You know I think the man might have a recording contract in his future.
This impromptu performance came at the end of the a special evening at the White House called "Red, White, and Blues."
You can see the entire performance over at the Obama Diary.
God I hope this doesn't scare Mitt Romney into trying to sing again. I don't think I can take it.
I live in Thailand...this morning I fired up the computer went to the website "The Political Carnival" to see they were streaming this live...I was so damn happy about it all..."Sweet Home Chicago."
ReplyDeleteYou gotta have soul to sing the blues!
ReplyDeleteSeeing the humanity in that man makes my heart soar. I am so proud to have him as my President.
When Mick Jagger hands you the mic, you've got to step up :).
ReplyDeleteCould you even imagine the lameness if Romney or God forbid Ayatollah Santorum were President? It would be the Osmonds, and organ music, if we were lucky.
Romney is not better at singing than he is at pretending to be an average, unemployed, working stiff. He comes across as phony in every way. He seems more like a (bad) actor auditioning for the part of President in a movie with a lousy scriptwriter. None of the gop can come close to our President, they all fall short.
ReplyDeleteO/T -- over at the ceepee, they're claiming that, with the old Julian calendar, George Washington was actually born on February 11th -- and they see as a miracle that he and Sarah Palin (who has a "noble spirit") were born on the same day!
ReplyDeleteJust one of the many parallels between his life and hers.
Whew.
Mr. Obama is one cool cat.
ReplyDeleteSigned,
A fifty-eight year old white guy living in Ohio
Our President is a special guy.
ReplyDeleteI can just imagine a Black History Month celebration planned by one of the GOP pretenders.
They'd have theri buddy Herb over to sing, order some pizza, and call it done. Gives me the shivers.
(And not in a good way!)
Our guy is cool.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with your President - move over Michelle! ♥
ReplyDeleteLOVED the video of President Obama singing again, and with such a legend. The utter ease that President Obama has with people, with crowds, with music, with LOVE...it makes me so very proud to see and know that I had a hand in electing him...and will again.
ReplyDeleteLANDSLIDE Crooner-in-Chief Obama 2012
Glad to see that he is having fun despite the daily dose of nastiness coming from his opponents and the weighty decisions on his shoulders.
ReplyDeletePoll: Obama tops 50% vs. all comers

This is just so very satisfying to read:
ReplyDeleteRepublicans are sighing, not cheering
The most notable factor in the Republican presidential race thus far is the depth of despair into which Republican voters have sunk.
They cannot find a candidate. Faced with a Democratic incumbent who appears shockingly weak to them, the Republicans have been unable to find a big nominee with a big voice to oppose him.
Instead, they are finding a series of small nominees with squeaky voices. Some think the Republican Party’s problem is that its voters have failed to “coalesce” around a single candidate. That is not the problem.
The problem is that there is no candidate around whom Republicans can coalesce. The field is not just weak, it is barren.
The GOP is now the party of woulda, coulda, shoulda. If only this governor had run. If only that person had not dropped out early. If only there had not been so many debates to introduce the candidates to the American people long before the candidates were ready to be introduced.
Today, what ushers forth from the throats of loyal Republicans is not a cheer, but a sigh.
The GOP nominating race has been reduced to four men:

President Obama will be re-elected in November. The GOP aka American Taliban aka Teabaggers will be rejected once again. They are too extreme and no one with a brain agrees with anything they have to say. Sorry GOP. President Obama will win and there's absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteWoo-Hoooo! I love that voice!
ReplyDeletePresident Obama won't have to worry about a day job when he's finished his term. He can sing!
I remember "The Jerk" - Steve Allen's character failing mightily to keep up with the rhythm; that's what I see with Romney. I think Romney would need a metronome.
ReplyDeleteThat made me smile this morning.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!! Love that Man.
ReplyDeleteCould you even imagine the lameness if Romney or God forbid Ayatollah Santorum were President? It would be the Osmonds, and organ music, if we were lucky.
ReplyDeleteno...not lucky.......!

Good God, Ya'll!
ReplyDeleteWe got ourselves a President!
Who else would have the confidence to get up and sing with those guys on that stage? B.B. King, Mick Jagger...Dayum!
Thanks, Gryphen!
He brings a smile to my face!!! Kind, sweet guy and our wonderful President! There is no way in hell the Republican crowd will beat him this go around and I can hardly wait to vote for him AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteI'll be damned...
ReplyDeleteour President has heart and soul!
Good job, Mister President!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome -- it brought a giant smile to my face. Thanks for your website!

ReplyDeleteSteve Martin was in "The Jerk"...
Gryphen, you crack me up! Just say no Mitt!
ReplyDeleteOh yet again, Obama is so smooth. Being from the Chicago area this was especially cool.
It does my heart good to see this humble man having some fun, I l-o-v-e the look on the First Lady's face! She knows she's got a good man!
