Let's end the day with some beauty courtesy of Alaska.

Downtown Anchorage.
These are some pictures that Dennis Zaki sent me of last night's gorgeous sunset.

I just did not want the last thing posted on my blog to be Ann Coulter's unfortunate visage. I'm sure you understand my reasoning.

Gorgeous! I saw the same deep golden sky last night here (Seattle area) and thought maybe there was a fire to the west of me as I'm not used to such deep color :) How wonderful to share such a colorful ending to a day. I love the picture with the airplane in particular.

The pic with the airplane is my favorite as well.

Dennis is so talented. If nothing else, I believe your blog will give Dennis a lovely base of customers if he ever decides to publish his work in a book, or some such.

The only ugliness in Alaska was brought there...

Beautiful. Thank you Gryphen, not just for posting these gorgeous images but for all you do to push back the darkness of ignorance, lies and fear.

Sunny, how exactly does Gryphen "push back the darkness of ignorance, lies and fear?" He biasedly reports things only a small portion of the country believes and he perpetuates lies about the country as a whole. Open your mind, life is beautiful.

FYI re Susan G. Komen for the Cure

NBC Nightly News did a segment on the organization and how it remains in turmoil. Donations and race registrations are down :) in Louisiana, Florida, Texas.(Red States!!). New York City CANCELLED it's Gala.

The Chairman of the Board today stepped down, being replaced by a previous Chairman, who is close to Nancy Brinker. Three top execs have resigned including Executive VP/Chief Marketing Officer. Brinker has been called to resign by many but the Board still has confidence in her.

IMO: Of course -- the smart ones have been leaving and it's her pond scum that remains.

thanks, Gryph, for a peaceful night cap!

for IM'ers of a certain age: you will remember the TV show, Miami Vice. I have been watching it on Hulu. Wow. And there is a dedicated wiki that really helps identify the music. Some of the most beautiful video footage ever.

And, something else I just figured out. In 1985 when the show started, the population of Miami/Dade was 890,000; in 2010 it was 2.5 million. No wonder everything looks so spacious!
