New Obama ad: "Rebuilding."

I think that this is a very powerful ad that will probably have a profound impact on those military members, and their families, that are sick and tired of the constant deployments to places that are becoming increasingly tired of our presence in their countries.

I have always felt that Obama was trapped by politics, and the  GOP's desire to paint him as weak on defense, into staying in Afghanistan far longer than he would have liked, and I am confident that he will get us out in his second term.

It is absolutely time to end these wars and bring our troops home, and let's face it, despite what he might say, Mitt Romney is married to the military-industrial complex that simply wants eternal strife around the world in order to keep selling weapons and driving up their profits. And the proof of that is found in the neo-cons he has advising him in his campaign.

Yes! Romney's pandering to peace last night only convinced me more that he will say anything to win. If elected, his advisors would be neocons and once again our soldiers would pay the bills for their profitable contracts.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."

    This from a SOLDIER!

    Another?

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."

Don't EVER let the rupubs deny they used to think of the PEOPLE or that they used to believe as we do now - that the welfare of people should come first.

Well, Gryphen, The Donald's October Surprise has been leaked and it's a stunner.
    -------------
Real estate mogul and recreational bankruptarian Donald "Donald" Trump has arrived - with his 6 man ceremonial marching bagpipe ensemble - in bucolic Butter Oaks (pronounced "Butt Ox"), Mississippi, to announce the impending indictment of President Barack Hussein Obama for "reckless and repeated" violation of 1852's so-called Beaumont Law which makes it a capital offense for "any neegro what learns hisself to be a-reading, a-writing or numberating without the expressate permissions of his owner or licensated slave dealer".

County prosecutor and judge Buford "Pus" Whitehead is not expected to seek the death penalty for the sitting president, but legal scholars at Jerry Failwell's Confederate Center for Harsh Biblical Justice predict the president - who freely admits to both reading and also writing - "could face as much as 20 years in prison, when convicted".

This bombshell accusation is expected to immediately collapse support for President Obama across wide swaths of the South, mostly among older, religious, conservative, white, uneducated, mental defectives.

Butter Oaks, population 874 (including sheep and singing bassett hounds) is the county seat of Blackamore County, which is America's only county still technically fighting the Civil War. In addition, slavery, while frowned upon by many residents, isn't illegal.

Critics say that there hasn't been a successful prosecution under the Beaumont Law in almost 10 years and doubt Mr. Obama will actually stand trial.

Buxom blonde Fox News NASCAR legal analyst Aphasia Idyl weighed in, predictably, voicing support for the legal process and rigid adherence to the law. "Obama is innocent until proven guilty by a jury of his betters. But he's been captured on video countless times reading from his beloved Teleprompter and signing his name to the very documents which have destroyed America so it's hard to imagine how he'll escape conviction."

Trump is expected to offer any future jurors who convict Obama a 7 day trip to his newest $100 million dollar golf resort and environmental catastrophe in coastal Scotland (airfare, lodging, meals and golfing fees not included.)

Unofficial White House reaction: "And the horse Trump rode in on."

YESSIR, Mr. Beldar, you really did your due-diligence-research here! I am so glad to have read your always enlightening postings often enough to know better than to have any liquids nearby! KUDOS for bringing the TARFU Trumpster into the proper spotlight! But I do pity his horse, unless that one considers itself High and Mighty as well.

Beldar, I thought that jury summons was a fraud and didn't respond! (Honestly, who sends a summons on the back of a Jack Daniel's label signed "Buford "Pus" Whitehead?).

Now you've got me truly scared and worried!

Hate to contaminate your blog but Palin spoke again on Fox news. I didn't watch it but just saw it on Fox nation link. If you want to link it from somewhere else I totally understand. This is the only place I saw it. Fox scraping the bottom of the barrel again.http://nation.foxnews.com/2012-presidential-debates/2012/10/23/palin-there-were-so-many-untruths-spewed-obama-tonight

Get ready to slam your head (or hers) into a desk.

Palin calls for more fact-checking of Obama.

Is this 2012? Nearly four years into a Presidency and over a decade of public service?

Yes, the neocons never saw a conflict that should not lead to a "splendid little war" (courtesy of then Secretary of State John Hay, 1898) the Rough Riders' motto in the Spanish War under the other Roosevelt, Teddy, the Great White Hunter. In my eyes he partially redeemed himself by establishing the idea of setting aside great tracts of land for preservation in their natural state.

If it was for the selfish reasons of an avid outdoorsman, I take those over the desires of the modern GOP whose members do the bidding of corporations:

Coal Mines next to the most spectacular canyons and vital fishing grounds, with the excuse that it will help the Indigenous/Native Population?

Drilling rigs in pristine waters polluting estuaries as well as the deep oceanic food chain?

