Atlantic reporter shocked at hate toward Muslims boiling over on Sarah Palin's Facebook page. Really? Where have you been these last three years?

Palin-bots/Teabaggers/racists is there really any difference?
Courtesy of the Atlantic:

As Sarah Palin Facebook missives go, her latest isn't particularly provocative or even objectionable: "Obama apologizes for the inadvertent Koran burning this week," she wrote. "Now the U.S. trained and protected Afghan Army can apologize for killing two of our soldiers yesterday."

What's noteworthy is the response to the post. Almost 20,000 people have "liked" it. They've left 2,238 comments. It wouldn't be fair to credit or blame former governor Palin for their content, or to take them as representative of what conservatives think about the War in Afghanistan. But the comments shed light on how one faction in the conservative movement, fervent Palin fans, are reacting to the ongoing presence of American troops in a Muslim country.

Some are completely unobjectionable. But explicit xenophobia is alarmingly common, characterizing comments on both sides of a significant divide. On one hand, there are Palin fans who think we ought to bring all our troops home immediately, that interventionism doesn't work. There are, at the same time, voices urging America to fight more aggressively; some even urge mass murder and other atrocities. After reading through every comment that appeared, I concluded that a powerful argument for bringing out troops home is that waging war abroad is having a corrosive effect on the character of some Americans, whose worst impulses are being stoked.

Like I said where has this guy been all of this time? We have been talking about the hate that Sarah Palin inspires for years now.

Still he has a point about just how frightening a visit to Palin-land can be fore the uninitiated,

If you have the stomach for it you can read below the fold to see just how disgusting these so-called "patriots" really are when the flames of their hatred are fanned by the likes of the Grizzled Mama.

  • Bob Glosson: Why don't we simply burn ALL their Korans and be done with it..
  • Angela Weddle Smith: that dessert needs to be turned to glass. I am sorry...but there will never be world peace. John Lennon was dreaming when he wrote that song.
  • Tim Turner: I would have wiped my butt with the pages before I burned them.
  • Peter Day: Obama is a disgrace we should pull out of there and carpet bomb them all they are not worth one american child's life.
  • Gregory Hefner: load up about 100,000 korans written on 2000 pound bombs drop them out of a plane at ten thousand feet over there city until they stop complaining..the bombing will contiue till there complaining stops.
  • Tom Schultz: Ther eis no such thing as an inadvertant burning of the Koran. It is done because it needs to be done. The Afghans, Iraquis and the Iranis should have been dust when they started teir crap. Just one big glass parking lot in the Middle East. I say this as someone who has been in the worlds largest cat box.
  • Reggie Massey: I say an eye for an eye. When they point at us, I saw we point at them! For everyone of our troops that die, I saw that we kill 10 of their troops and wrap their body in a swine blanket.
  • Homer Cantrell: O.k. it's time to pull the ground troops out of the Middle East and call in the B-52s. Carpet bomb Syria, Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
  • Pamela Ehrhart: I think I will burn a Koran in my fire pit this wkend...Obama is a weiner and all Muslims suck..if u put that together it would be Muslims suck Obama weiner...lol..

Oh yeah, THIS certainly represent the "heartland of America."

God let's hope not!

I disagree with the writer's comment that Palin isn't to blame for the hate speech in her comments section. She is absolutely to blame. If a reader posts a comment critical of Palin in any way, he/she is immediately banned. To allow these hateful, racist comments to stay on her site encourages more brazen, nasty comments. Hate begets hate. She endorses the sentiment of the comments by allowing them to remain on her site. It is easy to imagine her cackling and rubbing her hands with glee as watches the hate pile up on her Facebook page.

Absolutely! I remember articles written about the fact that even the most mildly critical comments about Palin were immediately deleted from her Facebook page - within minutes. The fact that these comments could be read on her page means that she condones them and should take responsibility for them.

