A gunman reportedly attempted to assassinate the leader of Bulgaria's Turkish ethnic party during a televised conference on Saturday.
The leader of Bulgaria’s Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) party, Ahmed Dogan, was assaulted by a gunman while on stage at the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia, according to the Sofia Globe.
The assailant, 25-year-old Oktai Enimehmedov, climbed onstage and held a gun to Dogan's head, but the gun reportedly got stuck and was unable to shoot.
In the video it looks like just about everybody in the room takes their turn kicking and punching this asshole. That may seem brutal, but compared to what this guy tried to do he got off easy of you ask me.
In America he probably would have been shot full of holes and a number of innocent bystanders would have been killed or wounded as well. I think I prefer Bulgaria's method.
Thank God he didn't have an assault weapon...many would have been killed. I hope someone shows Wayne LaPierre this video so he sees that it doesn't take another gun to subdue this assassin.

ReplyDeleteI'm not a gun expert but that handgun is small. No wonder the would be assassin had to expose himself and get up real close to shoot his intended victim.

I hate to say this but we will continue to have mass shootings by unhinged people as long as the laws don't change.
I hope that guy's penis is bigger than that "gun". hahaha

I read somewhere small handguns like the one the failed assassin used often don't fire initially because the moron stored the gun with a round in the chamber. Apparently there's a spring that moves the round into firing position, and over time with a round in front of it the spring loses its tension.

ReplyDeleteExactly, and the NRA would then come out and say how lucky we were to have people in the audience who had guns to help keep this from being worse. To the NRA, the innocent individuals who would have been accidentally shot would represent the sacrifices we all must accept in defending, and keeping our country free from those ever present who want to take over our freedoms and our country from us. If not saying that, the NRA would find some other weak excuse to rationalize why nonprofessionals should be allowed to carry firearms in public, and for the taking of innocent lives in a situation like this.
The NRA has become the major far right wing source for misinformation and lies on firearms. Watching Hannity and the NRA marksman on FOX describe how smaller diameter bullets do less damage was a complete falsehood from the NRA. They failed to mention the affect of velocity, exit wounds, and the behavior of bullets one they enter a body. They're very aware, like most gun enthusiast are, about the various behavior of different bullets once they enter the body. With holding this information during their "demo" was nothing but lying by omission. Of course, it's not only the NRA who does this, FOX is also well know for doing the same on a daily bases.
I wouldn't be surprised if this idiot just forgot to turn the safety off after he got on stage. If so, that would put him in the same intelligence category as most of NRA members, especially if they believe the propaganda the NRA is trying to feed the public.
ReplyDeleteThe last line is so true! We're all just "collateral damage" in the gun fetishist's eyes. The desensitization to the humanity in others is what's most disturbing to me.
