President Obama chokes up during final campaign stop in Iowa last night.
So lucky! Both speeches, by President and Mrs. Obama, were just wonderful. It looked like a chilly evening but I would have loved to have been there. Imagine how many of us were with you in spirit! Beaglemom
I just VOTED for Barack Obama!! So glad I live in a blue state of California! I go to work and wearing Obama/Biden giant pin on my shirt, and my boss, co workers and people on the street are giving me "high five"
Gryphen, I've chosen your defunct blog that no one ever reads to sadly confess that in 2008 some unexpected travel demands prevented me from actually voting for Barack Obama. Yes, I hang my head in shame.
In order to redeem myself I adopted the persona of one Beldar J. Conehead, a hard-edged Parisian industrialist billionaire by day and masked Chicago subway busker by night who effortlessly spews venomous and/or bilious satire against the enemies of freedom and justice in America and across the Milky Way. But mostly in America.
So, it was a bit surprising this morning whilst voting for Barack Obama for the first time that a freak dustdevil - possibly a remnant of Super Storm Sandy ("why, oh why, must we name killer storms for actual people?", wails my Aunt Sandy... and my Uncle Sandy.) apparently deposited some Chinese coal plant particulates in my eyes and they momentarily misted over.
Ok, fine, so I'm a sentimental pussy. I pray to Zeus that President Obama wins this election and I'll probably get some more coal dust in my eyes tonight, if he does. With the minimal traffic you get on this blog, no one will ever know.
And just to set the record straight: there IS no Republican Voting Day on November 7th and I wouldnt endorse that jackwad Mittens for all the over-priced tea in Whole Foods!
(Im not affiliated with Whole Foods in any way, I just think their prices are a bit... aspirational.)
Here's another confession Beldar. I'm only 2 for 3 on backing Barack. I was at the Iowa caucuses in 2008 as an John Edwards supporter. Luckily everyone else had different ideas!
Beldar...those damn dustdevils.I've never seen one, but I believe you.
I can't vote because I am in Ireland. The rest of the world is thanking people like you.
And I like Whole Foods. Visited there recently in NY. They do a nice take-out breakfast, and I also bought a tongs ! Also purchased a recycled bag from them in bright colours which I am proudly sporting around Dublin, Ireland.
That's a great picture...What a man! Thank you to all the Obama's for your service to our country!! You have gone above and beyond the call of duty. I was emotional watching it last night, he is such an inspiration to me...he makes me want to be a better person. I am SURE we will be enjoying another 4 years of his great leadership!!

@Anonymous 1:48 PM, I know all about the republican's efforts to suppress the vote. I am very optimistic about PBO winning...please don't rain on my parade.
President Obama posted a short appeal to the users of the popular social news website Reddit (whose users are known as Redditors) late Tuesday evening, asking them to vote in the Novermber 6th U.S. general election, no matter what their political preference. The move comes on the heels of the President's first official appearance on the website on August 29, in which he participated in an "ask me anything," or "IAmA" session.
I voted on a paper ballot, too. MY BF made fun of me and said fraud is fraud. And I said, When Malia and Sasha Obama buy paper ballot companies, then I'll say you've got a point. It's way, way easier to cheat on electronic voting machines.
They won't be wonky where I voted, though...I voted in Illinois, and of all of Illinois, outside of Chicago, it's probably the most liberate municipality. But still...
hang on to your hats people....long night ahead. lots of folks waiting in long lines to vote, machines doing crazy crap, pundits salivating over tight horserace.....my money is on Obama.
Voted for President Obama here in New Jersey. Our normal voting place had no power but our awesome Democratic Mayor had set up an alternate location which was populated with electronic voting machines. It was worth standing in line.
That photo! Wow!
ReplyDeleteMichelle choked up during her speech, too. Their exchange--hugs and words--when Michelle introduced her husband was deeply moving to witness.
We've got your back, Mr. President!
ReplyDeleteI voted early...straight Democratic...I'm from a red state. OBAMA/BIDEN!
DeleteI WAS THERE!
ReplyDeleteVery inspiring.
I already voted for Barack and Joe and the rest of the Dems.

Ot Steve Schmidt just said he was happy about not letting she who shall not be named give a concession speech that may debase the moment.
ReplyDeleteYes, Bush was awful, but to follow another idiot of a president, you guys are clueless!
ReplyDeleteThis blog is a joke! You guys wouldn't know the truth if it smacked you in the face! Nothing but a bunch of sheep!
