A final reminder for the evening.

Courtesy of the Stabley Times:

Today’s attack on the United States embassy in Turkey marks the second attack of its kind during the Obama administration, the first having been the Benghazi attack in Libya which resulted in four American deaths. There have been no reported American deaths in Turkey thus far. While these attacks may appear to the untrained eye to be the start of a worrisome trend, such attacks are nothing new.

While there have been two embassy attacks and four deaths during the four-plus years of the Obama administration, this represents a significant slowdown in such violence. During the eight years of the Bush administration there were eleven such attacks on U.S. embassies and consulates, with 52 deaths. So why are these attacks suddenly front and center in the headlines, even as they become more rare?

Benghazi was the first embassy attack to be politicized, as republicans in congress attempted to turn the attack into a scandal or controversy in an effort to hinder Obama’s reelection bid, and more recently to hamper any future presidential ambitions of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. None of the eleven attacks during the Bush adminstration were politicized by democrats in congress.

Chris Rock has joked that George W. Bush "fucked up so bad, he made it hard for a white man to run for president!"

And that is almost too true to even be funny.

But the sad thing is that if ANYBODY in the media or politics had held Bush to even one tenth of the standard that they hold Obama to, he would have been impeached before that new President smell had even had a chance to wear off.

George W. Bush was the man in office when this country entered two unnecessary wars, when the economy fell out from under us, and when terrorists were killing Americans like Texans at a turkey shoot. And STILL the Republicans, and their propagandists, covered for his ass.

So whenever I hear anybody in the GOP, or Right Wing radio, or Fox News talking any shit about our President, I just remind myself that their silence during the Bush years makes them conspirators in the deaths of thousands of Americans and over a million Iraqis and Afghans.

With THAT thought in mind I give their complaints about this President the kind of respect that it deserves, FUCKING NONE!

Lindsey Graham (McCain's good buddy) even had the stupidity to say "In my view Hillary Clinton got away with murder in Benghazi" !!! Four people were killed and while that is tragic, what about the hundreds of thousands killed or maimed in W's two totally unecessary wars? I was so disgusted when W had photo ops with wounded vets, running with an amputee, grinning into the camera. He was such an arse, he caused the young man to be in that condition, then acts like he is doing him a favor running with him. He was the worst president EVER. The repubs. can not handle intelligent people, they prefer the clowns like W, Romney and Palin.

Regardless if sp ever even knew what the hell she was talking about, she knew it was mean and spiteful. We're all going to feel a little twinge of compassion for this bitch but just remember all the harm she has done starting with death panels, this bitch taught me how to hate and I'll never forgive her for that. #UniteBlue: Liberals Fight Back Against Conservative Attacks on Twitter

More dirty tricks by a desperate minority: The 2012 election taught conservatives that they are the minority, even on social media like Twitter and Facebook. While the Tea Party has started their own version of Facebook (tick tock — waiting for them to be sued for stealing the layout), their solution on Twitter has been to silence speech they don’t agree with by spam blocking en masse to get progressives suspended. Last weekend they got over a dozen accounts suspended.

“#TGDNexposed” was trending on Twitter after progressives uncovered the coordinated assault. Zach Green, Founder of UniteBlue.com, explained to Politicus how conservatives are trying to silence the speech of progressives using the hashtag #TGDN, “A group of conservatives organized under the hashtag #TGDN has been targeting progressive accounts with the intention of getting them suspended. They report progressive accounts as Spam, which is particularly effective against smaller accounts with few followers. We’re helping the Left find and follow one another so they are protected.”

Into this assault stepped #UniteBlue. Mr. Green described #UniteBlue in an interview with Politicus as “a watering hole for progressives to connect on Twitter. Our sole purpose is to connect the Left with the understanding we’re stronger together.” Unite Blue functions on Twitter as a list to protect progressive accounts from being suspended via conservative “spam blocks” by getting them more followers.

Gryph on a roll is like cheese on a Ritz or Aunt Bee's cooking.

  6. Agreed, Gryph. It is almost as if the entire GOP was at Norquist's VIP meeting..not just the 'leaders' of the new fascist party, but the entire segment of the population aligning with them. They decided before inauguration day 2009 that they would never, ever work with a black President. They would enver give him credit for anything, and they would make sure the mudslingers were well paid and seen often, no matter that every word was a lie. It was almost inevitable that we would end up where we are as far as the mass shootings and the idiocy of the NRA and GOP. They thought their talk of civil war would get them votes, and since they still lost, they have to ramp up the hate even more. It is disgusting, it is unAmerican, and it is certainly nowhere near Christian.

Conservative Intelligence Briefing commissioned a poll among likely voters to assess the political atmosphere for the 2014 U.S. Senate race in Alaska.

In a Republican Senate primary, Governor Sean Parnell leads former Governor Sarah Palin 32%-27%.

LOL With 60 percent NEGATIVES, Sarah Palin would be LAUGHED out of a Republican Primary. It would have to be a 5-way split for her to even come close in a general election. There's no damn way she will get more than half of those who hate her. With unfavorable of 60%, she'd have to win 90% of those who would even consider voting for her in AK.

This is more of that Palin wishful thinking like her mouthing off and saying that she honestly felt that she could best Barack Obama for President. The people of Alaska have been burned by trusting this QUITTER already, and are still learning of all her shenanigans. Parnell covered for her sorry ass to keep her out of jail. And she now thinks that she can beat him ? Oh Lord, please let this delusional bitch agree with her most optimistic dimwit pbots and get in the primary so we can get the leaks from all of the redacted emails that Parnell hid from the citizens of AK. Please oh please oh please...

Ot- Chris Kyle, Navy Seal , sniper (and the one on that show with Todd Palin,) was shot at a gun range and killed in TX today. Palin, of course comes out with condolences on FB and, as ever, doesn't miss a chance to hype herself with their first meeting at "the premiere of the movie, "Undefeated." "
Always weaves herself/her products into things. ]She could have left that out---easily

wfaa.com has the story as do many others. (I'd copy and paste the whole sniper but can't figure out how on here.

Not only did W lie us into two wars, at least one of which was completely unnecessary, HE WAS PRESIDENT WHEN WE WERE ATTACKED ON 9/11. He & his administration ignored & blew off the warnings & evidence, mainly because the Clinton administration thought that Al Queda was important, so, like small children having temper tantrums, they ignored it.
You can bet that if Al Gore had been president (as he should have been) when we were attacked, he'd have been impeached. Though I cannot believe that Mr. Gore would have just stopped the investigation into Al Queda, as Bush did.

That's a very good point, 3,000 people died on AMERICAN soil under George's watch - he didn't read the cables, or he wanted trouble to get back at 'em for his daddy)
