Let's end the day on a high note. Crazed pro-gun nut Ted Nugent will NOT be returning to the Discovery Channel.

In addition to cancelling its popular “American Guns” reality show, The Discovery Channel confirmed to Raw Story on Tuesday that firearms enthusiast Ted Nugent will also not be returning to the channel in any form or fashion.

Speaking to Raw Story in remarks specified as “not for attribution,” a spokesperson admitted that “Ted Nugent’s Gun Country” didn’t do very well when it aired in October, even with fellow firearms fashionistas. Nielsen Ratings placed the viewership at about 864,000 people in all. But the network’s decision is not just about the numbers.

After Friday’s devastating massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the spokesperson said that Nugent would definitely not be returning to the Discovery Channel.

“‘American Guns’ concluded earlier this year,” the network’s prepared statement explains. “Discovery Channel chose not to renew the series and has no plans to air repeats of the show.”

Although the Discovery Channel’s statement did not directly link the cancellation of “American Guns” to Friday’s massacre, the channel’s spokesperson did say the tragedy “has really started something,” but didn’t specify what that something may be.

Nugent’s spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment.

You know sometimes it is really hard to remain a skeptic when the karmic justice smells this sweet.

What...Ted Nugent is still alive? So much for his big rant about killing himself if Pres. Obama won.

    1. Well, he did say dead or in prison.

      There's still the latter.

  3. I will never get the image out of my mind of him "preparing" to go to his draft board so he would be rejected. What a revolting excuse for a man.

Delightful news! And, he's a friend of Sarah and Todd Palin! Any involvement w/Sarah Palin ALWAYS turns to shit! Guess it's been proven AGAIN! It only took the killing of those poor little ones to bring Nugent to his demise.

Is it going to be negative toward the Palins too? Remember, she and her family have promoted guns for the past years even though Sarah and Bristol didn't know how to operate them or hit a target - it's all on video and can be proven folks. Frauds and liars!!!!

Did the Palins think his joke about pooping and pissing in his pants for two weeks so the draft board would think he was crazy was funny? I hope they didn't decide to try it for themselves. Some people already think they are full of sh*t even without the real thing. Maybe they thought the crystal meth joke was just hilarious too.

Nice couple, a Pedophile, and a Pimp's wife. A man who shits his pants for days to avoid the Draft, and a woman who does not practice good hygiene. The Smell does not bother them.

What happened to the Discovery Channel, they used to have good programming. Now all they have is "reality" shows...

Let's hope Sarah's worthless shows are next "never to be rerun." Wonder if she has the rights to the DVDs..I mean, SARAHPAC could make a buck or two selling the box sets right? Or are they being given away with a subscription to Newsmax like her 'bestsellers?' Nugent is a creep. Sarah is an idiot. And wasn't Rush supposed to leave the US forever after Obama won the FIRST time? I'm waiting for someone on the right to blame the tragedy on him, as an excuse to 'take our guns.' You know, the shooter must have been part of one of those mythical 're-education camps' Bachmann is always warning about, and magical Obama brainwashed him to hate small children and made sure his mother had plenty of ready weapons. Does that make any less sense than the stuff they are always spouting? I am so sick of this GOP, and if their demise comes out of this tragedy, that would be a good thing. That said, I am thinking kind and loving thoughts for the families.

More good news to use. A lot of the conservo crap sites, including Scarah's pond scum, are lying all over the place about Israeli gun laws. here's a good easy read by an expert researcher: (via ezra klein)

Okay, things must be really bad if paylin can no longer afford her speechwriter. trying hard to say sumtthin in this word salad - oh yeah, the media (of which she is a part of) and politicians (which she claims to be) are to blame for ever.ry.thing.

    From the Huffingtonpost.om
"Those who let themselves be terribly disappointed in political leaders as they ignore real problems, aided along with a complicit media bombarding us with irrelevant distractions in order to avoid facing the reality of a fallen culture, should know those distractions are to hide from a finger pointing to the main contributors to much of our problem. To stop distracting would result in acknowledging the political and media machine's starring roles in our failing society. So, as they too often tear down those who try to do good, while elevating and celebrating corrupt selfishness, they dumbly assume we don't know it is they who significantly contribute to our upside down world today. We've learned our lesson. Don't put your hope in Hollywood or Washington. Instead, build resolve and seek truth more aggressively than ever at such a time as this."

