken.
ReplyDeleteConsider it spread!
ReplyDeleteAnon 61@ 7:30, That's hilarious! You've stayed away from going downhill skiing because you don't want to take the chance of having an accident!
ReplyDeleteDid you know that people in other countries of the world go downhill skiing all the time and don't worry about having an accident. They're living their lives and happy to not have to worry about a huge hospital bill that will financially destroy them.
Hilarious, and now you're just about too old to do it. god bless america sister, god bless america! You've been had and you don't get a second chance. god 'Bless' america!
You no-mind fukking american twerps, you're being cheated out of living your lives and you think it's in the name of liberty. Instead it's in the name of big business and you still don't get it. Continue to go along accepting that Obama is the socialist apple in the barrel and nothing will change for the better.
ReplyDeleteluv from a Canadian commie, pinko, socialist! LOL
To 61 year-old anonymous... Congratulations! You have indeed been lucky (so far). No one in the family has gotten cancer, an antibiotic-resistent infection, or been seriously injured by a drunken driver (or one texting). Or any one of the other ills that mankind is subject to. I hope your luck holds for another 4 years when you get Medicare. Not everyone is so lucky...
ReplyDelete7:30 am. You have been unusually fortunate for having such good health. It is not all about life style - that sounds very much like a Republican mantra. All kinds of things can happen to people. And remember that every life ends no matter what a person's life style has been - just hope that you do not have to endure a long and painful illness before the time comes.
ReplyDeleteFor those piling on 61 year old who has avoided adventurous sports.....she is NOT against the health plan. Read to the END of her comment.

so it will help me be more adventurous. And, most of all, if it helps the future economy for our children, this alone is worth mandated health insurance.
Of courses anon61 is not against Obamacare. that's just ridiculous to say that anyone thinks she is. The message is clear, she's cheated herself out of living a life where taking minimal risks were out of the question. And she's done it in the name of the big corps having convinced her that it was the preservation of her liberty and the American way.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's not and now it's too late for anon 61 because she's been conned into throwing away the best of life in the name of freedom. That freedom that is not really freedom at all but is bowing down to the will of the big health insurance corps.
And at least half of Americans still don't get it!! There's a real good chance of Obama not being allowed to serve a second term and the lobbying lyiing pigs in health care insurance are a big part of the reason.
Get it now?
Thanks for this clip! I have a two and a half year old daughter. For the first two and a quarter years of her life, i was unable to insure her and paid ALL of her medical expenses out of pocket. Every vaccine, every medications and every office visit/well baby check ups. I now have her insured through my new employer's insurance plan. What a relief and weight off your shoulders, as a parent, to finally have your child covered and not be completely broke from medical expenses.
ReplyDeleteNo, Doctors Don't Hate Obamacare

My family and I are covered under cobra from my last employer when I was laid off last December. My new job is a small company (just three of us) and doesn't have a health plan. My husband has been looking for a job for the past 5 months after his job ended in the fall. Since my husband had open heart surgery at 42 last March (although he is also "fit" and watches his lifestyle), should we not have a plan through his employer he will have to come off of our plan and go to the state for some kind of program. There are no insurers in our state--BCBS, Humana, etc.--who will carry him, no matter what we were willing to pay. Even though everything should hold for another 20 years. The only other option is for him to go uninsured for 6 months when we can seek his enrollment in a federal insurance program. Or I will have to quit my job and find a position with benefits. Incidentally, his surgery and hospitalization cost $132,000. So Anon 61 has been very lucky indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt's helped a lot of people get through some harrowing experiences. This is one of the achievements President Obama fought so hard for that I'm MOST grateful for.
ReplyDeleteI'll be sending this to everyone I know.
Thanks, Gryphen. Will pass along video to all I can. We need to educate others so that they can educate others.
