Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey
She is phenomenal. To be honest, I would have been happy if either she or Obama had gotten the 2008 nomination. It showed class on both their parts when she was asked to serve, then accepted, as the SoS. More than anything else, this position is critical in the world today--especially after the fiasco of the Bush years. Her ability and dedication has allowed Obama to focus on other issues.
If she chooses to run for president, I will certainly support her. I just hope she takes a well earned vacay first.
I've always been a Hillary fan. This quote, and a few others from her career have made me suspect that she may be a closet non-believer. I've wondered that since the 2008 election, actually.
I'm also a - as you put it - non believer. Like that term better than atheist really!!! What is wrong if people don't believe in a 'god' that the christians try to shove down our throats?
Most christians don't live the lives of what a 'true' christian is suppose to be anyway. Just observe them - most Republicans say they are 'christian' and they do and say the most evil stuff on the planet. (Example: House of the U.S. Congress and many in offices throughout the nation.)
Hillary is definitely not a non-believer. She has always been a Methodist. When she was in the Senate she was in the same prayer group as the rightwing assholes.
This is why any Hillary supporters who turned to Sarah Palin were never Hillary supporters to begin with. They are also batshit crazy and /or incredibly stupid.
Exactly. I was a huge Hillary supporter. Voted for her in my state's primary even though by then it was obvious Obama had the nomination sewn up. I just wanted to be able to say I voted for her!
But the instant the primaries were over, I supported Obama. He may not have been the same GENDER as Hillary, but he was the same SPECIES. Palin? Pfft. Whatever she is, it ain't human.
I do find it frustrating that everyone accepts such a statement from Sec Clinton - yet if the President said EXACTLY the same thing - he would be attacked for attacking religion.
Mrs Clinton has been a very good Sec of State - the last week probably one of the most stressful - she is not going to have an easy time for her final few months in the job.
Perhaps I view the comment through a different lens but I don't read it as anti-God but rather as anti-hypocrisy. "Killing for Christ" doesn't seem to me to comport with the message thereof.
Exactly - she is of the old-school religious type that sees religion s an exhortation to be a better person. (Something about planks and splinters from the Bible there?) Most honest people never get round to looking for splinters.
I have always defended and loved Hillary Clinton. She is a truly intelligent woman and has worked hard as Sec. of State. Bill and Hillary are the best in my books.
I am sure that Mrs. Clinton would win the nomination for POTUS in 2016 if she chose to run.
I can't imagine who the GOP nominee would be however. The GOP is now the TP/GOP and I think the voting public are getting very very tired of their juvenile theatrics and dangerous obstructionism.
Christian Dominionists are no better than fundamentalists of any persuasion.
Also, the State Department hires Blackwater thugs, paying them more than regular military and outside of military channels, to do the job of guarding our diplomats.
Was the hit on the ambassador really against him... or against the mercenaries driving their mercenary vehicle in their established heedless death-dealing mercenary way? If the ambassador had remained in the Consulate, he would have been safe behind fortified walls. Our mercenaries are hated even more than our diplomats. For damned good reason.
I have family who owns a company that currently has a contract with the US to provide security in Iraq and Afganistan. It is run by my uncle, who served as a green beret, and a delta force team leader. His company specializes in hostage extraction around the world, and is a respected member of the contractor community.
I am proud of him and his work he has done around the world, and I am sure the people who he has helped, and the family members who has been reunited with their children are proud and grateful for his work as well.

Ditto.
DeleteShe has one of the best minds of this age.
ReplyDeleteI loved the picture of the president holding her, and she him, as they walked away from the caskets. I’d go so far as to call that picture iconic.
A real "statesmen", actually a stateswoman. She is refined and articulate, unlike so many of the other representatives now days.
ReplyDeleteJust for that one statement I would vote her into any elected office!
ReplyDeleteAMEN to that!!!
ReplyDeleteMe three!

DeleteI, too, like and appreciate Hillary Clinton. I hope that she runs for President after President Obama completes his second term. She'd be a shooin!!!

I can just see her smacking them down - sort like when your mom yelled at you and your teen friends for doing something stupid. Sorry, Mrs. Lubner.
DeleteMy respect for Mrs. Clinton knows no bounds. I am so grateful for her service -
ReplyDeleteShe is a member of The Family.

And no, he is not a 'black water thug'
Don't place all contractors in the same basket.
And that goes for you Zionists and your little attack dog Bibi, too.
