A picture that shows several teens, a few of them carrying guns, displaying a bullet-riddled Obama T-shirt has led the U.S. Secret Service to investigate.
The Peoria Police Department is also doing its own investigation since the person who took the photograph is a Sergeant for the department.
“I don’t think that the shooting of that T-shirt is that big of a deal,” said Sgt. Pat Shearer, who snapped the photo.
“It was more of a political statement,” he told ABC15.
Shearer admitted that he was embarrassed by the photograph, which was being shared on Facebook. On Thursday, the Secret Service told ABC15 that the individuals involved have a right to free speech, but that the agency also has a right to question them.
Shearer said that he stands by President Barack Obama and would sacrifice his own life for the President’s.
“It’s not like they were going to go out and shoot the president,” he said.
Well of course it was "not like they were going out to shoot the president." He wasn't within range of their guns, now was he? However that shirt, with his picture, was.
So now that they have felt what it is like to kill a shirt, what happens if the next time the President IS within range?
And the guy who took the picture, AND posted it to Facebook, is a cop? Holy shit!
I am beginning to think that the Secret Service needs to open a special office just to keep an eye on the people of Arizona.
If this had been a shirt with a picture of Bush, while he was still in office, these kids would be lying naked while chained to the floor of a cell in Gitmo right now.

I did, but asked why. Legally, it was copyright infringement. But then he gave me a polite but stern lecture on good taste. Talking about targets, shooting at t-shirts and making implied threats with crosshairs can inspire the mentally ill to commit violence. The teens need to understand VERY clearly that this behavior is NOT acceptable. The police officer who permitted it to occur needs to lose his badge.

False equivalence, but nice try with the "just sayin" part. This photo was taken by a police officer and placed on facebook. Now that his job is on the line, he's on record saying he supports and respects President Obama, it was "kids being kids". So why did he take the photo down?
We Satirized President Bush, but never posted photos on the net with an image of him with crosshairs on his face, let alone his image used as target practice.
Racism isn't all the Liberals have, but it IS an issue when it comes to the first African American President duly elected and sword to office. Racism is all the radical right and the young men in the photo, since they ignore his accomplishments, and have publicly stated their goal is to make him a one term President.
The problem is, if the officer supports and respects the President, then why would he even consider posting this on a public page of Facebook? Doesn't make sense.
Once you ponder and reflect on this, do come back and show examples of liberals shooting images of President Bush, or putting crosshairs on his photo. Or find a similar photo to boost your argument.

It's not being racist, I mean I am a half white half Hispanic woman and I do NOT agree with anything Obama is doing... I don't really even like him. Nothing wrong with someone having an opinion about the guy. I don't think they should even take it this far. They are kids just having some fun. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT! And I am proud to say I did attend CeHS! :) People should be worrying about other things like possible their family or what about all those people actually out killing others and getting away with it... Go to a shooting range and see all the Obama pictures you can shoot. Everyone has their own opinion about him so there is nothing wrong with it, not like they were actually going to go out and kill him... Besides the picture was posted a WEEK ago and now it's getting out... and if Sargent Pat didn't find anything wrong with it, then there is nothing wrong with it... :) This is just going way over board and yeah Obama is NOT doing his job and still blaming Bush for Obama's own mistakes... Combine that with low level learners with poor parenting, the popularity of video shooting games on playstation, glorification of gun culture and violence in movies and television, and the uptick in racism we've seen since The President was "Candidate Obama". Add in the example Sarah Palin and her ilk keep drumming over and over again, of course there are idiots who defend this as "free speech", they're desensitized to gun violence and blood lust.
I hope these kids and the cop are punished to the full extent of the law, possibly trying them as adults, because some of those weapons are assault weapons, and the image of the President reflects the racism and intent, mayube not at the president directly, but at anyone they consider different.
The people making excuses need to have their heads examined.
This would make a great political ad for our President, even though I know he wouldn't use it, it DOES make people want to vote for him even more.

If the boys are juveniles, their records will be sealed. The cop will not be so lucky. He will try to get chummy with the Special Agents--you know badge to badge--the agents will be polite, and he will then be thoroughly investigated. Chances are, he won't be indicted, but he will be watched.

BTW My husband is in the construction trade and he says all of his buddies at work say it's Obama's fault that the deficit is so high. Kudos to you Gryphen, because I found the graph that you posted showing how Reagan and the both Bushes actually increased the national debt more than Clinton and Obama and I showed it to my husband. Ms. Tripp has disclosed that a number of the officials arresting her were APD officers and members of the FBI - no wonder now why she was arrested or why the "evidence" was destroyed. Hmmm, did I read somewhere that some of those guys are fixin' to squeal on the ringleaders of this prostitution ring in order to avoid charges themselves?
