I offer you a little affirmation this snowy Friday morning.

Just take a moment to think about that.

We do not need to tell ourselves we were made in a God's image, or that we are the center of the universe, to believe we have value. We already HAVE value!

We are quite literally one with the universe.

And what makes us unique, different from all of the other creatures with whom we share this planet, is that we have the capacity to understand that.

    And THAT is original "sin". (Eve plucked the apple from the TREE OF KNOWLEDGE. "Knowledge" being a mistranslation of an ancient word for "awareness".)

    I've always felt this to be true. I told my daughter long ago that tho I don't believe in a god, nor eternal life in heaven, I do believe we were there at the beginning, made of stardust. In that sense we are eternal, and eternity is RIGHT NOW. A beautiful affirmatiion, Gryphen. Sad that there are only a few comments on this lovely post, and hundreds on the one about the Wasilla Wretch.
