The President heard Romney whining about an apology, and it looks like he has a response.
"Yeah, like THAT'S going to happen!"
In fact here is a video that the Obama campaign threw together to address the VERY idea of an apology.
I think there may be an apology due alright, but it certainly is NOT one that needs to come from the President.
"Vom Ruecken durch die Brust ins Auge" (from the back through the chest into the eye) is an old description of an attack by someone wielding a Krummsaebel, a scimitar.
It is also a term used in colloquial German for a philosophical or psychological surprise attack by taking an opponent's argument and reversing it to use to one's own advantage.
As much as the phrase "stuff/cram it down the throat" make me nauseous (look up warfare and torture if you wonder why), I am in favor of including it in the litany of the Romney travesty of what should be a legally fair competition.
As any semblance of fairness evaporated with Citizens United and other seemingly politically motivated SCOTUS decisions, those of us who want to move toward a more equitable society must fight for that vision.
He's got such a stuttering, plugged-nose way of talking doesn't he? He lived in Paris and his dad in Mexico. Is he going to fudge the truth to prove he's an American citizen to run for office the way he did to run for Mass Governor?
"Harumph harumph, I'm so dignified and important. Harumph harumph, give me credence because I'm rich. Don't investigate the Reagan/Bush, Sr./Bush, Jr./Cheney reasons for my becoming a millionaire, cause I want to do the exact same things to harm the 99% to make those goals achievable to my peeps, the 1%."
Hot damn, but the Obama campaign is sharp! Talk about a 1-2 punch this weekend. First, my new favorite ad of all time ("Firms"), and not this response. If you can't stand the heat Willard, get the hell out of the kitchen.
To borrow a phrase from Christine O’Donnell, the Obama campaign is telling Romney to put his man pants on. As the man at the top of the organization, Mitt Romney isn’t used to being challenged by anyone. What he says goes. Due to his position of extreme wealth, Romney is never challenged in his daily life either.
Romney is having trouble operating in the world of presidential electoral politics where declaring that voters don’t need to see his tax returns, and that he left Bain when he said he did, isn’t enough. Romney s acting like an insulated, spoiled rich boy who can’t handle not getting his own way.
The Romney campaign’s pathological demands for apologies and retractions show a campaign that can’t take a punch.
O/T a bit: regarding Mittens buddy attempt to get Mittens off the hook re: Bain 1999 - 2002.
So, if Mittens was “retired” from 1999-2002, doesn’t that negate his ability to run for MA governor, since he used the Bain time as “proof” of residency?
Sounds like fraud to me – election fraud. MA – get investigating & get back all the money Mittens “earned” under false pretenses.
"When Romney was at Bain, taxpayers could PUT JUST $2,000 PER YEAR into an I.R.A. and $30,000 annually into another plan. How can Romney's I.R.A now contain UP TO $102 MILLION?
This Week had Rahm on today, (it's at the two minute part), he eviscerates Mitt's argument and does it with aplomb!
“He said ‘CEO, sole shareholder, president.’ You can’t — as president of the United States you can’t have a sign on your desk that says, gone fishing.’ You can’t put that on that desk. It’s basically the buck stops there,” said Emanuel. “You can’t say to the SEC, ‘I was the CEO, chairman and president, but I’m not responsible. I’m not accountable.’”
Even George Will said Romney's tactic is failing miserably.
I don't usually watch this show, but to see it on a MSM program, followed by Kelly Alyotte(sp?) trying to defend Mitt while, well, "whining" was Solid Gold!
I think Romney doesn't have enough time to turn this around effectively. After awhile, his "carpetbomb" ads start sounding like white noise. It's time to unzip Mitt!
Could someone please tweet that picture to Romney's staff? That's awesome! Love the big smile on President Obama.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't Romney release all those tax returns he gave to McCain? Whats the big deal.
Mitt is such and empty suit.
ReplyDeleteThe President is playing him like a banjo.

Well done, Obama Campaign!

Romney deserves an apology when he apologizes to all the people who he fired after raiding their companies and makes restitution for their losses.
ReplyDeleteIt's about time!!!

ha ha I just showed my husband the above picture and the first thing he said about Romney was, "Who does he think he is? Sarah Palin or Bristol?".