    4. That's correct; I wonder why no reporter will point that out? That the comments are screened and so whoever is paid to screen the comments (does RAM still work for Palin?) is allowing those posts. Absolutely disgraceful. We all know that's how Palin really thinks, she's just too cowardly to say so herself and allows her bots to say it for her.

      for Deni:

      from the Urban Dictionary:

      1. wee-weed up

A nonsensical phrase used by a politician that is imploding over the failure of his/her policies. The phrase replaces nonsensical phrases uttered by his/her predecessor that showed his/her ignorance.
At an online forum on healthcare held Thursday at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Obama drew on his own political experience to predict better fortunes next month.

“There’s something about August going into September where everyone in Washington gets all wee-weed up,” the president said.

      2. wee-weed up
To argue from emotions without much logical thought. From the "This little piggy" story. The last little piggy "cried wee, wee, wee all the way home." It was use by Barack Obama in August 2009 to describe Washingtonians. To say it came from urinating would not have a coherent meaning. It may have been a spontaneous term that filled the niche at that moment.
The birthers don't look at the evidence and get all wee-weed up.

But American's still wonder why some Muslims don't like them... consider, that same venomous hatred of the "other" was brought by some US troops all around the world. Watch them piss on the dead, take grisly trophies of kills, pose with racist flags, shoot civilians because somebody else killed their buddy, torture prisoners and pose them for humiliating photos. To be fair, historically Muslims haven't exactly been very nice to each other either. And then you've got situations where a reporter at a beauty contest says "these women are so beautiful, Mohammad himself would take them for wives" and a mob of Muslims are so outraged that they roam the streets brutally murdering people.

Not saying you're wrong, because you're not. Just trying to put a little perspective on it.

Most people would call what Palin does---skulking.

Also, I'm so glad she and Todd are still stuck together. Todd would have to get a job or sue for alimony and child support as he is probably the better parent. At least she built him his own house so he wouldn't have to get up to that face in the morning.

Luckily, she's paying others to raise Trig.

      I have Lots of Questions:

1.) If Sarah is Trig's birth mother, why did she, after her water broke in Texas, hop onto two separate planes to fly back to Anchorage?

2.) Why did Palin, with her high-risk pregnancy, ignore hospitals with NICU units while travelling from Texas back to Alaska, after her water broke?

3.) Why did Palin THEN hop in a car and travel from Anchorage to Mat-Su to supposedly "give birth" in a hospital not equipped to handle the birth of twins?

And don't tell me she took all these insane risks simply because "you can't have a fish picker born in Texas".

4.) One more question: how did Sarah get pregnant after having her tubes tied and singed after Piper's birth?

Hey - No she's not - she's a laughing stock with very little credibility anymore! Who knows if Sarah is still married to Todd - if she is - please tell us why that's a point of honor, to be married to a man who was serviced by prostitutes AND pimped her (and probably many others)out to his business associates (Sarah's, too?). What's so great about being married to a sleaze like that - especially when she's not even getting laid in the deal (well, at least by him!), and no - she's not now and has never been Trig's mother! Didn't I hear tell the young parents are soon to step forward to claim their child back from the neglectful granny's claws AND that those who have been providing all the child-care have been crapped on one too many times and will back up said parents with the truth of the matter? Go back to C4P and tell your fairy tales there!

I think Palin is to blame, but by far she is not alone. She and other right wing instigators know the buttons to push to get people riled up to move their agenda. First discredit the media. The misinformation, innuendo and lies are easily swallowed up without fact checking; playing on fears and ignorance. When you have caused such paranoia, it's easier to get people to not only follow you blindly, but do your dirty work, all in the name of fighting evil.

An comment from c4p is a great example:

"...The Egyptian ambassador said in a TV interview that Obama had privately stated what his goals were. He said Obama told him he was and still is a Muslim who supports the Muslim agenda but that the Muslim world needed to be patient with him because he couldn’t focus on the Muslim agenda until after he got Obamacare passed..."

There were far more likes and agreeing responses than I would have imagined. Even though this is an absurd idea, rarely do you see a rebuttal.

