Conservative columnist Peggy Noonan: "It’s time to admit the Romney campaign is an incompetent one."

Courtesy of the Wall Street Journal:

The central problem revealed by the tape is Romney’s theory of the 2012 election. It is that a high percentage of the electorate receives government checks and therefore won’t vote for him, another high percentage is supplying the tax revenues and will vote for him, and almost half the people don’t pay taxes and presumably won’t vote for him.

My goodness, that’s a lot of people who won’t vote for you. You wonder how he gets up in the morning.

This is not how big leaders talk, it’s how shallow campaign operatives talk: They slice and dice the electorate like that, they see everything as determined by this interest or that. They’re usually young enough and dumb enough that nobody holds it against them, but they don’t know anything. They don’t know much about America.

We are a big, complicated nation. And we are human beings. We are people. We have souls. We are complex. We are not data points. Many things go into our decisions and our political affiliations.

You have to be sophisticated to know that. And if you’re operating at the top of national politics, you’re supposed to be sophisticated.

Wow! That is pretty damning!

And that is not all that Noonan had in her quiver:

It’s time to admit the Romney campaign is an incompetent one. It’s not big, it’s not brave, it’s not thoughtfully tackling great issues. It’s always been too small for the moment.

Noonan goes on to almost literally beg the Republican establishment folks to step in and "right this ship," but that is almost like sending sailors onto the Titanic with only the stern still visible above the icy waters and asking them to bail in order to save the ship.

Too little, too late. Now the only thing left to do is make a movie about the disaster.

I wanted to attach a segment from one of the news shows here in order to illustrate just how much trouble Romney finds himself in right now.  There was certainly no lack of appropriate choices, but in my opinion NOBODY was having as much fun tearing Romney into bite size chunks as Lawrence O'Donnell was yesterday, so the choice became a no-brainer. Enjoy!

I don't like Noonan -- for 2 reasons. That she will lie for any candidate to the point her back teeth float in shit. Her spewing on Sunday morning is sickening & she thinks she's a freakin' queen of campaigns. She was a speech writer -- decades ago. Secondly -- It drives me insane how slow she speaks. If I was ever in front of her I'd want to pull on her tongue to pull the words out.

Yet, I will admit there was one thing in her post that I laughed at. Where she made reference to Romney holding on to campaign money for 'attacking' later. Noonan's reference back that by then people would want to poke their eyes out or something similar in that that is so true about the mega negative ads.

Then, learned by a report this morning, that Romney's campaign had to use the general campaign funds which he had not yet received until the convention -- as collateral for a loan. Seems the campaign had run dry!! All those mega $$$ he poured into the primaries left the campaign broke. That tells you -- he lacks small donors!!! Unfortunately it also tells you we still have to live through all the SuperPAC shit and lies.

Now when you hear he put up general funds for collateral -- wonder how much interest he charged the campaign to loan the funds.

Wonder if he'll go all Bain on them and in addition to interest, also charge a monthly 'management/consulting' fee and wipe out any reserves or future monies from the campaign. Oh how rich!

Congress needs to pass "Mitt's Law", that says:

    1. All candidates for POTUS and VPOTUS issue 10 years of tax forms.

    2. Any candidate that has foreign bank accounts is automatically not qualified to run for POTUS or VPOTUS.

The above picture of Romney (he looks horrible) shows that the inept race he is running is getting to him. The pressure must be horrid, but he brought it all on himself. He is not qualified to run the USA and I don't know how he became so rich. He would be an awful spokesman for America.

He seems to be nothing more than a goofus that tried to make himself appear as someone he wasn't and isn't. Ryan did the same thing. Americans will not be so gullible henceforth.

Get the Republicans out of office across the nation in the upcoming election folks!

  4. Republican angst over the inept Romney campaign is hard to take. It's all about marketing and how the campaign could better fool the electorate into voting against their interest and for the theocrats and oligarchs. Romney, pathetic as he may be, is still the best of the Republican candidates left after Pawlenty and Huntsman got out of the race.

Zina Saunders is creating some great illustrations to go along with the campaign. Remember her 2008 paintings of Palin riding the dinosaur, killing the Statue of Liberty, shopping, and in bed with McCain? Don't miss her take on Romney/Ryan.

  8. I want to ask her why she and other conservatives are urgently telling Romney how to correct his course, etc. in order to win this election.

They actually want a man they know to be without core, unable to competently run his own campaign, who's insulted foreign countries, doesn't understand foreign affairs or diplomacy, puts his foot in his mouth every time he isn't scripted, is inept socially with all but his inner band of gazillionaires, and on and on...to become President of the United States??? They want him to be President, knowing all that about him?

Why doesn't the idea of Romney in the Oval Office scare the bejeesus out of them as it does everyone else? I so wish I could ask her....

  9. and no matter what or who sez that Romney's campaign is dead in the water and headed for the bottom of the ocean (to keep that Titanic thing going)... we can NOT afford to get complacent! That's the main thing I have against claiming someone is outa the running, or doesn't have a chance.

