Americans seem to finally realize that President Obama is working hard to solve problems, and that the Republicans are working hard to keep that from happening.

Courtesy of CBS News:

Mr. Obama's approval rating is highly subject to partisanship, with 78 percent of Democrats voicing approval while an overwhelming 83 percent of Republicans disapprove. Independents are more divided, with 47 percent saying they disapprove and 45 percent saying they approve.

However, the poll does suggest Americans are happier with Mr. Obama's attempts to reach across the aisle and work with his political opponents. Most - six in 10 - said the president is trying to work with Republicans in Congress in order to get things done, and many say that effort is not reciprocated.

Only 27 percent of those surveyed said they thought Republicans in Congress are trying to work with President Obama.

You know when I hear that "the American people are smart" I'm not always so sure.

Clearly there are a WHOLE lot of mental midgets, under educated morons, and easily manipulated sheeple out there.

But you know what? Even the slowest kid in class will eventually figure out that the school is on fire.

So it looks like the American people are finally catching on to the fact that they have been lied to REPEATEDLY by the Republicans, and hopefully they will express that displeasure in the polls come November.

What's important is that this is a regular news channel, not a blog or cable. There are a lot of people, mostly older, who do not depend on the web for information. They still watch CBS and ABC, and rely on them for news. When CBS starts putting out graphs that show that the President is working hard, it means something. The diehard Rush crowd will never get behind anyone 'Democratic,' especially a black Dem, but people who think about things, will.

The lies and obstructionism from the right since Obama took office is the most cynical politics I've ever seen. McConnell even openly admitted that their primary goal is to get Obama out of office. These asshat clowns are making the US the laughing stock of the western world but they don't give a shit, just so long as they can protect their corporate and wall street puppet masters. Anyone with even a rudimentary grasp of statistics and history should be able to see that the gop ideology does NOT work. If you make less than $250K per annum and vote repuke you're either uninformed, a moron or both.

My sister, who doesn't like to see not America criticized, said this when I said I thought Lady Grantham in the TV Dounton Abbey Series (British cast and production) was a ninny.

"That's because she's playing an American."

    _Wake_up_call_.
Time for EVERYONE, voter or not, to take responsibility. _WE_ PUT THESE INDIVIDUALS IN CHARGE OF US, one way or the other.
You and I did. Whether we voted or not. _Especially_ if we did NOT vote.

Time to get registered. Get your family and friends registered. Get to the polls.
Suggestion: register "Undeclared" or "Non-partisan" or whatever that particular label is in your state.

    Why?
    1. You remain unaffiliated with either of the ridiculous arcane "Two Party System."
    2. Your voice speaks loudly to those running the show - by way of a name and statistical numbers.
    3. You get included in ALL the political mish-mash of crap put out BY BOTH parties.

The Republican Party takes it for granted that liberal- and independent-thinkers and hippies and prostitutes and the Welfare crowd and artists and young people and drug dealers and Ex-pats and people who travel a lot and remote-site construction workers and fishing boat captains and writers and students, _will_not_vote_.

They count on it. They plan for it. They count numbers of non-voters, by population and local region. EACH AND EVERY ABSTAINER is equally as important to them, because it's counted as a vote that 'the other guy' DIDN'T GET.
When they see a big movement of increased voter registration, they get panicky.

And think about it - if all those people, and all the people commenting on blogs, actually VOTED, do you seriously think there would be "partisan politics"?

DO IT. MAKE THE COMMITMENT. GO. REGISTER NOW. DON'T WAIT. CAST A BALLOT, EVEN IF YOU LEAVE IT BLANK.