Any who burn the Koran are doing so out of pure ignorance.

If they had bothered to read the Koran, perhaps they would know that Jesus is a prominent figure in it's text, as he is mentioned 25 times by name (more often than Mohammed). What they would read about him would ring true with what they profess their own beliefs to be, that Jesus was the result of immaculate conception of his mother Mary, and that Jesus was a Messiah, a savior of the Jewish People.

I myself am a non-evangelizing athiest, who views most religion as well-intentioned for the most part, but have chosen to reach that belief through knowledge. The world would be so much better if those who claim piety made half an effort to do so, and do so with well-informed decisions.

Unfortunately, I think this attitude is all too common, and fueled not only by Palin, but by Rush and Fox and even the GOP candidates. It is amazing that these people dare to call themselves Christians. God created the universe, and that means HE created Muslims too. Do they not see that they would react just as badly were we under occupation by Afghanistan and their troops burned our Bible? What do they think they would do? Just because we have all the money and the weapons does not mean we are acting as good world citizens. In fact, we are not, and to call people names is childish at best and dangerous at worst. Yes, we should get out of Afghanistan, and if it weren't for the war hawks of the GOP, we would be out of there.

This is so sad. I felt the hate in Sarah and rejected her that first day that I heard her in St Paul. She looked so radiant and "peppy" but her sarcasm and utter disdain, hate, for any one that did not agree with her shown through. My brother, who is a hater, immediately was drawn to her and all the venom he had was freed. She connected immediately with him and allowed him to spew all his Kooky and evil thoughts. He has changed so much since she appeared that I no longer can be in the same room as he is in. Santorum is a hater also. We need a person in the White House who is tolerant and does not bring out the worst in people. Obama is not perfect but I love his attempts to bring peace and acceptance here in the USA and the world. God help us if one of the haters wins.

I absolutely know what you are talking about - except with me it's my Mother - who should know better. She came here in 1954 from Japan - and she and all of us half-breed Jap kids endured all kinds of hate, discrimination, and threats. To this day, whenever my older brother screws up job wise due to questionable work habits or competency (he likes to take 2-3 hour lunch breaks at my mom's house) - she always blames it on racism, my poor brother, BUT - she hates all other immigrants, especially undocumented yellow (specifically Chinese), brown, and black ones, she hates poor people (even though she was always poor).

I think FUX NEWS and even CNN has brainwashed our elderly folks because they are lonely and sit there all day and listen to that crap - she absolutely worshipped O'Reilly, "Ru Dobbs" and "Wuf Britzer". She actually believes President Obama is only for the "bracks" and she hates all the "Alabs" (and "Chewish", too). This astonished me and makes it difficult to even talk with her sometimes because of the hate she expresses - the woman who taught us, along with my Dad that everyone is equal, and that hate is wrong! People ARE being brainwashed. My mom thought Sarah Palin was a wonderful candidate! It is very, very sad the influence the RWNJ's have had with vulnerable people. It is true - their rhetoric usually touches something the person already has inside and validates and empowers it.

In my mother's case - the Japanese, as a culture, value racial purity, social status, etc. She always looked down on (at the time) the one other Japanese woman married to a GI in our town - because she was Okinawan, a "native" - she considered her ignorant and uneducated!

My mother conveniently forgot that she IS still a member of one of the groups that the RWNJ's actually despise. Let some negative incident with Japan occur - and their hatred will be refocused on the Japanese, too. It's actually still there, just hidden!

  11. LoveAndKnishesFromBrooklyn5:23 AM

Not only She Who Must Not Be Named, but the rest of the RWNJs have been doing a great job of stoking the hate train for years--how about the over-the-top outrage against the Muslim center "at ground zero" in NYC (actually blocks away and they never mentioned that there was a mosque in the area for ages), the yakking from the likes of Faux News/Limbaugh/Savage, et. al., and the GOP always slathering like rabid dogs over another war. Feed these lines to a group of irrational people who only see the world as they want to see it, and keep validating them as "patriots" if they follow along like good sheep--it's a recipe for the outpouring of love and understanding that you're reading above (/snark). The carefully crafted Palin puppet character is only one of the methods of delivery.

