Now that she's out as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton isn't going to be hurting for money, thanks to speaking fees of more $200,000 per speaking appearance, according to a source familiar with the situation.
The fee puts Clinton in the upper echelons of the speaking industry.
Those who make six figures per speech include Al Gore, Dick Cheney, and George W. Bush; those who make more than $200,000 include Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Clinton.
The fee will be more than Clinton's annual salary as Secretary of State, which was $186,000.
Wow! That is pretty damn impressive!
You would think with this kind of money waiting for her she would have quit that Secretary of State job earlier, instead of sticking out for a full term.
I mean Sarah Palin could not WAIT to start bringing in the big buck on the speakers tour. How much did she make again?
- $75,000
- First-Class airfare
- "Deluxe" hotel accommodations
- Chauffeur to and from event with SUV (or, in pinch, black Town Car)
- Wooden lecturn
- Two bottled waters
- Bendy straws (for the waters)
Not only that, but Hillary is also going to be doing a few of these "pro bono,"
Politico's Playbook reported on Monday that Clinton would hit the speaking circuit this spring, and that "Secretary Clinton will likely do some speeches for no fee for causes she champions, and expects to occasionally donate her fees for charitable purposes."
I know that we have heard unsubstantiated reports of Palin giving speeches fro free, but there is not ONE scintilla of evidence to suggest that is accurate.
Let's face it when it comes to class, intelligence, and charity, Hillary is head and shoulders above a certain half term quitter governor from Alaska.
Kind of funny that the McCain campaign thought adding her to the ticket would attract disappointed Hillary supporters in 2008, don't you think?
I found the fact that anyone connected to the GOP thought that we Hillary supporters would have anything more than a passing interest in Sarah Palin demeaning, frankly. Not knowing much about her other than the rabid press reports about her being a beautiful Governor and a nursing mom (HA!) I actually tuned into the convention wondering about this new Wonder Woman. I already knew about the Bridge to Nowhere, so when she lied about that right away, I was ready to write her off. THEN she attacked candidate Obama, lied about 'selling the private jet on Ebay' and I couldn't watch any more. Her schtick got ever more hateful, spiteful, and ignorant as the campaign wore on. I am so glad she is out of the national spotlight, and that Hillary is ready to shine.
ReplyDeleteI didn't like Palin from the start! Never once did I even consider her in place of Hillary. I agree, it was demeaning of the McCain camp to think they would win intellectual Hillary supporters over to Palin. She has proven to be exactly what I expected..a grifting, ignorant, hateful, evil and vile parasite!
DeleteGO HILLARY!
I betcha Hillary won't be seen stumbling around car auction lots like drunk or stoned Sarah.
ReplyDeleteDo you think Hillary has any country bumpkin relatives who would sell Hillary's shoes on EBay like Sarah Palin's relatives did?
ReplyDeleteRemember, Hillary did have to put up with Roger Clinton, Bill's wayward hillbilly half-brother. He coulda been a Palin, that one.
DeleteProbably not, anon@1:11, and I'll bet Hillary doesn't have any skank relatives that would wear any of those HO-heel shoes that Sarah wears, either. Just sayin'.
DeleteAnon 3:28pm
DeleteSome of what Sarah wears could be cute, on a younger person. The entire problem with Palin is that she takes some crazy couture shoes, that on their own are cutting edge and cute, but then she pairs them with other items that look like they come from Target or WalMart. She always misses being fashionable by a country mile because she just doesn't know how to shop and how to dress herself. With all of her money it always makes me sick that she is such a walking fashion disaster.
It's ironic that she used to shop at Nordstrom on her Mayor and Governor salaries yet when she truly rakes in the big bucks she looks like a walking advert for cheap big box fashion. Granted, I don't think she had a personal shopper at Nordies or even had her clothing tailored to fit, but she did have a few quality pieces that she wore frequently, albeit improperly, such as pairing a pencil skirt with an athletic windbreaker! Is she doing this to try to appeal to her base, which I'm sure shop at Target and WalMart. Is that her thing? At any rate, if I had a tenth of her money I'd reach out to a stylist for help and even hire a personal shopper to dress me. I guess that might freak out her base though, as they are mostly the "honey boo boo" types.
Her shoes are fine. It's those nasty feet in them that would make them undesirable for anyone else to wear. She's so nappy, I wouldn't wear any of her clothes either. Her shoes are HO-heels bc she's an attention ho, not so much because she can't buy nice shoes.

DeleteDitto from me on all of your observations and comments.
If we were to graph this out, Palin making 75K for being stoopid, uneducated and a fake means Hillary should make about 200 gazillion $$ per speech.N'est pas?
ReplyDeleteNo comparison between Hillary and the idiot from Wasilla, AK!
ReplyDeleteHillary is so far ahead - in education, experience, raising an outstanding daughter, having a husband that has an outstanding approval rating as a former POTUS, and on and on.
Fuck Sarah Palin and the iceberg she road in on...hopefully it melts soon and takes her to the bottom of the ocean to where we'll never hear from her again. It can't happen soon enough!
People will pay to hear Hillary Clinton speak, because she thoroughly knows about the subjects at hand, and has strong personal convictions.
