Ann Romney demands that conservatives stop criticizing her husband's rapidly deteriorating campaign.

Courtesy of Mediaite:

This is what Romney said on an Iowa radio station in response to a question about “fellow Republicans” criticizing the campaign.

“Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard. And, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and knowhow to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”

Yes, well of course THAT would Queen Antoinette Romney's answer to anybody who would DARE suggest that her husband's campaign was in free fall.

"How dare you peasants attack our royal personage! Off with your heads! What, this is America? Well then stop it! Stop it right now"

So much for Ann Romney showing the softer side of the campaign. Obviously she is just another over privileged bitch!

I remember when the Democrats were all in the proverbial circular firing squad. The Dems spent the 1980s taking pot shots at each other while all the R's marched in lockstep with Reagan.

It is nice to see the Dems united for a change and the R's taking swipes at one another. United we stand, divided they fall.

Oh and over on NewsMax Peggy Noonan has a response to Ann Romney's nasty attack.

"Former Ronald Reagan speechwriter Peggy Noonan is continuing her assault on Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign but has added a couple of words of advice: James Baker.

Earlier this week, Noonan wrote in The Wall Street Journal: “It’s time to admit the Romney campaign is an incompetent one. It’s not big, it’s not brave, it’s not thoughtfully tackling great issues. It’s always been too small for the moment. All the activists, party supporters, and big donors should be pushing for change. People want to focus on who at the top is least constructive and most responsible. Fine, but Mitt Romney is no puppet: He chooses who to listen to. An intervention is in order. ‘Mitt, this isn’t working.’”

On Friday, she wrote she was just being polite.

“The Romney campaign has to get turned around,” she said. “This week I called it incompetent, but only because I was being polite. I really meant ‘rolling calamity.’""

No Ann, the Romneys need to realize that the American citizens run the country through their elected representatives and that if we decide to hire her husband, he will work for us. Not the other way around.

    Oy.....

STFU, Anntoinette rMoney. It's called WORK. Yes, it is hard (especially if the endeavor is pointless, as is Willtard's campaign). Most of us in the US work HARD. Welcome to the experience of the 99%. Let me clue you in:

    Most of the US:

    Cooks their own food
    Cleans their own house
Drives themselves, IF they have a car
Has only 1 house or rents or is homeless
Has hobbies that they cannot write it off to the tune of $77k
Does not have a trust fund
    Does not have offshore accounts
    Cannot afford a 50K dinner
    Did not have millionaire parents
Struggles to get a good education for their children
    Struggles to make ends meet
    ETC... ad infinitum

"Mitt's qualifications" are completely undefined, as are his core principles. The only one of Mitt's values that's constant is his greed. Other than that he's a contortionist chameleon who will NEVER be president of our great nation. Fuck off to Kolob.

      Well said.

Another example of his 'stellar' business qualifications.(courtesy TBogg)

" Mitt Romney’s campaign handed out $112,500 in bonuses to four of its top staffers, according to new disclosure records filed Thursday.

Richard Beeson, Romney’s national political director, received a $37,500 payment on Aug. 31, in addition to his monthly salary of $13,750, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission.

In addition, campaign manager Matt Rhoades, policy advisor Lanhee Chen and communications director Gail Gitcho each received $25,000 payments on the same date, filings show. The trio are also paid at the same rate as Beeson, which works out to an annual equivalent of $165,000.

A Romney spokeswoman did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the payments Thursday.

The bonuses came the day after Romney formally accepted the Republican presidential nomination at the party’s convention in Tampa. Despite strong fundraising since May, new records show that the campaign was struggling badly for money in August because it had run low on primary funds and was unable to tap into contributions collected for the general election until after the nomination. Instead, the campaign borrowed $20 million."

In this interview, the emphasis on the word 'ALL' Americans -- as she believes they're entitled to the votes of 100% of the country and we're to believe her for his qualifications, etc. Screw her. It's the same when she was speaking to women that she 'guaranteed' he was supportive of women -- really? Fooled me. Add that she 'guaranteed' -- how would you recoup on that from what would be the worse First Lady in history.

    The snobbery is fluid.

If someone checked, they would find she has a Certificate from the Palin/Rethug University of 'Victimhood'.

You can be guaranteed that they're skin is crawling when they have to shake hands with the 'common folk'

What would she do when meeting a foreign leader and Mitt wasn't getting his way -- tell the foreign leader to 'stop it' and that Mitt's working hard.

Her interviews lately, and the attitude that comes with them, are so telling. This is a lady who clearly has been on the receiving end of some very bad news.

Not just "OK then, we need to regroup and re-double our efforts for these last six weeks." No, more like, "Sorry Maam but we've run the numbers and there is no plausible path to victory. The only question is how many other Republican cadidates we take down with us" kind of news.

No White House. No Black help. No big airplane. No trips abroad. No adoring crowds. No walk down Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day with your $20,000 new coat. No Easter Egg roll on the lawn with the grandkids. No portraits hanging on the White House walls. No authorized biographies. No made for TV movies.

Well, you get the point. Ann, we're smarter than you thought and you and Willard are dumber than we thought. It takes more than "It's our turn" for this to work. And you and the hubby ain't got it.

There is plenty of work to do before Election Day and we will do it. And the bad numbers you've seen in the past week or so will get worse. Run along now Ann. I think I heard your dressage horse calling you.