Not only that, but their hatred is directed first of all to manipulate the people in the churches, to get them all stoked up in anger so that they will join in with their hatred and evil deeds. Moreover, they hate FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROFIT and to gain political power, using the name of Jesus and God, and the Bible, as a subterfuge and justification – when all these authorities teach the exact opposite of what they are promoting! They are literally blasphemers who are consciously doing the work of the devil for the purpose of their own gain – and destroying the people of God in the process.

Psalm 66 says that the enemies of God are those who "pretend obedience before him"; Psalm 81 says that the punishment of such people will be "everlasting". Psalm 68 says that God will "scatter the nations that delight in war". According to the Bible, the so-called religious 'right' actually hates God; they despise what His word actually says. Their phoniness and lack of belonging to God is crystal clear to everyone but them.

"SITKALIDAK ISLAND, Alaska — In 208 years, a lot of history can be forgotten--the Russian cannon fire, the cries of women and children hurling themselves 100 feet into the sea, the defeat of a proud people.

All of these things happened at a small, raised buttress known as Refuge Rock near the village of Old Harbor. A Russian force, led by fur traders, conquered the Alutiiq of Kodiak Island, leaving hundreds dead."

I admire your attempts to educate the above buffoon, who probably is one of the Palins. Normally, providing accurate historical information of the brutality of the Russians (and other white groups)towards the Alaskan Native people would enable an understanding of how wrong and inhumane all that kind of behavior was - and still is, as the unequal treatment continues.

But in this case, these kinds of psychopaths rarely understand or have the capacity to learn or have empathy - even if they themselves have some native blood in them. The story of native peoples all over the world and their contact with white people is the same - cultural devastation, annihilation, and exploitation - and remains the same to this day.

Unfortunately, this is a source of PRIDE for this ignorant bastard above - and the likes of Santorum, Limpballs, Palin, Gingrich, etc. - their brand of "Christianity", so to speak.

And of course we'll see more coverage of the controversy itself, which becomes more newsworthy as it intensifies.

Wonderful all around, because it simply increases the viewers for the movie.

Maybe it will be so successful that HBO will decide to do a sequel AND a prequel!

      How perfect would that be?

Prequel: Alaskan bloggers, tanning bed in the governor's mansion, Dairygate, per diem at home, the Where's Sarah? buttons, writing letters to the editor under other names, redecorating the mayor's office then hiring a city manager, the smears she used to win the mayor's race, earmarks, the sports complex and its matching homebuilding enterprise - all the shenanigans and dirt

Sequel: Andrew Sullivan, the redacted and delayed emails, the ethics charges, PACs, reality TV, bus tours, Belmont boobs, Todd's pimping, Bristol's babies, her own words scripted and spewed, crosshairs and blood lust, Fox (imagine a montage of her most bizarre appearances), and on and on

    BREAKING NEWS !

Sarah is still mentally ill, still pretends to be married to Todd, still not Trig's birth mother.

    Any questions ?

OT, another weird (is there any other kind) email:

    http://www.documentcloud.org/documents/318936-pra-gsp02-0013416.html

Somebody was asking if there would be a live audio recording of Trig's birth.

Kris Perry: "He also asked again about the live audio recording of the birth and what you thought. A private moment?"

    OMG, these people are INSANE.

    1. From that e-mail at the documentcloud link: March 12, 2008 "..and I'm not going to assume this will be as smooth and easy as the other kids' births..."

Remember this? April 7, 2008, Sarah's Letter from God: "Then, I let Trig's mom have an exceptionally comfortable pregnancy so she could enjoy every minute of it, and I even seemed to rush it along so she could wait until near the end to surprise you with the news..."

