I like to think of that Song by Lynyrd Skynyrd "Simple Man" as a mini-teaching. :)

My husband told me that his parents told him that the best thing he could do as a father for his children, was to love & respect their mother. It obviously hit home because my sons are not only extremely respectful and loving towards me but the women in their life have told us we did a great job raising them. My father treated my mother in the same manner and my brothers are wonderful husbands and fathers. We are most definitely a product of our environment. My daughter said it's difficult to meet a man that will live up to the standards set by the men in her family but she won't settle for less nor will they let her. My daughter-in-law told me that she thought she was in love with my son when they were dating but when she saw how he treated me, that did it for her. He was always respectful towards her but when she saw how he was raised, she knew it wouldn't disappear after they married.

I look at some families and know that the chances of the children ever having a happy, loving relationship are very slim due to the relationship that was exhibited by their parents. Bristol is a prime example of a young woman without self-respect. Sarah and Todd are to blame but sadly will never realize it.