"Regarding the newly-filed 2011 Tax Return:

The Romneys’ generous charitable donations in 2011 would have significantly reduced their tax obligation for the year. The Romneys thus limited their deduction of charitable contributions to conform to the Governor’s statement in August, based upon the January estimate of income, that he paid at least 13% in income taxes in each of the last 10 years."

Chris Matthews just said that everyone was safe after the plane Ann was riding in had to make an emergency landing, I believe in Arizona.

I admit, because of this post and reading the many comments, I laughed as it immediately came to mind that it was actually Ann blowing smoke out her ears having a temper tantrum.

For over four years now, Barack and Michelle Obama have been called every name under the sun except children of God. They never respond, but rise above it with grace. Conversely, the Romney campaign is (rightfully) criticized, and Ann Romney throws a public hissy fit.

I can only hope this further evidence of Mittens and Queenie's "Romneys Über Alles" attitude sinks in with undecided voters.

Well Stated. The Romney's both have shown their true colors this past week, and President Obama and Michelle have both been measured in their response, very smart move.

I have a feeling that not only undecided voters, but many republicans have felt the sting of their insults, a lot of republicans fall into the categories of Americans Mitt demeaned in his speech.

Now, with the tax dump, I hope they're connecting the dots.

Wait, Ann asks media to stop it? So they can't vet the candidate? Ann says, "this is hard"; yes it is hard, but at least if Mitt doesn't win, he can go back to a secure life where he doesn't have to worry about inflation, job insecurity, rising gas prices, or unaffordable medical surgeries. He won't have to give up his home to pay off medical bills.

Ann asks, "You want to try it?" - Everyone knows that candidates are either very hard-working, determined, and get the little man's support, or are the rich, affluent, well-connected with the 1%. Those candidates like Romney don't make great sacrifices to run, they do it because daddy would have wanted them to.

This woman who has an over-abundant sense of entitlement can't see that, for her husband, it's a win-win situation whether he wins or not. And, she doesn't have to cramp her style on a lesser income.

It's the 'you people' that have a great stake in this election. It IS important (As if Queen Ann needs to remind people), and because people need a leader whose wife doesn't whine about her misunderstood husband, but behaves like a real First Lady and determines to make the best of any situation, Ann should STOP IT.

Er excuse me White-Bread Lady. No single body has the power to "run this country." The very idea that one can is precisely why your hubby is so ill-suited for the presidency. Government is not a "company." It is not ruled or bossed around; it is governed by three constitutionally endowed bodies of which the presidency is one. This power is about influence and friendly persuasion not directives, you ham-fisted amateurs. If we were to judge ability by the competence of your campaign, we'd say that Mr. Romney can't bloody well change a flat tire much less other people's minds.

Romney's Tax Summary issued and notarized.

Having once worked at a firm the same as Price-Waterhouse, it was not uncommon to have issued said notarized type document and then have to correct and re-issue due to errors, omissions, changes.

Said summary doesn't mean diddle. We're just supposed to 'trust' it. No freaking way.

One can not even imagine this prom queen as our first lady....Michelle is going to be the hardest act to follow EVER!!!! I can guess some people will even vote for Obama because of her. Yes the actual core of the matter is class...and both the Obamas have it in spades, when you think of the horrible things said by the Teabaggers and Palinbots in 2008,not to mention the signs and posters totally racial, and never did they lower themselves. Even now on every occasion the Prez could react to the current video and the embassy krap, he doesn't. Michelle said it best in her speech that politics don't change your character, it reveals it. We need a new word describing hypocrite...it just doesn't cover the Robmes. This man has 5 sons and the military means nothing to them....nothing. I am actually glad he picked Lyin Ryan, it means he gone too. Please America vote all these mean, hateful assholes out.

On Al Sharpton's show, he did a segment on Romney's taxes.

There was a three person panel of Crystal Ball, Ed Rendell and another gentlemen.

The gentlemen spoke that the summary of the 20 years set out that Romney 'owed' taxes.......and not the reference to Romney 'paid' taxes.

He then said he asked the campaign why the 'owed' and not 'paid' and they would not respond.

He explained what the difference meant of the wording which was very clear and intelligent.

The segment is not yet posted on MSNBC, but well worth a listen when they do. This 2011 tax return raises more questions than answers as he also 'voluntarily' paid an increased amount of taxes on the charitable portion being he only claim I believe 2.4 of 4 million. Had he claimed the whole charitable, he would have had a rate of 9% instead of the 14.1% her paid. His answer to a question that he paid at least 13% per year for last 20 years -- paid only what he legally owed and not a dime more or he would be disqualified as becoming president.

Thank You, Gryphen, and all commenters. I'm so glad to see so many people having the same reaction to the angry white lady who married the guy who got her home safe from the prom, who loves us women, who admonished everyone to "listen and obey", the woman who unzipped Mitt and revealed the real Mitt she knows and loves, almost as much as her social status and his not so blind trust and the life of luxury she considers normal.

The graphic is perfect, as usual. The clothes, the hand gesture, and the open faced snobbery is perfect. A fitting subtitle would be

Oh, and she thinks any criticism of Mittens will stop if he becomes president? She is fracking clueless!!

If I may be shallow for a moment, I think she is using the same people SP had for her hair and makeup - they are doing a good job for her.

BUT it looks like she is choosing her own clothes, and not asking a good stylist for input. Yes, everything fits well, but her choices are wildly expensive which play up how rich she is, and many of her prints make it look like she is dressing mutton like it is still lamb.

P.S. Money still can't buy class.