(when I Googled to find the text of the God letter, I was amazed at the number of right wing sites and religious sites that lavished tearful paeans to Palin for writing it)

      --------------------

In trying to pinpoint the date of the God letter, I re-read Joe McGinniss' take on the Palin e-mails from last summer's dump and how they changed his mind from being a "Trignostic" to being a Trig Truther. Fascinating.

      http://www.joemcginniss.net/trig-new-evidence-from-sarah-palin-emails/Joe%20McGinniss

There's a LOT of evidence in both e-mail dumps that put the lie to so many of Palin's public utterances, but the average national news publication reporter hasn't and still won't get the significance of most of it.

      Thanks, Kajo!

That letter always bugged me, to the point that I researched the topic of someone writing a letter in the persona of God or Heavenly Father. Google has a few disjointed entries, and I spoke about it with Catholic and Jewish acquaintences (one the wife of a Rabbi), and it's total nonesensen and blasphemy to even emulate the "all knowing" in this way.
To this day, Jesse's post is the definitive answer. Joe and Andrew feeling the same way lends a lot of credence.
My skin still crawls if I listen to that interview she gave where she made it up as she went along.

I'll have to re read Joe's book and look through the new mail dump.

Perhaps all the media have known of her hatred and craziness for years but are only now getting the stones to actually say what they knew. They act shocked when in fact the evidence has been laying around forever. The greatest mystery of all is what force was behind Sara that kept the MSM from outing her insanity and frothy mouthed hatred until now? Maybe the good write from the Atlantic could take a shot at that one next. It would make an interesting read.

She hates everyone - that much I can say about her. So in that regard you are correct. Her hate is universal. As for Obama supporters looking down on people who don't go to college you've apparently been inhaling the gas pipe a little too long. For an instructive comment on what Obama REALLY say that made Sanitarium (who btw has earned three post high school degrees) call him a snob he said he wanted people to continue at least a year after high school whether it was college, two year college, technical school or apprenticeship. Now exactly what kind of job do you have that required none of the above? Get yourself educated on what the POTUS actually says before you come here shooting off your mouth.

      Delete
    2. No, she doesn't discriminate her hate. She just hates everyone who isn't like her.

Aren't you being the ignorant judgmental one for telling "Obamabots" what they think? That's a sure sign of your own feelings of inadequacy and anger at being behind the door when God handed out tolerance, intelligence, and love.

"Obamabots" realize, like Obama himself realizes, that it takes all kinds of skills, talents, and ambition to progress this country, and his aim is to offer the path to whichever education or training a young person chooses to ready him/herself for their first or lifelong job. That could be a program offered by industry, a trade school, community college, or a 4-year program.

That's not being a "snob" or "looking down on blue collars".

If someone chooses to ignore their opportunities, and then complains about their job options, it's not snobbish to point out to them that they "made their bed" and it's up to them to get out of it, get trained so they have something to offer prospective employers.

I'm a working-class, Obamabot who hasn't attended college, FYI. $arah Palin has attended how many colleges???? Five? Conservatives rail against education, because they want everybody to be stupid like them! $arah Palin fucking hates anybody who isn't rich, white, heterosexual, and a Christian. $arah Palin has publically shit on, Muslims, gays, minorities, immigrants, and even women. At least President Obama doesn't bash the poor, sick, and unemployed, like Palin does. $arah Palin mocks people who get help from the government, even though that hypocrite has taken shitloads of money from government for her own personal use. There is a reason $arah Palin mostly only appeals to old, white men, the fucking bitch alienates just about everybody else! Everybody else hates her! You need to yank your head out of your ass!

    7. Why would Obama supporters "look down" on blue collars and people who don't have college degrees when many of them fit into those categories? What a way to make sweeping generalizations! The major difference I see between Obama supporters and GOP supporters is that we face reality, know problems exist and use logic and critical thinking in our search for solutions to them, whereas, many in the GOP have allowed Fox, Limbaugh, RW politicians, and RW organizations to do their thinking for them.

