Darn that Satan always telling woman it's okay to think for themselves, pursue a career, or eat an appple.

I know what you are thinking, "Gryphen surely you know that Christian church does not hold such antiquated ideas of a woman's role these day,"

Hmm maybe you're right, let me check with famous Christian spokesperson Pat Robertson.

Oh, yeah that is MUCH better!

P.S. By the way, since WHEN does Pat Robertson answers questions in Maxim magazine?

No, no, it's the MAN in a marriage who should have nice hair, clothes, and a thin body. And act nice. To keep romance alive. To lure his partner away from obsessive computer use.

I agree. Except for the THIN body. That just ain't gonna happen.

3:13, I sincerely hope you are jesting.

If ANYONE is unaware it is the responsibility of BOTH partners, they shouldn't have a relationship like marriage! Marriage takes work. It is NOT a 50/50 thing. If anything it should be 110% from each partner.

If this is a question that needs to be discussed, it shouldn't surprise us we have such a high divorce rate!

Leland, I don't think you understand the meaning of "percent".

Randall, if you can't recognize the intent, don't make snide comments. It should be obvious I was using it to emphasize. Also, it is a very old statement that was intended to demonstrate the amount of effort needed.

Oh and just so you know, having been in Naval aviation, I can tell you there was a detent on the engine throttle that used to be labeled "110%". It meant the afterburners were ignited.

      Go play somewhere else.

In my book, it's called "giving it all you got, and then some". And when both partners have this kind of can-do attitudes, things won't be perfect, but the ship will sail smoother and in the right direction. Plus, there'll be more smiles along the way.

You stated it well, Leland. Don't let a friendly poke ruffle you there. People who can, do and have done. Those who can't and haven't, blame others for their shortcomings.

To quote Pat Robertson, or the Pope, as spokesmen for Christians is to ignore a whole group of us who are way wide of their targets.

Actually, it is good to have Pat Robertson still around....

where else can we see a model of truly ugly fundamentalist Christian behavior as a reminder how not to live our lives

Robertson has become a parody, but his senior moments make it difficult for him to stay in-character.

OT, but have you seen what Colin Powell had to say about dear Sarah and the rest of the racists in the GOP? Priceless!

It never ceases to amaze me that Robertson and his ilk continue to say and do things that totally insult they very people who send him money - little old ladies - and they keep on sending him their money.

I wonder when the last time Mrs. Pat Robertson had an orgasm with the good reverend? I think that syphilis has affected his mind.

Anyone ever see the "little missus"? Yeah, me neither! She must be REALLY hot looking - just saying. Bet she cooks good, too!