Whew! That first sentence is a paragraph's worth of warbled word salad.

She has a "Merry Christmas" message on her Serrorpac site that's full of love for her fellow poise pad wearing troglodytes. She posts a nativity movie from "The Bible", then shoots off that same word salad.

How touching, play the sheeple a movie clip, exploit a tragedy, blast the potus and media
      What a friggin marron!!

Since when has Sarah Palin ever once 'tried to do good?' And if it's her finger pointing, you bet I'd be hiding! Fallen culture? Failing society? Corrupt selfishness? Yeah, she does know all about that one. And now she's mad at the Hollywood that brought her and Bristol millions? That's a good one, Sarah. And if you ever decide to actually understand the truth about anything, get back to us, huh? Otherwise, this piece of amateurish writing is just another one of your meaningless rants.

"We learned our lesson. Don't put your faith in Hollywood or politicians" Since she has done BOTH and come out on the losing end, maybe we should pay attention (NOT!!) Their reality shows all tanked, and her run for VP exposed her for the dumbass she really is.

Winecooler, Sarah Palin Sinks To A New Low
      http://austinisafecker.wordpress.com/2012/12/18/sarah-palin-sinks-to-a-new-low/
Yes, at a time of great shock and sorrow Todd and Sarah Palin went to the Rodeo in Vegas and had a grand time. Most parents just wanted to hold their children close, not the Palins. Sarah and her writer made that pathetic attempt to have her look compassionate and humble while most of us were aching together. That FB crap was nothing more than a cheap deceptive way to advertise a Hollywood series for her cheap deceptive Hollywood cronies, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey.

Hypocrite Palin quoted "palling around with terrorists" as guilty by association.

She seems to be good buddies with this disgusting pedophile, who brands himself a patriot after shitting in his pants to avoid the draft.

Sarah, if anyone wrote the book on how to be a two faced bitch, that would be you.

If she writes another book, it will end up as recyclable paper just like the others. Who reads her drivel? There must be thousands of Palin family books rotting away someplace, that never sold. How is the Chuckles and Chuckles Jr. book tour going, anyway? I have a feeling her next attempt at easy money will be televangelism.

  17. Whether or not the tragedy on Friday had anything to do with the decision, I really don't care.

I applaud Discovery to dumping gun-related reality shows and hope the ripples spread out and build.

I wouldn't mind Ted Nugent being treated as a pariah either.

Very happy to hear Nugent was cancelled. I hope we'll soon hear similar news about Bristol's show and Sarah's FN contract.

This is OT but related to the fear underlying the Patriot movement and right wing weapons stockpiling--from the Ron Paul fan website - "Keep the Coming Crisis Out Of Your Home."

Thanks, Mr. G., for sparing us from seeing the bottom half of that photo! Looks like Teddy's singing mezzo suprano, just sayin!

  22. Yep, Nugent is a stereotypical chicken-hawk who avoided combat in Vietnam at all cost--because that would have meant exposing himself to North Vietnamese Army troops who could shoot back. Even more terrifying were the black-uniformed Viet Cong, with their complex network of tunnels and spider holes, from which sharp-shooters would take aim, shoot, and then instantly fall back into concealment.

In contrast, my Airborne Ranger hubby, with his Combat Infantry Badge and Bronze Star with V for valor, is rated 100% disabled and mentally incompetent with vascular dementia due to his exposure to the toxic defoliant Agent Orange in Vietnam. To his regret, he killed 20 or 21 men at close range, an untold number with grenades and howitzers, etc., because at the age of 20 he was thrust into a war straight from OCS and indoctrinated to believe he was protecting our freedom.

Throughout our married life, while still in possession of his faculties, he would not allow a gun in the house. The moral of this story is that anyone who has experienced the hideous blood-and guts reality of armed mayhem, wants nothing to do with guns and believes they belong in the hands of a select and highly-trained few, to be used only in time of direst need.