Obamabots and IMers, along with President Obama, Liberals, Dems, Progressives - and others with brains, do not now and have NEVER looked down on those who choose NOT to further their education through college.

There is nothing elitism about valuing education, or learning a trade (which by the way - requires that "education" you hate, EVEN for CUTTING HAIR)! Every trade, occupation, and profession requires some sort of training, education and ongoing additional coursework to stay abreast of current state of the art knowledge and skills!

Only the very truly stupid and morally bankrupt would believe, however, that children (younger than 18) should drop out of school, have children before they even have a GED OR a spouse, and go work in a coffee shop as a wiser choice for their future than going to college - or at LEAST graduating from HIGH SCHOOL! If this is what Sarah and Santorum believes is good for the nation as a whole - heaven help us, we are in BIG TROUBLE!

And yes, Sarah hates anyone not white, evangelical, rich, or male! She is SO STUPID that when Santorum says that Protestants are not RILL CHRISTIANS, who "left" Christianity a long time ago, that he means people like HER! ANYONE NOT CATHOLIC like him, are infidels equally - especially a woman like Palin whom he considers just another whore.

That's the drawback of not getting an education, Sarah - you're too stupid to even recognize those who are your enemies, who really do look down their noses at you. What do you think he thinks about all of those out-of wedlock babies - or Bristol, Track, and Willow?

The media always gives her a pass. She's built this environment that foments hate and heavily censors opposing views. This makes the haters fell validated by seeing nothing but like minded opinions. Sarah wins because she basks in the attention and adoration.
I think this article opens the door a crack. Once she's kicked to the curb by fox, I hope the media feels freer to go after her. As long as she's a commenter on fox, it looks like one media outlet going against someone from another media outlet.
She'll be marginalized and hopefully babygate will finally break open.

    1. I was looking back into the ADN archives for "letters to the editor" for mid-April 2008, and found a whole collection which seemed dedicated to the "Woody and Wilcox" topic: http://community.adn.com/bluemarine/node/121732

I wonder if this comment that makes light of various expressions of "comedy" was the one drafted by Rosanne Hughes to be sent to the ADN?:

      STOP YOU'RE WHINING!
      Submitted by sharedaccount on April 19, 2008 - 3:37pm.
Much comedy contains variations on the elements of surprise, incongruity, conflict, repetitiveness, and the effect of opposite expectations, but there are many recognized genres of comedy. Satire and political satire use ironic comedy to portray persons or social institutions as ridiculous or corrupt, thus alienating their audience from the object of humor.

Parody borrows the form of some popular genre, artwork, or text but uses certain ironic changes to critique that form from within (though not necessarily in a condemning way). Screwball comedy derives its humor largely from bizarre, surprising (and improbable) situations or characters. Black comedy is defined by dark humor that makes light of so called dark or evil elements in human nature. Similarly scatological humor, sexual humor, and race humor create comedy by violating social conventions or taboos in comedic ways.

Or the one on the 2nd page entitled "Give Woody and Wilcox a break already" (zelmo73 on April 19, 2008 - 2:00am)?

Either way, they don't condemn Woody and Wilcox for moronic insensitivity or racist remarks. You can almost read the "boys will be boys" underlying thought process.

Poor Tripp - except for coloration he looks exactly like Bristol, and Chuckie Heath, Senior. Cute now, but, I wonder if he'll get chin reconstruction when he's older like his Mom? Trig looks more and more like Levi - again, even though Levi was more blonde as a child, in every other aspect - he looks like Levi in miniature! Handsome! Willow is definitely much more beautiful than Bristol - probably more independent, too! Don't feel bad Bristol, it happens, there's always the sister who's the beauty in the family, and the second best. And, of course, speaking of the young'uns in the Palin tragicomedy - Mercedes and Levi are both absolutely gorgeous (and more well-liked, too!).