Fracking with all of the chemicals and resultant underground explosions causing neighboring
abandoned wells from up to a century ago leaking into the aquifer?

Poorly maintained pipelines from the edge of the Arctic seas to the Gulf? What will happen as the permafrost dissolves and the frozen tundra becomes a peat bog?

Oh never mind, climate change is a myth brought about by Atheist Scientists... or something.

All in the name of "energy", while preventing development of more environmentally compatible alternatives?

Oh yes, we have too many regulations to suit the corporatists who would like to have us elect anyone who will remove those "Chains that Bind" their unscrupulous endeavors. They eagerly look backwards to a time when there were not only "women in binders", but by taking our voice, our power to vote, all of us could be trampled into submission.

Just thinking... If neocons translates into "new" cons, does that mean Teddy's philosophies were the old cons? Sounds about right to me.
After all our little adventures under Reagan and Bush the Elder seem to qualify as "splendid little wars" by the definition given to con men.

Oh, don't get me going this early in the morning.
I still have the debate to listen to, which I cowardly postponed last night so I could sleep.

I have Hope and I have a Vote.

Just a consarned minute there, Gina! Didn't you call ME a "zip damn fool" on Tuesday, July 28 of this year? (I pulled that date out of... thin air, but you get the idea.) I had assumed it was a compliment and I've been cheerfully calling other people the same thing ever since. NOW I find out it's actually an insult! This sheds a whole new light on my recent social ostracism...

But, yeah, let's vote for Obama as if the survival of the country depends on it, because, well... it does.

Trouble is Beldat (not beldar) is that the economy for the working class can't recover. We have entered a new age of machine technology where workers hands' are just not required in sufficient numbers to make the middle class prosperous. So in other words, you have seen the recovery and you have seen the drop in unemployment. Business is booming and big corps are making profits as never seen before. And not even Obama is going to redistribute income enough to make a dent in that problem. Especially in America where somebody like Romney can get half the vote of the masses of the middle class and poor. And quite likely win an election where the middle class are hurting to the degree to which we are all aware. And so the solution? Join the upper class. And really, when it comes right down to the truth, that's the American dream anyway isn't it? hi gina, you're looking pretty today!

Your comments regarding disruptive, fundamental - and likely irreversible - economic change are well made. However, with respect to the choice between Barack Obama and Mittens Rmoney, I quote Tuft, the Sentient Cotton Boll, who says: "Even under the harshest - but honest - criteria, Obama is still unquestionably the lesser of two weevils."

OT I applaud Obama for speaking directly to Romney that the president can not change his positions in foreign relationships or affairs.

A liar, lying to manipulate also lies denying he or she said what they said. Highly manipulative people
also turn it around the honest person is the liar. Experience and history teaches us to not trust or believe Romney personalities.

I wish more people applied an integrity test. When a person denies former positions they are lying to us. A weak persin avoids accountability. Romney is self serving stooping to lows to win.

There's just no quit in America and you're seeing that right now. Over five million new jobs, exports up forty one percent, home values rising, our auto industry back and our heroes are coming home.

We're not there yet. But we've made real progress and the last thing we should do is turn back now.

Here's my plan for the next four years: Making education and training a national priority; building on our manufacturing boom; boosting American-made energy; reducing the deficits responsibly by cutting where we can, and asking the wealthy to pay a little more. And ending the war in Afghanistan, so we can do some nation-building here at home. That's the right path.

So read my plan, compare it to Governor Romney's and decide which is better for you. It's an honor to be your President and I'm asking for your vote. So together we can keep moving America forward.

Sir or Madam: Your facts are unassailable but perhaps in other respects your mind has been clouded by pre-apocalyptic 21st century thinking. The quaint 18th century Beaumont Law takes a liberal view - the only view of that kind in the county - of the definition of "neegro" and "slave" under the assumption that a "free neegro" just hasn't met the right owner yet. If I have to explain it to you, you just aren't Southern enough.

The truth is, there is no intention of ending that war by either side. Both will keep some troops in and they have both admitted it. The bulk of the troops removed will be replaced by mercenary soldiers and the ever present drone strikes will continue. Right up until it's absolutely essential in the eyes of the US to put more troops back. And that's exactly what will happen because Al Qaida is determined to stop US meddling on the Arabian peninsula. But alas, we can't talk honestly about all that until the election is over.

This ad sets the perfect tone, as does his 5 point plan ad, after the last debate. Romney doesn't have enough free memory left in his brain to keep track of his many lies.
What respect has Mitt shown the military and their families? He uses battleships and soldiers as campaign props, but President Obama has demonstrated by words and deeds in his role as Commander in Chief, that he wants them home, employed and given the best medical care available.

Until last night, Romney was against "timelines" because they embolden the enemy and weakens our military's capacity.