ReplyDeleteSarah Palin knows very little about not very much, and can't put her ideas into words anyway.
You get what you pay for.
I can't think of a single politician worth $2,000 per speech, let alone $200,000. All any of them do is pat themselves on the back and pretend they have solutions to our problems. What they don't acknowledge is, they caused most of our problems.
ReplyDeleteWhen they're out pandering for votes, they shouldn't be getting paid. They should be paying for the exposure. Just another sign that politicians are out of touch elitists.
Sarah Palin is the number one PANDERER.
DeleteWe all know you don't feel that way about Sarah Palin, anon 1:53. You're most likely one of those women who supported Hilary and then moved on to Sarah Palin.
DeleteListen 9:25 First off I'm a man. Secondly, I wouldn't pay 2 cents to listen to the Wasilla Foghorn. You'd have to pay me dearly to get me in the same room as her.
DeleteI think that she would do a good job; pushing Obama's policies and helping to move this country forward. She can talk to people in all 50 states and some countries. They will welcome her.
ReplyDelete2014 is not too far away.
As I've said here before, the pee pond thinks their queen would wipe the floor with Hillary in a face off. What a crock of delusional moose poop! Biden chose to temper her in the VP debate, Hillary would not.
ReplyDeleteYou think Romney sweat bullets in the third presidential debate? $arah's plastic face would melt onto the floor.
Go Hillary!
ReplyDeletePalin is busy with her plastic surgeon getting her turkey neck tuned up for her upcoming cpac appearance. I hoping the doctor shows up drunk and the scalpel slips.
ReplyDeleteWhat?? Sarah was suppose to be a replacement for Hillary?? She was never anything more than Viagra for horny teabaggers/Republicans.
ReplyDeletebaseball Mom
Yup, Sarah WAS a fame-whore they could fap to before. Now they can only do it to her OLD pics from 2008.
DeleteWhat, you thought John McCain hired Sarah because she was just another pretty face? HE thought swapping one vajajay for another would make the votes go his way. That's what he gets for thinking with his viagra overdosed vienna sausage!
DeleteOh, come on now, let's be fair. Sometimes Palin would strap Trig into his high chair and make him listen to her practice her talkin' points and she did that for FREE! That would count as her donations to a Down Syndrome charity, right?
ReplyDeleteIn a warped way, that thought almost makes me grateful she didn't make him wear his glasses and hearing aids. THAT would be the ultimate torture, worse than waterboarding.
DeleteI'm in MN and I knew Palin was a fraud the second she lapsed into the bad "Fargo" accent in an effort to act like she fit in at the Excel Center. Around here she was a laughing stock not only for her lame attempt to mimic Francis but also because she didn't understand the Coen brothers are from MN and were pimping the state with that cornball accent on all the "locals"
ReplyDeleteThe folksy winking persona at the debate gagged me. That was over the top. I perceived her as a bad joke and obviously dodging the questions. The campaigns' plan to cover up her ignorance fooled the fools.
DeleteSarah is down to $20-25k plus coach airfare and business-level accommodations including ground transfers. But I think she gets 4 bendy straws and a couple of Red Bulls and a pint of cheap vodka in a welcome basket in her room. The days of $75k are a distant memory.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the Wasilla dumb ass debate Hillary Clinton. Straight up debate. No pre-screened questions, no cue cards, no teleprompter, no moderator, no answers written on the hand, just a plain old school Lincoln/Douglas style debate. Have Bloomberg put up a $250,000 prize, winner take all.
ReplyDeleteI would hate to see it - when someone is as dumb as Palin - they are very difficult to debate against - they simply smile and grin and talk nonsense.
DeleteI had to read that twice. Arnold Schwartzenegger makes over two hundred grand a speech. and is on the same level as President Bill Clinton AND Hillary? ? ?
ReplyDeleteWhat could Ahhhhrnoooold possibly say that's worth more than two hundred grand?
And just the thought of Hillary starting out at a level Baldy couldn't even dream of makes me happy - for the fridge seller in Wasilla!
One does have to ask who can afford $200K for a speech - certainly not public universities - and who will be shelling out $200,000 for a talk and what they'll be expecting in return from candidate and perhaps President Hillary Clinton.
ReplyDeleteCould be that she won't be a candidate - and for an ex sec state that is not a high figure. Inside and outside the US there will be groups willing to listen. If Palin can get $75,000 for a speech, Hillary can probably get $1million
DeleteNot sure that Cheney & Bush get that sort of money any more.
It is true that Palin made 75-100k for repeating the same post stump speech. Perhaps the quality of speaker no longer merited top dollars.
ReplyDeleteI believe the Palin reality shows tarnished any credibility she had left beyond her loyal base. Palin got the paid gigs she wanted lacking forsight for the future.

ReplyDeleteThat is the best description for S.P. I have ever read.
Can Democrats Mess With Texas in 2016?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2013/02/22/can_democrats_mess_with_texas_in_2016_117112.html
Yes. Yes they can with Hillary running!
Hillary and Sarah are two completely different women. One big difference between these two is that Hillary can write her own speeches while Sarah has to pay someone to write her speeches.
