Diving deep into the Romney-verse.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing? Stop reading this right now. I'm running for President after all."
I have done my best to bring you as much pertinent information about Mitt Romney that I could find. And as you all know it is substantial, and it is deeply troubling.

However the other day somebody sent me a link that lays out the incredible, and truly horrific, history of the Mormon church, as well as biographical information about Mitt the Twit that I KNOW his campaign does not want us to know.

It is written by a Canadian human rights advocate, named Amy MacPherson, and here is the link.

In my title I refer to it as a "deep dive" and that is NO exaggeration, and it make take you a number of visits to read the entire thing.  However if you are hesitant to start, let me first give you a taste. The legend of Mitt is steeped in polygamy, misogyny, racism, anti-Semitism, corporatocracy, government and war. It is no easy task to explain these things and I caution against making assumptions until the repercussions at present can make themselves fully known.

To begin we must accept the arduous task of illuminating Mitt’s religious royalty. While constitutional rights ensure freedom of religion that is not the issue, nor would I try to make it one. What’s at stake is a conflict of interest between corporate tables of a global nature, a caveat regarding theo-democracy and the public’s equal right to be separated between church and state.

Republicans will accuse, “Oppression! Discrimination!” but I assure you this is not. The term religious royalty is just a good publicist’s way of cleansing plenty the campaign couldn’t otherwise dilute. If the Pope, Muhammad or Jesus was running to be the President, it would surely present an ethical conundrum. Therefore when the equivalent of Mormon attempts the same feat, we are tasked with answering a slew of questions they would pay many millions to not have to answer.

Like I said, a deep dive.

Hold your breath kids, and bring you favorite blanket to cover your eyes, because this is some VERY scary shit!

I also opened that link from yesterday and yes, it is the scariest thing I have read so far about Mitt and his heritage...the scariest!!!!! I read a few comments yesterday on different blogs about Lady Ann...how she is looking tired and distraught, and this article puts this in perspective. She is acknowledging the dream is over....the prophecy, the Romney prophecy is over. The golden boy is done, cooked, a failure. What we have seen of his nature when confronted or caught in a lie is not pretty...he cannot control his anger...just imagine what he is gonna be like on Wed? No wonder Lady Ann is looking distraught...she knows whats coming, a total meltdown. All his millionaire backers are gonna be pissed and the GOP brass knows this was their last chance at power....Mitt is gonna be worth shit, hahaha...couldn't happen to a nicer guy. I truly hope that lawsuits abound and Bain capital sinks along with him. You know the church elders won't be welcoming home their golden son anymore either...probably want more of his money they now know exists. Sweet!!

    Truly frightening.

And I have only gotten through the first two parts!

I, personally, find all organized religion to be a waste of time and money and everything else one can use in negative terms, but this has so many things that smack of overthrow....

I knew Mormonism was sick and stupid and insane, but so far all I can say is that this should be the first "religion" banned by the US!

All the above, of course, is based on the assumption that what is in the article is true. However, I have to say that what I have read so far is in complete accordance with everything I have read or found out about the mormons and their cult.

Wow, this certainly explains Rmoney and ANNtoinette's entitled attitudes. They are Mormon royalty and royally pissed that the rest of us don't bow down to them.

Good god, Mr. G, that is indeed scary stuff. They are all like an octopus, with tentacles everywhere. No wonder Mitt scares the crap out of me.
Would it be possible to keep the link to this article in the margins so it would be readily available?

A long you tube but VERY interesting!

Where was Romney on Sept 10 2001? In DC at FBI headquarters helping to draft a pressor for 911!
Romney & KarlRove Gabby Giffords, Longner a Black ops
Ambassador Stevens, who had the most to gain for trouble in the mideast? Romney in the Campaign! who made the trailer the innocence of Muslims well we know who but WHO backed him? Romney Launched his attack on PBO 2 MINS after Hillary announced the Benghazi incident!

Press is afraid to report on all this Because of "Gary Webb" who "committed suicide" shot in the head TWICE after writing a book called "Dark Alliance"
      Then also "Hacking Democracy" http://www.hulu.com/watch/192687
A full length movie but if your not worried about Tagg Romney's close association with the Voting machines you should be! I heard on NPR this morning Karl Rove has said "you will wake up on Wed and Romney will have 300 Electoral votes"!
      WTF?

I haven't been to the IM site much lately, but
i ran across this item about Sarah P by Geoffrey Dunn on HP. Scathing reporting on SP's $5000 donation to Mitt Romney. A fun read!

