Colorado Rep. Mike Coffman gives worst response to reporter's question EVER!

You can absolutely see him trying to get the response he rehearsed exactly right in his head before he responds.  The whole thing makes him sound like an old fashioned phonograph with the needle stuck.

If I lived in Colorado, and this was MY congressman, I would be writing a letter to his office right now expressing my disgust and making damn sure he was not elected in the next election cycle.

  1. He's bought and paid for. He says whatever the rich guys want him to say. We don't need any more of these in Washington.

You can say that again :)

No, NO -- it's not the WORST response. The worst would be whatever he would have said instead. Someone coached him well, given his level of smarts and articulateness.

  3. I'm in Boulder and of course we are happily represented on all fronts by democrats :)

Then again, this nimrod is technically a representative from my state, if not my district. I have a strong feeling he will be unceremoniously shown the door come election time, especially what with the redistricting.

He pissed off democrats and rational independents and republicans with his comments about the President. Then he went and pissed of the extremists by taking it back.

I live in Colorado. My congressman is doug lamborn of "tarbaby" fame. I appreciate your advise regarding writing letters etc. but that doesn't accomplish one damn thing if you live in a red county. I've written letters, made phone calls and everything in my power to let lamborn know what a fucking racist piglet he is. It gave me personal satisfaction and got it off my chest, but come november doug lamborn will be reelected. I live in El Paso county & that's the way it is. I'm sure there are folks in Elbert county that are embarrassed by & hate coffman but he will win. As long as creeps like this don't aspire for a state or national office they will prevail. Remember Ken Buck? He was from Weld county, another red county in Colorado, on a local level he would win, it was when he set his sites on senator that we pulverized him...Gryphen, it's sort of like with your kids, you pick your battles. Quite frankly it's a wasted effort to try to stop these rubes on a local level, you have to wait until they set their sites higher.

I feel your pain. Our current Kansas Senators are worthless when it comes to responding to constituent complaints. They simply ignore them - both are Republicans. Of course, one of our former Senators was also a Republican and is now our Governor (Sam Brownback) is pushing some of the most regressive legislation on the sly because even though he won't listen to voters who complain, he isn't all that secure about his horrid, anti-woman policies. He keeps a low profile, unlike your two Colorado Reps, but he is just as a scummy when it comes to policy. He just doesn't let people know what he is doing most of the time.

Sometimes one can get a letter to the editor published and it has a chance of reaching a swing voter. I agree about talking to scum like Lanbourn and Coffman. If it wastes their time good, but it unfortunately also wastes yours.

It was like "name, rank and serial number" only. The reporter was a hostile foreign force.

Yep, he was definitely coached and I like how the reporter went after him.

This guy is an idiot! I also live in Colorado. He thinks he can say anything when he gets out of blue Denver, but out here in the Red part they can say anything. Since Bill Owens made such a mess with his dishonesty, the GOP hasn't had any good candidates since. We are getting Bluer than ever. Been solicited to have a Dem meeting in my home, but doubt if there would be more than 3-4 show up! It's very Red out here. Was a Democratic election judge for years and attended all the caucus meetings. I'm old now and crippled with a very ill husband so my political warrior days are over. We vote by mail. Happy I was active as a younger person, but just not up to fighting it now. But I doubt very much this idiot will be going anywhere now. President Obama was here yesterday to speak at the Air Force Academy and a fund raiser in Denver. He is getting the workers out and the money coming in. He makes several stops here to keep everyone on the job. Seems the GOP is in disarray in Colorado and Coffman is one example. He's already had several TV ads on but think after this fiasco he will flame out early. Tom Tancredo could always run again on the Libertarian ticket! :-) It's worse on the western slope with all those oil frackers over there! Teabaggers all the way! Uffda!

    O/T - Levi

How convenient for a very soon to air reality show that 'a source' sells, I mean tells, to US Weekly that Levi's broke and living with him mom.

Hmmm -- wonder who's bank account contains the $$$ from US Weekly?

I dare you Brisket to post as a bagger anon and deny.

Hear there's a 'hit' in the waiting that will take your reality show off air as the Slut who's been fucking everything that walks in pants anywhere near her -- that film they're using is from the failed reality show with your Disney Bud. You can't even be original. Sloppy Seconds -- Just like you. Hell -- it's so used -- the guy would fall in never to be seen again it's so big!

He has a salable story to tell. Not the Hogwash he's already sold the public. Does he have the courage?

3:32 - He's had his chances, in mags, interviews & a book. Nobody would believe him now. He's be compared to being a golddigger looking for the next 15 mins of fame. Majority think he's been on overtime of his first 15!!

I watched Dick Cheney answer the question put to him by a reporter, years ago ("Mr. Vice President, over two thirds of the American people think we should never have invaded Iraq." Cheney: "So?"

That should have started impeachment procedings.

Instead, its the inspiration for shitheads like this guy Coffman, to act like he is above the law, and above where he has to act like a public servant.

I sure hope he doesn't get away with it.

I live in Coffman's district. Today The Denver Post published Coffman's written apology, which expanded on his"I misspoke and I apologize" repeated comment. It sounds like what a military prisoner would say to his captors.

I will be working to defeat Coffman this fall.

The string hanging out of his ass speaks volumes. Tell a lie often enough, and you'll believe it. He's doing it on steroids and red bull.

    What a snot!
