A Final Letter to Mitt Romney.

This has been forwarded to me by a number of people, as well as showing up on my own Facebook feed, and it's great so I thought I would share it with all of you. Trust me, it is well worth your time.

Courtesy of Liberals Unite:

Dear Mitt and Paul,

I wanted to clear something up for you.

I have seen the debate about what went wrong, and why you lost this election.

As a voter I want you to know that my voting against you had nothing to do with the fact that you are both rotten people.

It was not because of your crazy religions.

It had nothing to do with Eastwood’s empty chair, or the hurricane, or the liberal media telling me bad things about Bain.

I did not vote against you because I am a minority.
I did not vote against you because I live in an urban area.
I did not vote against you because of the cheese wiz in your veins or the elevators for your cars.
I did not vote against you because you are bullies and bigots.
I did not vote against you because you are rich hypocrites.

It was not because of Chris Christie, or Colin Powell, or Bill Clinton, or Anne Coulter, or Chris Mathews or Rachel Maddow or Meygn Kelly or Jon Stewart or Brian Williams, or anybody on tv.

I didn’t vote against you for any of those reasons because, I didn’t vote against anybody.

I voted for someone.
I voted for a man who brought my childhood friends home from war that they could kiss their wives and tuck their kids in at night.
I voted for a guy who loves New Jersey more than he dislikes Chris Christie.
I voted for the guy who looked in the mirrors of his daughter’s eyes, questioned himself, and changed his mind about marriage equality.
I voted for the guy who called Sandra Fluke and told her that her parents should be proud.
I voted for the guy who honors the women in his life by ensuring them trust to make their own reproductive and health choices and opportunity to work through glass ceilings with equal pay.
I voted for the guy who signed the stimulus that paid for the hearing aids that allowed me to hear my children clearly.
I voted for the guy who gave my sister the ability to buy health insurance in spite of pre existing conditions.
I voted for the guy who picked Joe Biden for a VP. Joe’s love for his country, his willingness to give of himself, his smarts and experience are top notch.
I voted for the guy who was smart enough to put a ring on Michelle Obama’s finger.

Most importantly, I voted for the guy who will continue to place America and what is right for her first.

I trust him.

When he hears a lone voice in a crowd of plenty shout, “I love you!” He shouts, “I love you back!”

See Mitt, Paul, it’s not you… It’s him.

I did not vote against you.

I voted for Barack Obama.
I voted for Joe Biden.
I voted for Michelle and Sasha and Malia.
I voted in favor of my self and my spouse and our sons and our future.
I voted in favor of the best tomorrow for America available.

You can blame polls, and weather events, and skewed electoral votes and biased media and urban minorities who supposedly want free stuff till you actually turn into the slow moving regressive elephants who represent you if you wish but no manipulating the facts.

You lost not because you are losers but because Barack is a winner.

Sincerely, Sarah Zacharias

Very, very well put. And oh, so true.

Sarah wrote exactly what I would have written. And I am so grateful that she did but, unfortunately, neither Mitt Romney nor the disgruntled Republicans in this country will understand a word of it. They all simply lack the maturity to think that they could possibly have been so wrong. For the past four or five years - they have been simply so wrong. Thank you, Gryphen, for posting Sarah's letter.

    Amen!!

I voted Republican all my life until 2008 until I came to my senses and voted for Barack and Joe.

I will never understand the progressives who are disappointed in his first term. His accomplishments in terms of the economy and social justice are amazing, especially considering the mess he inherited and the overwhelming opposition he encountered.

I breathed a great sigh of relief when his reelection was decided.

My sentiments precisely. I think Mitt's post 11-6 spinning is a product of his sheltered life where the illusion that Mitt is a winner is set in cement. His plutocratic attitudes scared the #$%^ out of me. Combined with that entitled lunatic Ryan, I could see the country becoming a banana republic in four years. I slept better than I had in months after the race was called 11.6.12. Yes, four more years!

I like this letter especially after the extreme divisive polarizing lies of the Romney campaign done to turn people against Obama.

A major reason I have voted for Obama is his (and Michelle's) work ethics that it is up to you to work hard to achieve your goals aka personal success.

When Mitt chose a vile negative spin opposite of reality that Obama wants us to think we are "stuck in our station" blah do nothing, victim, get free stuff off people like him Romney's character sunk in my eyes.

There are wealthy flawed entitled people and poor entitled people. Mitt's downfall is not his wealth but character defects including entitlement to superiority void of character.

It's really pissing me off that Mitt is still repeating the idea that we all voted for Obama because we want free stuff. This is class war stuff (not to mention the underlying message about the changing ethnicity and race of our population).

The Republicans never stop to think that a majority of the "takers" in America live in red states and I willing to bet that a majority of the "takers" voted for Mitt based on gun rights, hate for gays, fundamentalist religion, etc.

Mitt, you portray yourself as pious, patriotic and devoted to country. Your small-minded and nasty comments following your defeat revealed the real you. Don't tell me that you wrote your gracious concession speech because you don't have the grace or the class to have done so. So, farewell, bye bye: it's been a drag having you around. We are definitely finished with you as a candidate for POTUS and you probably blew Tagg's chance in the future, as well. Or was it Josh? Or Ben? Whatever!

  10. I wish everyone on the right could understand this letter, but I know they won't. Mitt and his followers are very bitter sore losers. I've never seen such hate for our President. I know he is a strong man with a sound character, even in the face of so much hatred. Someday history will reflect the great things he accomplished during his 8 years in office, but some will sadly never be able to see him for the good man he really is.

  11. There is only one part she could have included at the end - although it’s optional based on how strongly you believe Mitch is a dirtbag…

    “AND NEVER COME BACK”

    Just sayin…

"You lost not because you are losers but because Barack is a winner."

He really is. There can be no doubt now. I've said it before: the man appears to walk in God's favor.

WHEREAS: 47% of Americans voted AGAINST their President.

    Not FOR Romney.

I never heard a single soul say anything really patriotic about Romney...the kindest thing uttered was how maybe his vulture business experience, could somehow translate to a good "CEO" for the nation, and everyone would somehow become rich, as his stockholders.

Other than that, they knew he was basically a turd.

He should be basking in the glory of having come that close, given his essential platform was: I'm not Obama.

She wrote a beautiful letter. The most important three words, to me, were "I trust him".
President Obama backs up his words with actions.