The people that Palin both represents and appeals to are a scary bunch. They are not only racist and xenophobic, but also jingoistic to the nth degree. Just like her, they think the USA should never apologize to anyone, right or wrong, and some comments like "the Muslim-loving Kenyan should go back to his country" are illustrative of their mentality. The cast of clowns running for the GOP nomination mirror this kind of thinking in varying degrees, but Regressive Ricky (Santorum) is the best example of a male version of Simple Sarah. Both of them need to be held accountable for their ignorant, incendiary words, and so do the rest of the RW haters.

The article is titled: "War Is Corroding the Souls of Some Sarah Palin Fans"

    I beg to differ.

Their souls were corroded LONG before the war. THAT is why they are teabaggers and that is why they support Palin.

The folks at The Atlantic had obviously not attended - or apparently even read about - any of the McCain/Palin rallies during which shouts of "N#%%ER" and "KILL HIM" could be heard. I saw the kind of walking human excrement that attended the rally here in Albuquerque. They were loathsome, they were odious, they were offensive in the extreme. When they thought they were anonymous members of the mob, they were emboldened to shout all sorts of cringe worthy bullshit. However, when they saw they were on camera, like cockroaches hit with the light, they scurried for cover or alternately became sheepish and mute.

Seriously, this is nothing more than an expression the racial animus of these cousin humping buffoons who have more toes than teeth. It is also nothing new. This is the same human flotsam and jetsam that the GOP has depended upon as foot soldiers for at least 60 years.

Palin is the Pied Piper of racist ignoramuses. She attracts bigoted imbeciles the way shit attracts flies. That attraction, however, is not because of rhetorical guile, design, or even because of any intent at all; it is borne of a shared lack of intellect and an extremely narrow and arrogant outlook on everyone and everything that is not white, extremist conservative socially, or hard line fundagelical.

Where the hell has The Atlantic been the last 60 years or so? Did they just emerge - Rip Van Winkle like - from some extended hibernation of 60+ years?

I totally agree, Gasman - they were racists to begin with, just needed a leader/s to let their hatred fully, openly blossom for the world to see! And aren't they PROUD now that the likes of the GOP/Teabaggers/Fundie Xtians have bestowed some sort of horrific legitimacy on that which used to be considered shameful, abhorrent, and despicable - at least to give public voice to? Now, thanks to Palin, et al - it's all out in the open, no more hiding behind the white sheets!

Let's hope the Atlantic and other MSM sources actually start telling the truth about these people. It has always been here, and it isn't new - but I do feel that these dangerous people have been given the blessing and support of MSM and the main stream political machine to ante up, increase and spread the hate far and wide.

Still, to me, there is something very different going on in a way than I haven't seen in a long time. With the exception of the White Christian Extremist Male (especially of the 1% persuasion) - what group has NOT been attacked, threatened, and demonized? I guess they're taking the global attack route - let's f--k everyone 'cept us!

    2. Gasman9:24 AM

      Marleycat,
My theory as to "why" is that they are desperate. They dimly comprehend that nothing undercuts their ignorant racist fear mongering bullshit more effectively than a black man in the White House that does not fulfill their dire hyperbolic predictions.

President Obama has not only NOT ushered in the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as they predicted, he has actually managed to have some genuine success in areas that the GOP chronically fucks up, like the economy and foreign policy. The only argument they've got to economic recovery is to either deny it, or like Santorum (yuck!), claim that we'd be better off if we had ushered in the Second Great Depression by killing off our domestic auto industry. As for foreign policy, it pisses them off no end that President Obama got bin Laden. There really is no credible argument against THAT success.

So, with nothing but painfully idiotic febrile ludimocrosity, they accuse the president of literally every evil they can imagine.

They are but cornered rats who sense their own mortality and are fighting for their very political lives. Fortunately, I think their tactics will be the undoing of the GOP. For they will surely NEVER rally around Romney as their candidate. They will either demand a Party Of God candidate like Santorum or Palin or they will simply stay home in November.

I would like nothing better than to excise this metastasized cancerous rot from our body politic in order to let the healing begin.
