Darwin Day, eh? Only fitting that before day's end Ted Nugent will merit a Darwin Award!

  2. On this Darwin Day I heartily recommend two books by Greg Bear. One is "Darwin's Radio and the other is Darwin's Children".

  4. Gryphen,

I doubt Darwin wrote the depicted quote as it contradicts his thesis. Consider, Darwin was arguing about genetic changes, or macro-adaptations, not behavioral changes within the life of an organism. I text searched my copy of Origin of Species and couldn't find it.

Not that the quote isn't pithy, and apt, it just doesn't seem consonant with the thrust of Darwin's work.

    agree with 8:12

it's a misquote - but it represents the idea that most associate with Darwin, even though it's wrong
