Mitt Romney connects with the kids. And by "connect" I mean he sits in their classroom looking totally out of place.

Here's Mittens showing he's TOTALLY down with the kids today by hanging with some students at the Universal Bluford Charter School, Philadelphia. (Of course it had to be a CHARTER school!)

I was going to write some humorous labels under each of the pictures but really how could you improve on these?

He looks SO uncomfortable and out of place it is almost like the Obama campaign set up this photo-op.

(H/T to the Obama Diary.)

Update: Okay this might not be fair, but I am going to include this picture anyhow.

I know, I am SO mean!

If you go to the Obama Diary site, you will see a gentleman in Muslim attire in one of the photos. The Universal Charter schools were started by Kenny Gamble. A high percentage of the students are Muslim. Kenny (I don't recall his Muslim name) is the guy in the photo, I believe. The schools serve very low income neighborhoods. I wonder if he will catch any flack for pallin' around with terrorists.... Also, during the last presidential campaign, one of the Universal schools was pretty much an Obama campaign office during the non-school hours. I know someone who teaches there. The Universal faculty is universally pro-Obama.

  5. Can't get any black people at his rallies - so this is the solution?? Poor kids - I'd sue the school if my child was in that class. There is a BIG difference between a child meeting a President vs being forced into a political campaign.

So his campaign manager says to Romney, "Look, we need to show how well you can connect with kids. And that you don't hate blacks. So we've set up this thing you're gonna go to a nice, wealthy charter school and sit with a bunch of uniformed, well groomed black kids. I swear, no cooties, Mitt! It will only be for a few hours. Easy A! O.K.? This will bring up your polling numbers with the woman and minorities for sure!!"

He doesn't see need, he doesn't see blight, he doesn't see poverty, he doesn't see OTHERS. If he's not worshiping, in the board room or watching Anne do her dressage, he may as well be unconscious.

Frank Bailey let us know in his book that when Sarah was governor, she wrote letters to the editors using fake names, praising herself to boost her popularity in Alaska. She also had friends and family writing those letters. When we see that Bristol is receiving death threats, it reminds me of the other letters that Palin wrote, affecting public opinion.

Speaking of death threats, playing victim seems to be a favorite game of the Palins. Instead of reporting threats of rape to the police or the school officials in Juneau, Sarah reported the "threats" to the media. If there were serious death threats, the police would advice Bristol and Sarah to forward the threat-- along with the IP number and any other information. If the threats come from another state, the FBI can be called. The police and the FBI will not want the threats publicized because it would alert the person doing the threatening and harm the investigation. Anytime that threats are reported to the media instead of the authorities, it is another game of playing the victim.

The Palins do not have anything of real substance to say, so they thrive on the attention generated by playing the victim-- that is when they aren't heckling people, hurling insults, and carrying grudges. Those grudges get heavy after four years.

Thanks, Bristol, I hope that Trig is receiving good therapy and that he will be happy and reach his potential to develop.

The reason why the Truth about Trig matters is because Sarah is well paid to speak on Fox and repeat political talking points. If Sarah was a private citizen, I would agree with you. The Palin Family life should be private. However, we have the right to judge anything that Sarah says publicly, since she plans on endorsing and vetting candidates in the coming election. If she lied about Trig, then we have to evaluate everything else that she says, including her lies about President Obama. She remains a public figure, and she therefore subject to public criticism.

The same goes for you, Bristol, as long as you choose to air your private life on TV. It is a fabricated, make believe life, and a terrible example for other girls who will think that if they get pregnant, they, too will end up on TV and become stars. Teaching your kid to stick out his tongue at anyone is a terrible example to set. And, yes, as long as you want to put this on TV, it is fair game for criticism.

As long as the three of you continue to live a lie, and live your lives in public, you will be evaluated and criticism. If you want privacy, the choice is yours.

I wonder why we haven't seen the same kind of warm, fuzzy photos of Sarah Palin with children. Look at the body language between Sarah and her own kids in this photo: http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.313055!/img/httpImage/image.jpg

It's not Sarah's fault. Innocent children can sense evil, and they're keeping their distance.

    Mitt was in Philly, right?
The entire AA community was laughing about this. The AA workers in my hospital were brutal with their comments.

Romney looks scared of those blah... children.

Good grief. Not one child is looking at Mitt or giving off any sense that they are aware of his presence. In the photo with the president, all eyes are glued on him except for the boy who is proudly leading the way while smiling for the camera. Let's hope pictures like these are worth a thousand words and a few million votes.

Why should Romney be uncomfortable? It's just a classroom with children raising their hands and behaving like schoolchildren do.

  54. Mittbot 5000™ can't even convincingly pretend as though he's enjoying himself. Of course, as a cyborg, he is incapable of emulating human emotion. "Does not compute!"

    What an asshat.
