Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

This may not be entirely fair to Mittens. But it is DEFINITELY unfair to the babies.
Just look at how expressive and interested he is when he interacts with even the youngest children. I love a man who is comfortable around kids and especially babies. Michelle, you picked yourself a great baby daddy.
Good grief! This man HAS children, no? Did he carry THEM in that unbearably awkward looking "it's a bird- it's a plane- it's...a bomb I'm trying to diffuse!" manner?
What makes photos of Romney and babies or small children truly frightening is that babies are so perceptive- you just know they are screaming their heads off thinking "he's going to put me on the roof! He's going to put me on the ROOF!!!"
Babies know who to trust and who isn't a danger to them.
Mr. Sketchy Corporations Are Him is a deadly, creepy clown robot.
I also am frightened by Mitt's holding babies as though he's going to toss them to a nanny. Mitt definitely handles babies as though he has zero experience with them. Very scary.
Mitt's problem is that he appears uncomfortable in his own skin. He has been running for President since 2007, maybe earlier. He seems driven to make up for the fact that his handsome, charismatic father didn't get the GOP nomination when he ran.
Mitt does not wear his wealth well. His wife does have a couple of Cadillacs, one on each coast. (I guess the one in California gets to ride in the garage elevator.) He laughs at a $10,000. bet or saying that $337,000. for speeches isn't much money. No, not compared to $250,000 million dollars.
Obama does appear comfortable with himself and who was and who he is. I remember when he was running for President, someone asked Michelle if she was frightened that something might happen to her husband (remembering Colin Powell who didn't want to run because of racist threats). Michelle said that every time Obama went out, on the South Side of Chicago to fill his car with gas, he was at risk. In light of the Trayvon Martin killing, President Obama CAN identify with people who are profiled. He did not always lead Romney's life of privilege.
One more word about Michelle Obama who decided that her children would not be on the campaign trail. She sat them down, explained what could happen to their lives if their father was elected, and they made the typical promise that many parents make-- if you are good, we'll get a dog. It's too bad that Sarah (and Todd) didn't have the same perspective about what the campaign and public attention would do to their children. I don't think that Bristol, Willow or Piper would have been satisfied with a dog. Piper ended up with a designer handbag, her own personal pink Sharpie pen and attitude. Bristol and Willow have attitude to spare. (Welcome, Trolls). Parading pregnant Bristol on the public stage for two months was terrible thing to do. I guess Sarah had as much compassion and self awareness as a guy who would put a dog on the roof of his car for a 12 hour road trip to Canada.
I think the Obamas would have liked to have had more children, and that he in particular would have loved to have had one or more sons. It just seems written in his body language. They both love children. Every time I see Michelle with her own children, or other children, she seems so at ease, so willing to be playful and communicate with them on their own level.

Gryphen, OT but just saw the following tweet: Tuesday @todayshow exclusive: @SarahPalinUSA live in studio. A side you haven’t seen…More to come
The Peebots have turned this into Sarah is co-hosting The Today Show , in direct competition with Katie Couric, who is sitting in for Robin Roberts while Robin is on vacation.
I LOVE that shot of the little boy feeling the President's hair...sooo adorable and it shows a lot about the President's awareness of his place in history!
It's very clear that the President loves children of all sizes while Mittens loves only the photo ops they provide on the rare occasion he can get the picture taken before they start screaming!
Everything points to him being a distant, not-hands-on dad.

That made me laugh out loud. Mind you, I do believe you're right!
DeleteHA HA, The best comment ever! The essence of Romney!

Wonder why he (Rmoney) always has to throw the babies out and/or up in the air - rather than 'cuddle' them as our POTUS does?
ReplyDeleteHe is such a mess -- and anyone like him would surely NEVER be any where near any baby or child of mine.

DeleteThat's all the US and world need another son with a father pathology to be our president.
Mitt's hung up about daddie.
Rick is hung up about male sex.
Ron is hung up about every thing.
And Newt is hung up about his manhood.
For a guy with five kids he sure is pretty bad with them. Perhaps he should STOP doing the "Superman" move.
ReplyDeleteHow cute!! The Obama babies are contented babies.
ReplyDeleteHeck, why does Mitt hold them like they're a human missile?
Mitt holds a child just like Sarah...away from their face, awkwardly, toward the camera. The President makes eye contact, coos, and is genuine.
ReplyDeleteI think the Obamas would have liked to have had more children, and that he in particular would have loved to have had one or more sons. It just seems written in his body language. DeleteWho gives a shit what's "fair" to the Republicans, it's not like fairness constitutes any part of their mindset.
ReplyDeleteWhat can you expect from a man who put his dog on the roof for a 12 hour ride. He has no feeling or soul.
ReplyDeleteI think it is easy to guess that Mitt had next to nothing to do with his children when they were children.

OMG...The Today Show? Why, why, why? What relevant, interesting, original thoughts does she have? In a word...NONE!
DeleteCause Katie Couric (aka "The perky one with the microphone" will co host "The early show" next week.

I guess Sarah's FOX contract wasn't renewed. Gee, what a shame, she'll have to find another screeching outlet.

Always trust the children... they know good from evil......
DeleteThat photo always got to me. It would make a great "Norman Rockwell" poster, it's that iconic!
DeleteThat kid's feeling Barack's hair and knows that someone like himself CAN be President.
Yep, President Obama 1 Romney 0
ReplyDeleteGet used to it because it's happening again!
President Obama Won, Romney Zero
Did Romney ever hold any of his kids? He looks awkward as hell. And the kids look scared out of their minds.
