Favorite political rumor of the day.

Today, like a good little political blogger, I was watching the Sunday shows and happened to see this fascinating exchange on Chris Matthews.

Whoa, did Howard Fineman just say what I thought he said?

That Ashley Judd might be taking on Mitch "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president" McConnell for his Senate seat?

Oh PLEASE make this be true!

If this happens it will no doubt be my favorite political race to watch in 2014. By far!

You remember Ashley Judd don't you?

Famous actress, PETA spokesperson, daughter and sister to the famous country music duo "The Judds?"

Or perhaps you remember her best for being one of the first people publicly added to Sarah Palin's enemies list after going after her in 2009 over the aerial hunting of wolves in Alaska.

Oh that one REALLY got under the Grizzled Mama's skin.  As a matter of act she has mentioned it in anger numerous times since.

So yes the idea of Judd, a woman with more talent in her little finger than Sarah Palin has in her entire body, taking on "Little Bitch" McConnell and eventually walking away with his lunch money AND his Senate seat, is my idea of some very serious karmic justice.

And don't think Judd is just a pretty face (Though beautiful would be more like it.) she has the chops to talk policy and speak up for her beliefs as well. Just take a look at her canvassing for Obama last month. (Oh, and did I mention she is a HUGE Obama supporter?)

Yeah, like I said, this would be an extremely entertaining and exciting race to watch. Let's hope we get the opportunity.

Ashley Judd? The one with the Masters Degree in Public Policy from Harvard? You mean that Hollywood/liberal elitist? Why on Earth would I consider voting for someone who is actually educated in the matters that might concern a potential legislator? ;)

    1. Sorry G but this must get out, IM'rs you know what to do:

crystalwolf ‏@krystalwolfgrl “As long as he is a #Republican, we don’t care if he is a drug dealer or damned ‘Ruskie’ spy.” #ROMNEY #GOP
MSM is covering for Romney just like they did for Sarahpalin and her fake pregancy tweet this far and wide!!!
      He's a flippin' SPY!

    2. Anonymous9:06 PM

Well, that does explain why Fox is so insistent that all their shows keep hammering away at this Benghazi thing. Like a dog with a bone - they just won't let it go.

    3. Anonymous11:36 PM

Would this be one of those tiny little Hollywood actresses? lol

    4. Back in 2009 the attention-whore woman who's starved/drugged herself down to 95 pounds called Ashley Judd a "delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlet" -- as if Ashley Judd didn't have a remarkable and long IMDb list of accomplishments elevating her above "celebrity".

  2. Anonymous4:14 PM

just think..... 2016 President Ashley Judd; the very intelligent, very beautiful first woman president. i can only dream......

  3. Ooh, that’s a smart one! I’d love to see her get involved. I don’t think she can be intimidated.

  4. Whoa, I would love to see that!

  5. Anonymous4:40 PM

This lovely gal isn't only talented but very, very well educated. She's a class act and I'd love to see her run from her state.

  6. Anonymous4:44 PM

    O/T but worth posting:

    PublicPolicyPolling (@ppppolls)
Our final Virginia poll finds Barack Obama leading Mitt Romney 51-47

Also, too, you Democrats have another superstar. Her name is Debbie Wasserman Schultz. I am one Republican who would vote for her. And don´t believe for one second Debbie wouldn´t win FL.

  7. Balzafiar4:53 PM

I wish I could vote for her, but I don't live in Kentucky. I sure would if I could.

I would (if I had it) pay big bucks to see that smug turd McConnell voted out. He is a major-league asshole.

  8. Anonymous4:57 PM

Now is a good time to point out that PPP's error rate in 2008 was only 0.125% in swing states:

The importance of the polls we're seeing out of VA/OH now are those toplines of over 50% for Obama.

  9. AJ Billings5:11 PM

Wow, that would be a great race to watch.

The KOCK brothers would spend 100 million to try and defeat Ashely Judd, just to avoid the embarassment.

