If Obama is being called out for hugging a black man, then what do we make of this?

You know  personally I am not sure WHOSE reputation should be more damaged by this.

I think this is where Bush was thinking, "Thank God I was not the one running against this guy!"

  1. Is this my President he is hugging? And if so, then, I am sorry, but GET YOUR ARMS OFF MY PRESIDENT. You have no business or right doing that.

LOL! I have noticed that the entire Bush family has kept totally out of the whole show right now. Frankly, I figured they were watching them all implode and then will whip out Zeb at the National Convention. But now I am leaning toward them sitting this one out.

OT: I read that the Lt. Gov. of SC has been indicted for using PAC money for personal purposes. When are they going to go after Sarah for that same thing. Anyone reading her reports can see the lies and coverups. Come on, do we really think that Bristol is worth all the money she earned from SarahPAC as a "consultant"..or that Sally and Chuckles did the work for which they were paid?

Since Barbara came out last week and called the current primary a travesty I can hardly wait for yet another smackdown of Palin. She'll probably wait until Sara feels like she might be gaining momentum for her fantasy coronation at the "open" convention before she slaps her silly but I suspect it's coming sooner than later. I don't have much respect for the family but they do have a sense of what they want the GOP to look like and Sara isn't a part of it.

Sara can't get in trouble for taking all the money from her PAC she wants since it's not a political PAC in the common usage of the term. It's kind of like what Steven Colbert did - created a SuperPAC he could use to do about anything. As long as people send her money she can spend it as she likes since she's not declared as a candidate.

Rush Limbaugh Scandal Proves Contagious for Talk-Radio Advertisers

Ninety-eight major advertisers—including Ford and Geico—will no longer air spots on Premiere Networks’ ‘offensive’ programs.

This is big. According to the radio-industry website Radio-Info.com, which first posted excerpts of the Premiere memo, among the 98 companies that have decided to no longer sponsor these programs are “carmakers (Ford, GM, Toyota), insurance companies (Allstate, Geico, Prudential, State Farm), and restaurants (McDonald’s, Subway).” Together, these talk-radio advertising staples represent millions of dollars in revenue.

I personally like that photo. I think it is taken at the Inauguration in 2008. I sense President Bush feeling he knows the hard, hard work that is ahead of the new President Obama.

Even though they are two different people, from different parties, I'll bet President and Mrs. Bush feel horrible as to what President and Mrs. Obama have had to go through with the media and nastiness due to their being black for the past four years.

As much as I disliked Bush, An 9:17, I would agree with you. I also thought Jeb would pick up at the convention, but I believe like most Repubs with a brain, they have decided to sit out this election. While I voted for Pres. Obama, I was unhappy at least the first two and a half years. Today, I would walk through fire for him. Hope he stays this strong for the next four.

He might suffer from poor circulation, and I know how painful that can be in your extremities (think blue hands). He is wearing gloves to keep his hands warmer, not because he is grossed out by hugging someone's jacket. Idiot.

Ms. Tripp shows incredible courage and bravery in the telling of a very painful, true story. She was mistreated, exploited and manipulated by Todd Palin, the Alaska Police Department and several media outlets. Although she passed several polygraph tests and has solid evidence, they tried to discredit her and shut down her down at every turn. Ms. Tripp readily admits she made mistakes. But she did what she had to because of her love for her disabled children. No woman should be treated the way the she has been treated, even if they have made some bad choices in their lives. She bravely stands up for herself in this book and should be commended for that..

I hope this book and this story get the recognition and coverage it deserves. Her story is shocking, sad and empowering to women, all at the same time.

By Malia Litman - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)

This review is from: Boys Will Be Boys: Media, Morality, and the Coverup of the Todd Palin Shailey Tripp Sex Scandal (Volume 1) (Paperback)

Finally, we learn what the National Enquirer was afraid to say; what Todd Palin has never denied; what Sarah Palin's lawyer tried to cover up by asking the Anchorage Police Department to issue a false press release to the National Enquirer. Todd Palin WAS reported by William Fortier as coming and going from Shailey Tripp's place of business. The Anchorage Police Department's records confirmed that. Yet the APD declared that there "was not one scintilla of evidence" implicating Todd Palin in the house of prostitution.

In a compelling non-fiction account of the manipulation by Todd Palin of Shailey Tripp, Ms. Tripp reveals intimate details of the tragic story of her life and her sexual relationship with Todd Palin. Poor and destitute, Shailey Tripp lived in a public restroom with her two disabled children. She was so poor that were times when she didn't have enough money for toilet paper or sanitary napkins. This is the story of a predator taking advantage of a single mother who had lost all hope and turned to prostitution as the only alternative available to provide for her children. It is also the story of corruption in the state and federal governments in Alaska. Every man and woman in the country should read this account of the man who could have been the "First Dude" of America. Every Alaskan should be aware of the level of corruption in Alaska, and work to address this intolerable exploitation of both men and women.

If Shailey Tripp is brave enough to write this book, each of us should be brave enough to read it.

I have not ordered her book either, but....
Sometimes, we have to look at people and accept them as they are. Maybe she does not have the intellect or education to recognize appropriate grammar. I am sure her ghost writer does, so I am going to read her book as I believe it will be a very compelling story and one I need to store in my brain to use as fodder at my upcoming family reunion this summer.

I totally agree. I cannot even read her blog for fear of losing my grip on the English language. Months ago I urged her to get a ghost writer.

One loses enormous credibility by using poor grammar.

Thanks Bristol and Sarah for your comments trying to discredit Shailey for her use of grammar.... that is certainly the "pot calling the kettle black". hahahaha

Shaileys writing is fine just the way it is. She is a real person with real life experiences, not some fake politician or politicians daughter parading about as people they are not...

To me, her lack of training in formal English makes it seem much more real, an unpolished authenticity, if you will.

Consider the writing skills of the resident fairy tale troll on IM. Shailey writes better than the troll does.

I'd feel like shit if I lost to Obama, a man with no accomplishments or proven leadership ability before the Presidency and a man who lived up to exactly that once elected. FAILURE.

Anyone of substance and intellect will tell you he's ineffectual. Nothing this administration has done has affected anything about how the country financially runs. 1. Because nothing has taken place yet 2. Economies don't work like that 3. Government doesnt CREATE jobs. 4. Any businessman will tell you Obama is a failure to businessmen. I fear for what HCR will do once active

So it looks like they're going for the Jeremiah Wright redux, in which they seek to destroy Obama, but failing that, settle on destroying another black man.

Well, we can play this guilt by association game, too - we have a hell of a lot more material to work with. Let's highlight, over and over and over and over, that Sarah Palin supports a secessionist political party founded by a man who said he didn't want to be buried under "the damn flag of America." Let's persistently and consistently keep calling out her husband for being a MEMBER of this party for SEVEN YEARS.

I am telling you, if everyone that wants to defend Obama on this issue, including famous pundits and non-famous people, takes this tactic, the media will be forced to do so as well. And Palin's free pass on that astounding part of her past will finally come to a screeching (no pun intended) halt.