It IS scary schitt! Of course the LSM hasn't touched it, oh no we can't mention religion.

Too bad the article is so pedantic and poorly written. it reminds me of Shailey Tripp's "style", confusing and just short of whacky. Ms macPherson sorely needed an editor. Or better yet, Gina could have helped, THEN it would make sense!

I'm glad you picked up on this. I was one of the "someones" who shared that with you. It has not gotten traction in other places I've sent it. My partner is accusing me of paranoia. I am finding it strange to be critical of anyone's religion. I understand that everyone has something in his/her belief system that sustains and comforts him/her. I can even understand ethnic solidarity in response to persecution. This, however, does not seem to have those values. This (Mormonism) seems to have a theme of entitlement that disregards other viewpoints and has steadily gained enough power to change the majority's institutions.

MacPherson wrote this very quickly and did not have time to edit well. However, she seems to have a lot of factual information. I checked on a couple of things that I was skeptical of, and she was right.

The main concern I have is that Mitt Romney has never explained how his religion affects his decision making and how he could maintain a distance from that to separate church and state. Kennedy did that, so I don't see the comparison to Catholicism.

The words escape me on how devastating it is to learn that the Romney family IS the Mormon church. No wonder Republicans have a hard time stomaching them and this religion as the next leading scare tactic (as opposed to Christianity). For Billy Graham to scrub Mormonism off his cult list in early October 2012, perhaps the Mormon gang had a meeting with old Billy to make him change his wrongful ways.

I hope the Anonymous threat is true and that all eyes are monitoring Rove's computer systems. However, if the Rommey's own the voting machines, how will we ever know the truth? If not 2012, in 2016 and beyond?

I just finished laboring my way through Part I of this ill-informed diatribe, and barely managed to make it through due to choking on the boulder-sized grains of salt necessary to keep reading.

I intend to read the rest of it, but let me say right now that despite the article's many citations to Mormon documents, what I have read so far is written without any real understanding of the religious beliefs and sensibilities of the American Religious Revival period of the early-to-mid 1800s. Attitudes & beliefs that were rather common then, this author imputes as being unique to Mormonism.

I am not a Mormon, though 40 years ago I studied it rather intensely. I've also studied the history and origins of Judaism, and I see where a lot of the stuff (not all) about Mormonism that freaks out ordinary Christians comes from.

That being said, Mitt is a bald-faced, elitist liar, clueless about life for the rest of us. That alone is enough reason to reject his bid for the presidency.

I beg to differ. The vast majority of the American public saw Joseph Smith as a charlatan, which is why he was continually fleeing the law. It takes a certain kind of really deep, gullible stupidity to follow such an obviously made-up-out-of-wholecloth pack of lies that Smith was trying to palm off.

You say you aren't a Mormon - I was. You may have studied Mormonism but I lived it. It's all true.

Did your intense study of Mormonism tell you anything about Orrin Porter Rockwell - Brigham Young's hit man? It's not just okay to lie for the lord, it's okay to kill for him, too.

  16. This article is downright scary and nightmare provoking! The Mormon Church seems to be in every aspect of American, and world, life and I find that abhorrent. May Romney be roundly beaten tomorrow and may the church be called to account for its many transgressions against our country, our people, and all the damage worldwide.

Why is the "religion" not reviled worldwide? Just because most of its members, and its full leadership, is white?

The Mormon church epitomizes what's worst in American culture--arrogance (it takes some real tone-deaf arrogance to go to other countries and lecture people they're doing religion wrong), greed, and misogyny.

    Mr G,

I just skimmed through the post on the link and started the first in the series, and this cult is even scarier than dominionism.

I'll have to get back to it another time.

If ever there was a case FOR a religious test for people running for office of the President, this bullshit is it!
The public's been hoodwinked, especially christians and True Christians, into believing this cult to be of Christ.
And they grilled JFK because he was Roman Catholic????????

Again, bloggers are doing the work of Journalist and doing it quite well.

OK, I just finished the entire 8 part series and I am seriously creeped out. Trust me, the rank and file Mormons know none of this. They don't even know their own history and they certainly don't know any of this stuff that's going on today. Don't smoke, don't drink, question nothing, bow to male authority is about all they know.

I applaud Amy MacPherson for her brave investigation and hope this work becomes more widespread. Though now she probably has to fear for her safety.