Granny Grifter might even fly to Kentucky to rally the Klan, and to gin up lies and rumors, also too.

His statement about making the number 1 goal to have the President serve just one term is actual dereliction of duty, and borders on treason.

  10. Olivia5:13 PM

Oh, my! Another Harvard educated intelligent elite liberal woman who can speak well. I can just hear teabaggers' heads, ping, ping.

    1. Leland1:52 AM

Olivia, I have never heard a pimple's head make a sound when it pops! I would like to some time.

      BRING ON ASHLEY!!!!!

  11. Anonymous5:22 PM

She will have to move from Nashville to Kentucky first. It would be OK with me if she ran against Lamar Alexander, our rubber stamp senator in Tennessee. I am sure Senator Corker will be elected Tuesday, much to my dismay.

    1. Alexander and Corker are as useless as tits on a boar hog.

Alas, my beloved Tennessee is in the poke for the Republicans.

  12. Anita Winecooler5:22 PM

She'd make an excellent politician - Mama Naomi, not so much, apparently Ashley got the "smart" genes from her dad's side of the family. BUT most of all, because it would drive Sarah off the edge!

On the opposite side of the spectrum, this lovely creature "thinks" God is a Democrat and sent the deadly storm to make Obama look good.

  13. Anonymous5:27 PM

She is very involved with politics. I saw her interviewed at the DNC. Smart as hell and won't back down from the FACTS.
I'd LOVE to see this happen.

  14. Anonymous5:32 PM

Hell I'd move to Kentucky just to vote for her. She is one hell of a smart woman and really knows her shit.

  15. Anonymous5:40 PM

    My state! Yay!

  16. Anonymous6:27 PM

Yeah, she sure was a H8er to that tiny, delicate little Hollywood starlet - but look at the desicated bag of bones today, she outskinnied the thinnest of Hollywood botoxed ladies!

Oh and, go for it Ashley, beat that jowled-one.

  17. Anonymous6:28 PM

I am not really a big Ashley Judd fan, but if she could get rid of that obnoxious lunatic McConnell, I would be a raving supporter for sure!

  18. Ashley Judd was one of the people on Who Do You Think You Are a few years back. It was fascinating and showed she comes from "good stock" and strongly patriotic. As I recall she traced her family back to both the Revolutionary and Civil wars. The episode also showed her to be an amazingly intelligent and passionate and compassionate woman. One of the best episodes I saw. If you didn't see it you can see it here: (hope this link works!)

  19. Anonymous6:37 PM

Did anyone else read the racist and bigoted comments below this linked story? Yikes.

There are a lot of men who don't even try to hide the fact that they hate and fear women, anymore.

It makes sense out of why those same men are also extreme constant fear they will be "turned."

I caught the last few minutes of the Gloria Steinem documentary, in which Glenn Beck goes off on an infantile tantrum over her.

My thought after seeing that: " THAT really explains it all!"

  20. Anonymous6:43 PM

Pres. Obama busting a move. :)

    1. Anita Winecooler8:58 PM

Dayum, he's good! Beats the hell out of Romney "busting a move" with Meat Loaf!

  21. Anonymous7:15 PM

A reporter from my news station (Toronto) is in Boston reporting on the Romney campaign.

I just choked as I'm munching on pototo chips!!

She's been told that they have a 'secret weapon' who has recorded a robocall.

YUP -- 'That One!' -- She who was not invited to the RNC!!!

Didn't say where it will play but won't be surprised to hear it 'blitzed' across all the swing states, especially Ohio, Wisconsin, as she did appear at a rally for Walker during the recall.

We will be hearing/reading about it.

    1. Anonymous7:50 PM

      How does Romney spell D E S P E R A T I O N?

Below is the robo call transcript. Governor Palin was asked to record a robo call for the Gov Romney campaign. (I think this was recorded last week…don’t know for sure.)

