Too bad he said, "Maybe I'm an immigrant..." The stupid birthers will be all over that.

He did NOT say that "maybe I'm an immigrant." He was speaking rhetorically about someone saying "maybe I'm an immigrant."

06:30 AM: Do you honestly expect that birthers would include enough context to make that clear?

Compare that to "Grey Poupon" Romney and the GOP who won't stop until we're a third world country.

How can anyone think the woman-hating money grubbing GOP is good for this country?

As i was watching this I couldn't help but think about the question I was asked today by a neighbor down the road form me. I am getting some work done ( new roof, kitchen and bath remodel) and my contractor is Hispanic and so are his workers ( all American born) and they do a fantastic job at a fair price,I have told him to raise his prices because i think he is undercutting himself. Anyways i was out on the lawn admiring the nice job they were doing and my neighbor comes up to me and asks " Are they all legal? " quite loudly. I told her they are all American but they don't mind doing work for Immigrants. One of the gentlemen walked back from their van with some supplies snickering.lol She looked at me confused and I reminded her I'm Canadian and asked if she would like to see my papers. LOl I have never seen her nosy butt move that fast in the whole time I've lived here. Why can't people just treat each other like people.

That's a wonderful story. I had some fun at the doctor's office recently when three older women were talking loudly about their Republican club activities and one woman was complaining about the health history form and its questions about black lung disease. I could not help myself and I interrupted and said, "isn't it wonderful that the federal government finally took action and gave relief and help to those poor miners who ended up with this terrible disease." I also would have liked to mention how wonderful it is that, under "Obamacare," Medicare now covers annual physical examinations for women like all of us sitting in the waiting room. Previously you were allowed one complete physical examination paid for by Medicare. One for the rest of your life. Sometimes you just have to speak up!

  8. It's funny as hell that now the US is worried about REVERSE migration.

Technically O/T but, arguably, really the only topic that matters: Ok, Gryphen, Rmoney is the semi-official opponent and it's time to get serious. (Not that taunting and mocking the Screechy Wretch(tm) isn't fun but perhaps that irrelevant hag is becoming a distraction.)

I am requesting - seriously, for once - that you consider putting up for discussion the topic of how the average person can help our president win re-election in November.

You and your readers are thoughtful, knowledgable, motivated citizens. Can our efforts affect the outcome? Is it thru campaign donations, volunteering at the local campaign office, working a phone bank, displaying lawn signs, a combination of efforts, etc?

For example, there are lots of phone bank opportunities in this area - they expect you to use your own cell phone for the calls - but I wonder to what extent that effort makes any difference. I'm not sure who they actually call. It wont affect current Obama supporters, it won't convert Obama haterz and it's virtually incapable of convincing any fence-sitters. And it certainly annoys many recipients. Is it worth doing?

Not that I needed to be convinced, but the more I hear Rmoney speak - with his empty anti-Obama rhetoric and that REALLY annoying snapping sound in voice that I couldn't bear to hear for 4-8 years - the more devastating I believe would be the consequences of a failure to re-elect President Obama. What are IM visitors planning to do to prevent this from happening?

I work for OFA, in many ways, but mostly on the phone, what's important is we keep his name and his accomplishments front and center.
I have an unlimited phone plan, so it's no biggie to make calls across the US. You'd be surprised how many people just need someone to listen to their grievances, then explain why President Obama has their back.
Then hooking them up with a ride to the polls or explaining absentee ballots if they can't make it. Every bit helps, we need to get out the vote.

WE have a gorgeous President. With intelligence, smarts, compassion, and charisma to go with that.

I am so glad Barack Sr. and Ann met.

    Four More Years!
It's immigration that made this country, it's our diversity that makes us strong, the GOP doesn't get it.
