A little Alaskan beauty for you this morning courtesy of our friend Dennis Zaki.

Dutch Harbor stock footage - Outtakes from a film I'm making from Dennis Zaki on Vimeo.

Dennis has been working on a film out in Dutch Harbor, Alaska recently and this is some of the gorgeous footage that he uploaded for me to share with all of you.

Let me know if after you watch it you have the same hankering for a crab dinner that I ended up with.

Great article .. thank you for link

      35-year-old Romney, “a vacuous-eyed, transparent political appointment”

Daddy literally put Tagg on third base with the Dodgers.

If Bristol has crabs this big, she will never find a new boyfriend.

Very nice. Those crabs are huge!! I wouldn't want to get a finger in those snappers. Incredible harvest of food in those waters.

  7. That was lovely. I love the shot of the otter near the end.

It actually makes me feel guilty to eat crab. They've been in the ocean for 15-20 years? And look how many are taken.

Is there any problem with sustainability, due to how many of these mature crabs are taken each year?

Thanks for sharing! I too had some lovely king crab over the weekend, but part of me does wonder, just like the poster above, how much we know about this animal and the actual abundance and recovery ability from our fishing activities. It's pretty hard not to succumb to the delights though, living here in AK where we can actually get it fresh frozen for only 20 bucks a pound! I admit to being a king crab fanatic, but hope I'm not destroying the population!

  9. For those wondering about sustainability, they only take the males that are past their prime breeding age. There are still millions of them out there and will continue to be.

    1. Thanks, Dennis. I feel much better now, free to really enjoy your vision and perhaps their taste at some point. Still a little beyond my price point. But when I can afford to indulge, I won't feel guilty.