“Hello, this is Sarah Palin calling to urge you to go to the polls on Election Day, or better yet, vote early. We have a critical choice to make this year and America needs leaders who believe in limited government, individual liberty, a robust national defense, stronger families, the sanctity of life and marriage, and time-honored values. Our nation is at a crossroads. So please go to the polls and vote for the candidates who share your common-sense values. Urge your friends and family to vote, too. Thank you and God bless you!”

    2. Anita Winecooler9:16 PM

It's political suicide! I wonder when John McCain suggested THIS brilliant idea?

    3. Anonymous9:48 PM

UMMM I missed the part where Sarah said who to vote for!

  22. Anonymous7:42 PM

Awesomeness if she beat the old crustacean! I want Palin's head to explode in anger in twenty directions if Ashley Judd won. Oh yeah!

    1. Anonymous12:11 AM

personally I'd prefer the skanks head to explode in twenty directions well before 2014

  23. johnie2xs7:59 PM

Oh my loins!!!!! I too, hope this to be true.
I can just hear McConnell crying now,...really,I can!

  24. Anonymous8:30 PM

POTUS speaks soon in Aurora CO:

Monday is the last time Obama will campaign to be POTUS. Enjoy while you can! will provide links.

Thank you, Obama family, for your duty and your sacrifice! I look forward to the next 4 years! And then I will cry when you leave the White House. You rock!

    1. Anita Winecooler9:33 PM

I just watched part of it on Television.

He really worked hard today, his voice was cracking, but he delivered a great speech!

Forward and Onward to four more years!

  25. Anonymous8:49 PM

    Mr. Bojangles is gonna lose.

    1. We know a Palin is commenting when you see THAT dog whistle word. No imagination to those mouth breathers. A lack of education and common sense does that to a person.

      Lose? Not really dear.

Now run along and jump into your dead lake. The adults are back in the room.

  26. Anita Winecooler9:30 PM

Guess who is going to see President Clinton? ;o)
My husband ordered tickets, he's speaking at the University of Pennsylvania at 4 p.m. We're making a day of it and getting there early, hopefully get as close as possible to the stage.
Wow! Munday with Bill, and Tuesday schlepping people to the polls.

It's like Festivus Eve in November!!

    1. Anonymous10:44 PM

      That's super cool, have fun!

    2. Anonymous8:00 AM

I'm road tripping to see Barack Michelle and The Boss today! Rain, cold, the crowd will not have to be locked in!

    3. Anonymous8:41 AM

Yaay for you and hubby AW,have fun! :-)

    4. Anita Winecooler8:02 PM

Thanks all, Bill was WONDERFUL - the place holds has 8700 seats, and it was jam packed. We were in Line at 1:45 p.m., it was about twelve city blocks long, over a bridge and looped up another street.
Clinton covered almost every single accomplishment, and got some great lines in, my favorites were "Vote with your Hopes, not your Fears" and he mentioned Colon Powell's endorsement, the jeep ad lie, a ton of other stuff.
He said President Obama surrounded himself with great people in the White House, but his favorite was "One Heck of a Secretary of State"
Seeing him in person made me realize how much he's aged and what a great friend he is to President Obama.

It was standing room only, lots of young college students. There were a few media sections, but the only ones near me that I could recognize were Chris Matthews and Margorie Margolies Medvinsky (Chelsea's mother-in-law).

Wow, Anonymous 8:00 I'm jealous! - I'd LOVE to have seen "Barry and Bruuuuuce!" - must have been great!!!
I saw some photos on Obama Diary - but they didn't cover Bill in Philly.

Fired Up and Ready to Rumble!

  27. Anonymous10:52 PM

I saw that about Ashley on Chris' show and thought wow, fantastic. I will definitely be donating to her campaign. I want that ugly SOB shoved back into his turtle shell, never to be seen again.

  28. I'm writing from Kentucky and all I can say about an Ashley Judd run in 2014. "Oh please, oh please, oh please!"

One Term More: "For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others" -- Nelson Mandela

  30. Anonymous7:49 AM

Oh please,oh please let it be true..

Don't feed the trolls!
It just goes directly to their thighs.
