Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
Rachel Maddow Slams Romney’s Long History Of Hypocrisy On Tax Returns
Rachel Maddow took a look into Mitt Romney‘s political past tonight to explain just how Romney has gone back-and-forth on the issue of releasing tax returns, from his failed 1994 bid to unseat Ted Kennedy to his successful run for Massachusetts governor in 2002 to the current presidential race. She highlighted an offer Romney made in 1994 to release his returns after Kennedy did, an offer which an advisor said was still valid eight years later, and wondered if the offer was still on the table.
In other words, drop it now and do less damage to the gays Jesse. I told you that if they stuck it in our faces they would be on the losing side. Face it, people will accept homosexuality as long as it's not promoted all out of proportion. Keep it themselves but that doesn't mean they need to hide it. By all means come out of your closet soon!
Or do't drop it, suit yourself. It's only getting to be a bigger laugh at your expense!
As much as I like Stewart he REALLY missed the mark on this one.
Makes me wonder who he has hired recently...he knows better and the information has been very public.
This and his over the top, 2 day tirade against Harry Ried are "disheartening"...one more program like either of these and I will stop watching.
A Chicago congressman has been on Hardball and numerous other programs, since this latest fiasco, talking about how he has been in negotiations with Chick-fil-A for ~~9months~~ over their employee practices...BEFORE...this came to national attention....in order to grant them a business license, for which they are now being criticized.
Sadly, in many states it is not even illegal to fire people because they are gay.
THIS is what Chick-fil-A supports.....it's owner gives $$$ to support the evangelical groups mentioned in this article.
Ugandan Religious Leaders Want 'Kill the Gays' Bill Revived

Uganda watchers say that the change by the Ugandan Catholic church is “very serious” and that the UJCC resolution was pushed by an Anglican Bishop.
Another concern is that, according to the East African, Ugandan President Yowari Museveni is backing his wife, Janet, to take over from him in 2016. She has close ties to American evangelical dominionist Christian groups and is widely believed to be a force behind the “Kill the Gays” bill.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wealth gives Chick-fil-A’s owners an outsize impact on our politics: As we’ve been reminded this week, the company channels millions of dollars into anti-gay organizations. But its impact on national policy is nothing compared to its influence over the lives of its employees. Comments from the company’s founder suggest that Chick-fil-A embraces its legal right to reward and punish employees’ private behavior. And a series of lawsuits allege that managers have wielded their authority over workers in ways that break the law: firing a Muslim for refusing to pray to Jesus; firing a manager so that she’d become a stay-at-home mom; and punishing workers for objecting to sexual harassment.
Get the real facts about Chick-fil-A. It isn't all about their "disagreement" on gay marriage.
ReplyDeleteChick-Fil-A's corporate profits fund hate groups that do awful things, like support the Ugandan "Kill The Gays" bill.
