It is obvious that the Republicans are simply going to continue lying about this regardless of how many times journalists and Democrats try to correct the record.
However hopefully we can help to get the truth out to some of the low information voters who are currently still confused about just who is not telling the truth.
Here's a hint, their name rhymes with Rethuglican.
In the 21st century, when we have the internet, it should be easy as pie to discredit liars.
ReplyDeleteWHY don't the Democrats have a home page where it is simple for one to find the truth?
(Again, the key here is: SIMPLE.)
Imagine how effective it would be if anyone could click and find the actual document, perhaps with the germane passage(s) highlighted.
Conversely, WHY doesn't anyone challenge the liars to show the highlighted portion of the document where they say the heinous theft took place?
"Barack Obama stole $716 billion from Medicare..."
"SHOW US the document or STFU!"
The DC metro area has been blanketed with Romney ads telling outright lies about Medicare. Thanks for this graphic; I'm passing it on.
ReplyDeletePresident Obama and the Democrat party never lie...why don't these brainwashed right wing repubs realize that...go get them Mr President!
ReplyDeleteJust a minor quibble about this ad: The word should be "preventive". "Preventative" is a noun.
ReplyDelete@Randall: You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink it. Substitute horse for Rethug and water for internet site, and there's your problem! People read what they want to read, and not always what they should read.
Romney/Ryan plan for the economy includes Soylent Green factories.
ReplyDeleteNo Medicare will be needed.
I've been waiting for that solution to the golden years ever since I first saw "Soylent Green" many years ago. It wold be the perfect solution for the GOP; it's not surprising that Charleston Heston was in the movie
DeleteIn short, Lofgren says the modern, post-Eisenhower GOP has morphed into a cult, led by plutocrats and their elected, media and faux intellectual minions, who have crafted an elaborate, continual ruse to serve the rich at all costs – even the cost of the country itself. And he explains how that cult recruited, and retains lower income, low information white Americans, and why they are pushing headlong to stop non-white/Christian/straight Americans from voting at all. (Hint: its partly Democrats’ fault for letting them do it unassailed.)

This is the graphic dumb people need to see, real plain and simple. The Dems need an ad of seniors that know the changes Obama made are working NOW, the donut hole and wellness stuff without co pays. That would say...lets go back would mean LOSING benefis right now. AARP should be saying that, get the people on saying what is happening now with Obamacare, not the future krap. It is amazing we actually pay Ryan to lie for a living...I want a refund from Congress.
ReplyDeleteThe unfortunate fact that there are far too many low-information Republican voters. Connect that with a surge of Obama haters and BIG Money flowing freely into the coffers of Romney and the other nitwit Ryan-- and we have a scary presidential race.
ReplyDeleteThe stupid, the ignorant, the racists have been given a platform to rail and vote against President Obama. I do not take anything for granted in November. The thought of Romney and Ryan being elected is more than scary. It would be the downfall of this country. It would only benefit those who are uber wealthy. Good luck America!
Be involved Now...before the election. Don't assume anything is a given. Don't hesitate to volunteer. Make your voice heard and help others find their voice as well. If you love America, then get busy Now!
I agree. We did it last election, now isn't the time for complacency, especially in the states with voter i.d. laws.
DeleteI just don't see how people could be stupid enough to vote for Romney and Ryan. (I'm talking about the independents mainly.)
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such a creepy twosome and Romney's wife would make a horrid first lady!
@anon 8:56... You are absolutely right. We have to make our voices heard, and more than that, we MUST remember that a win for Romney/Ryan, while difficult, is not the only thing we have to defeat:
ReplyDeleteThe House is already in GOP/TP hands, SCOTUS is at the very best a break-even, and the Senate is hamstrung by the indiscriminate use of the Filibuster, with the result that for Democrats to get anything done, they will have to have a 60 seat majority, which is at this time illusory.
This is the dire situation in which we Progressives find ourselves, and this is the reason we MUST coordinate our efforts. There is little support coming from the corporate/military/industrial/Wall Street interests, because they know they own the Regressives and will do all they can to finally lift them into total power.

Thanks, fromthediagonal, you just stated what I wanted to comment, only much more articulately.
DeleteMy state has voter id laws which the Republicans stated would guarantee a win for Romney. We're knocking on doors, leaving notes on doorknobs if no one's home, organizing DMV rides to get the proper id's, and helping people reclaim their right to vote, along with all the things regular OFA volunteers do.
Too much is at stake.