    We cannot afford complacence! Period.

We're not. We're playing head games with the party of the 'stunned & stupid' making them believe we are so that they become complacent believing they won! Then as in the words of Jon Stewart -- "KABOOM".

When you see how easily they've fallen for the BS and lies, it can be done.

You're right. Do Not Get Complacent....This thing is far from a done-deal. We have a lot of work to do and a short time to get there. Volunteer in your precincts to help people get the proper voting ID..drive your elderly neighbors to and from driver's license places so they can get photo IDs...This is critical as so many states have voter ID laws that will hinder many people from voting! Encourage young people in your neighborhoods to get involved. Give them the facts..they can figure it out. Every vote counts.

With all due respect to Ms. Noonan, the time to acknowledge the campaign's utter incompetence has long since passed. Now is the time to adMitt that the candidate himself is incompetent. Grossly, shockingly, irredeemably incompetent.

OK folks, my apologies to Bob Marley,
and to Eric Clapton whom I'd leave my husband for....Sing along with me to the tune
    of "I Shot The Sheriff"

    A one, and a two...

    I shot my chances
But I never really had any
    Yes, I shot my chances
And the pundits blame it all on me...

The nomination came my way one day
All around me Romney signs in the air
Then all of a sudden I see Clint Eastwood
    Talking to an empty chair
And right then they say I'm going no where

The GOP has always hated me
For what, I don't know why
They say every time I open my mouth
    I can't help but tell a lie
Yes, they say I tell another lie
    And they say!

    I shot my chances
But I swear it was in self-defense
    I shot my chances
It's obvious I have no sense

My ego got the better of me
And what is to be must be
Every day the donors dry up
and one day the bottom will drop out,
yes, one day the bottom will drop out

All around in every American town
They're tryin' to bring me down
Now Fox News wants me to bring me in guilty
For the killing of the GOP
For the life of the GOP
    And they say!

    I shot their chances
and I did it all myself
    Yes, I shot their chances
And I'll only see the Capitol thru a fence...

I love seeing peoples reaction of shock, disbelief then horror culminating in revulsion to Mitt dismissing half the country. It is fair we got to see the real Mitt. He and his ilk are stupid and led with a biased small mind underestimating citizens he foolishly invented a profile for.

Romney's campaign has compounded their errors. He would be a terrible president for he lives and breaths poor judgment.

His campaign reeks of a foul stench steeped in blatant lies.

Do they think we've not been paying attention to the disaster he has become in front of all of us!!! His statements are amazing and remember too, that he and Ryan are anti-womens rights.

Make sure all your friends and family members are getting out there to vote and talk about the positive issues of the past three plus years under President Obama and VP Biden!!!

Mormons have such a narrow world view, I doubt any have that level of sophistication. I suppose a few do, but Romney certainly doesn't. He has lived his whole life in a snug circle of people who see the world exactly as he does and if they don't, they are ejected. His "church" supplies all the answers and accepts no criticism or even questioning of the dogma.

I supported Sarah Palin initially-- and I remember being with the idiots who said, "She's just like me!" I finally saw the light and didn't vote for her-- anything I had in common with her was bad and I needed to work on it. (I postponed work for another couple of years, I decided to not be so lenient with my teenagers. Sarah Palin WAS the bad example.)

So here comes Mitt. Did anyone EVER think they had anything in common with him? Now he reminds me of the Frank Murkowski ad, claiming that he was a hard nosed Republican, while his ship was sinking.

McCain really DID choose the better of the two candidates between SP 1.0 and Mitt. SP was/is stupid and has wasted her fame and small fortune, and MittRom is an arrogant a**hole. Supporters can't even call Mitt the underdog!

It's never good when pundits and pols from your own party take pot shots at you. I remember the Democrats spent the 1980's in a circular firing squad.

So, it with some delight that I see the Republicans in the circular firing squad. They always marched in lockstep with one another and that is how they won elections. These days it is the Democrats who are united.

I have also read that this sniping has had an effect of the down ballot races. Let us all hope this trend continues and Nancy Pelosi takes the gavel back and again become the Speaker of the House.

You think Romney's campaign is incompetent?

I would of loved to see a Sarah Palin campaign! Talk about an idiot that doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground! Just imagine what a Sarah Palin campaign would look like.

This woman can't even raise her own delinquent kids. None of them are qualified for college, they are all sex addicts, everybody impregnates their girlfriends or gets pregnant and then gets married if they are able to trick somebody into marrying them, vandalism and cutting school bus brake lines, getting kicked out of school, pregnant when 16 years old, breaking and entering, homophobics all of them, everybody wants to get on a reality show, grifting is the family occupation besides prostitution and this woman wanted to be President of the United States of America?????

    No thank you!

But it would of been watching Sarah Palin screw up more than Romney.

That is a very damaging message to send.

And Obama hammered it home on Letterman without being obvious about it when he said you have to represent all of the people. I think he said it more than once. And he had nothing but complimentary things to say about people who didn't and won't vote for him.
