WasTHIS the ultimate goal of the Supreme Court's Citizen United ruling?

Courtesy of TPM:

A new poll by the Brennan Center of Justice found that one in four Americans is less likely to vote in 2012 because of fears that candidates are catering to interests of super PAC donors.

“Unlimited spending by supposedly independent super PACs is creating widespread perceptions of corruption and undermining public confidence that elected officials serve in the public interest,” Adam Skaggs, senior counsel for the Brennan Center’s Democracy program, said in a statement. “The perception that super PACs are corrupting government is making Americans disillusioned, and an alarming number say they are less likely to vote this year.”

You can bet your ass that the one person in four who is LESS likely to vote is the liberal. You know, the guy that believes in fairness and equality?

They are coming at us from everywhere this election cycle.  Mandatory ID laws,  disenfranchising minority voters, voter caging, and now using SuperPACs to discourage participation.

Well fuck this!  In my opinion that just means WE need to work harder to get out the vote and make damn sure that the people in this country realize what is at stake if they are ignorant enough to sit this one out.

I don't care HOW carefully the deck is stacked in favor of the conservatives in this country, cheaters should NOT get to win in this country!  And I certainly hope that all of you feel the same way!

Damn I'm tired of this shit!

Conservatives LOVE to have the deck stacked in their favor. That is the only way they know how to win.

It makes me want to fight harder. It makes me angry. And it makes me want to vote every single Republican out and never let them back in.

How stupid for people to think that sitting out an election is the right way to fight the Citizens United ruling! The only way to fight it is to be sure to vote and to make a contribution, however small, to the candidate(s) you support.

People who whine that they're not voting because of super pacs are really not voting because they are lazy and not good citizens.

Was there a President of the United States from 2000-2008? Oh right, George W. Bush. Isn't it just amazing that the GOP never speaks about him. He did not speak at their last RNC convention. Probably won't come to their convention this year either. He has not endorsed Willard Romney for the 2012 nomination. He is ashamed to show his face, because he knows, as we all know, that he was a complete and total failure as President. In fact, he was President in title only, he was manipulated and controlled by Dick Cheney and Karl Rove. The ultimate right-wing puppet.

The GOP wants Americans to forget all about George W. Bush. Everything is President Obama's fault. Trying their best to rewrite history. Don't fall for it. Willard Romney is George W. Bush's brother from another mother. They do however, have the same daddy, Karl Rove.

    FIGHT THE POWER !

I contend that Karl Rove & Company, and the Right Wing handlers of the GOP, deliberately did not want to win the 2008 Presidential election. That is why they allowed John McCain to win the GOP nomination, and select Ms. Dumbass as his running mate. They knew all to well, how badly they fucked up the economy, and did not want another Republican near the White House, to further illuminate just how badly they mismanaged the country over the past 8 years. They wanted no accountability for their errors, so old man McCain and his harlot, became the sacrificial lambs.

History now shows, that their real strategy all along, was to capture the House and Senate in 2010. They already had bought the Supreme Court, so their mission was to block all of President Obama's initiatives, and blame him for their failures, to enhance their chances of reclaiming the White House in 2012. So now that are putting all of their chips on Willard. The 2nd coming of George W. Bush, the perfect puppet. These are some evil despicable bastards. We all better WAKE UP soon.

    FIGHT THE POWER !

We need term limits on all branches of our government. Some of these Judicial appointees, Senators, and Representatives, simply have just been their respective jobs, TOO damn long. They become set in their ways, and see the world through the prism of the past. Just think, John McCain learned how to use the internet 2 years ago. Why is it that there are term limits for the office of the President, but Supreme Court Judges, Senators and Representatives, literally get to die in office?

The so-called balance of power in our government, is a farce. We need term limits , so that we can recycle our officials and judges, to more adequately represent the evolving complexity of the people.

Remember the judicial branch of our government....it has slid into the darkness and is become a part of the borg. (Okay, no borg. :) But we the people have been too complacent about the judiciary, while the GOP rank on and on about "activist" judges. It is smoke and mirrors. Yes, the GOP lies. They could not get away with the truth.

I agree that Mittens is the next puppet. They just had to tell him that he would be KING.

Yay Gryphen! This is no time to sit home on our asses and whine about how it's not fair. Who ever said politics was fair? Palin and the rest of the far right use our naivete against us- it's one of their greatest weapons. They laugh when we are so incensed with their lies that we drown in our own indignation. We need to wake up now because it is far easier to maintain ground than to recover it later. If we value our our personal freedom, our rights to a healthy life and healthy environment, and opportunity for education and employment we need to be ever vigilant and protect them. There will always be a force of greed and power that we need to keep in check. As they get craftier, we need to be smarter and stronger. I think Obama hits the right pitch most of the time. It's about being centered and confident; informed and united. And it's about keeping an eye on the real threat, not swaying to every shiny object they dangle to distract. Thank you for doing your part with this blog. I know you and the rest of the Alaska Bloggers will be all over this recent Miller development.

I never understood that mentality. It's like cutting off your chin to spite your face. And these are the same people who Whine and Complain because their "pet cause" wasn't addressed in four years, with the cards stacked against him, and the do nothing Congress projects their obstruction onto him and the constitution.
