A final bit of good news before, calling it a night.

Courtesy of Nashville's News Channel 5:

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has suspended the handgun carry permit of a local man who threatened to "start killing people" to protect his Second Amendment right.

In a statement released Friday officials said they had suspended the handgun carry permit of James Yeager, CEO of Tactical Response based on "material likelihood of risk of harm to the public".

Gee ya think?

I have to say that I hope they come down hard on ALL of these nutjobs and send a clear message that if you start talking about killing American citizens, or arming yourself in preparation for overthrowing the government, that your 2nd Amendment rights are suspended until you grow the fuck up!

    1. That is so cool!

This scientist has quite the sense of humor. Less than 6% of scientists are Republicans. Sorta supports the notion that Republicans have no sense of humor.

I also like that there are links to support his position. In the Information Science biz (I.E. Librarians) we call those citations.

  8. Unfortunately, the greatly wise State of Tennessee only revoked his concealed carry permit.

That motherfucker still has a lot of guns.

    1. And I'll bet no one is checking to see if he's carrying anyway.

Sorta like that drunk with the revoked driver's license who's driving anyway. (Then get's drunk, has an accident and kills someone.)

"The number one priority for our department is to ensure the public's safety. Mr. Yeager's comments were irresponsible, dangerous, and deserved our immediate attention. Due to our concern, as well as that of law enforcement, his handgun permit was suspended immediately. We have notified Mr. Yeager about the suspension today via e-mail. He will receive an official notification of his suspension through the mail," Commissioner Bill Gibbons said.

Does anyone doubt that any asshat that would make such statements will ignore the e-mail and subsequent notification and just carry his iron penis anyway?

Just remember... They might have suspended his gun permit, but he already has TONS of guns that he WILL NOT relinquish!!! This is a showdown waiting to happen, and I would not want to be in the envious position of a cop, having to arrest this nutcase...

This is good news but I would have liked to hear that they entered his home as well, and confiscated all of his guns. Sure hope the feds are keeping a sharp eye on this nutcase.

  16. This comment from HuffPo should put this RWNJ into perspective:

"The media inflates this guy's importance by labeling him a "Tennessee CEO." He is essentially an unemployed ex-cop from rural Tennessee who is scraping around trying to make a living without holding a real job. He formed two "companies" of which he is the sole employee in order to create a revenue stream which can charge expenses in order to avoid taxes."

    Fits, doesn't it? LOL

Yeah, a 'small businessman,' I'm sure the Chamber of Commerce would work real hard to beef up this guys' appeal and success.

It's worked to make a lot of idiots appear successful and competent in the Right Wing Bubble Sphere - Bachmann with her "tax" expertise having been on generous federal maternity leave all the time as an IRS tax attorney from Bob Jones University and Christine O'Donnell as a "constitutional" expert from that 2 week nut-job course and Sarah Palin as an 'energy expert' because she remembered "fungible commodity" from her highly technical and boring briefing books at her appointed Oil & Gas Commission job (that she QUIT.)

Never had so much money been spent to elect so few, Dick Armey, John Sununu and Karl Rove proved that they can have all the assumed power, wealth and media access they want - they were just Emperors with no Clothes. Their supporters projected clothing on them and thought Mitt Romney or any of their whack-job designees had a chance in hell.

Well, this guy is just a bottom barrel wanna-be who grabbed that golden ring of the most recent social hot-button issue to appear relevant.

  17. I have to say that unless appearances are deceptive, I wouldn't want him armed with a teaspoon let alone any form of gun - as for his being an instructor in armed mass destruction... the language fails.

  18. Gee, imagine this guy is your neighbor!!! I chuckle to myself that he has just set himself up for a crush of like thinkers, wannabes and investigators. Company records, tax files, etc. will most likely be scrutinized.

Just imagine the information the government will glean from this outburst and will identify and track. But on the plus side those red checks next to these bozos names will follow them throughout the rest of their lives and keep us a little bit safer.

Sarah Palin wants to know if Mr. Yeager can show her how to use the gun she keeps under her bed.

I'm sure Sarah Palin's going to come out with a cutesy "Don't Retreat, Reload" missive and become the 2nd Amendment Queen since nothing else is working out for her. It's a second chance to be really bad at something that still makes her popular and wealthy with minimal effort or talent.

God, this is so good because it’s just so bad.

You remember James Yeager, the CEO of Tactical Response, who says he was going to “start shooting people” if President Obama signs an executive order on guns. Here’s a video of Yeager doing an interview with a local TV station. He basically starts off kind of trying to walk his statements back. Kinda. But then … remember, he’s just crazy so he just can’t help himself. Soon he’s back to making even more specific threats. And the reporter just keeps giving him more rope. Just watch. You need to watch. Video after the jump …

    1. Man.

This guy really needs all of his permits revoked.

And if he commits a violation, for instance concealed carry with a revoked permit, every gun should be impounded.

It's the nutjobs that manage to sound reasonable that are the most dangerous.

A Schaeffer Cox in the making.

One can only speculate as to the reasons he is no longer a policeman. Mental stability comes immediately to my mind.

  23. So what? He's still got his guns, right?

How many drunks drive with suspended licenses? How many of those drunks, get drunk, drive and kill people?

So his carry permit was suspended. BFD.

Let me know when they impound his gun. They impound cars of drunks that drive with suspended licenses.

Who is following this guy around and checking to make sure he's not carrying that gun? Who is going to impound that gun if he is?

    Yeah, thought so.
