Is Joe Miller really delusional enough to once again seek a Senate seat in Alaska? He just might be.

Courtesy of Politico:

Joe Miller, the tea party favorite who was backed by Sarah Palin when he roiled GOP politics in the 2010 midterm elections, is seriously considering another bid at an Alaska Senate seat, a campaign that could prompt a bare-knuckled effort against a candidate pushed by the party establishment.

The 45-year-old Miller has been testing the waters in meetings with influential social conservative activists and gun-rights groups in Washington. He’s quietly met with tea party senators, such as Rand Paul of Kentucky and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, as well as former South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint, the leader of The Heritage Foundation. Miller also told Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran — the new head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee — that he was weighing a run in 2014.

So essentially Miller is seeking support from the fringiest of the fringe hoping that he can get their support to help him overthrow the Republican party in Alaska and become the nominee to run against Mark Begich in 2014.

And this is AFTER his handpicked Alaska GOP chairman got kicked to the curb.

And not only does Miller have NO hope of getting the backing of the Republicans up here in Alaska he also has to contend with the embarrassment of losing to a write in candidate in 2010, the fact that he was named in the trial of Schaeffer Cox as the man who introduced him to FBI informant Bill Fulton, and of course his ties to perhaps the most hated politician in Alaska

Apparently NONE of that seems to bother Miller in the least:

Miller appears unmoved by the criticism from some in his party who fear he’ll simply reopen old wounds and tarnish one of the party’s best pickup opportunities in the country if he decides to run, saying the “establishment” is quick to attack “reformers” like himself.

“I think if the Republican Party is going to win, they really need to kick the likes of Karl Rove out,” Miller told POLITICO. “They are the ones that are pulling the party away from the foundation, which has a winning message.”

Works for me. If this asshole wants to put himself out there for us to bitchslap his vaguely bearded ass all the way back to Fairbanks again, then I am all for it! I loved it last time and I have little doubt I will find this time any less enjoyable.

But I might be the least of Miller's concerns if he runs again.

Asked whether she could back Miller if he were to win the primary in 2014, Murkowski said flatly: “No.”

“I just don’t see him becoming the nominee,” Murkowski told POLITICO. “I think all you have to do is go back to the elections. … Let’s just say that two years ago is a relatively short time in political life.”

Let's face it if Murkowski wants to crush Joe Miller like a bug, then he is about to get splattered all over the damn place. Murkowski is essentially the queen of the Republican party up here, and she is certainly NOT going to sit idly by while Miller tries, once again, to take over.

Like I said, I hope he is stupid enough to run. It will be a blast to watch him getting the crap beaten out of him again.

Looks like running for office is the only way he can avoid getting a job.

Hey if Mark Sanford can come off the Appalachian trail and try to sucker his way back in, why not this tool?

  5. Joe Miller is turning into the Christine "I'mnotawitch" O'Donnell of Alaska!

He's also has the Palin curse on him...so there's that too! LOL!!

No, he is gunning for Mark Begich's seat if it's senate, not Don Young.

Wow, J(oke) Miller is as delusional as the half term/half wit Paylin -- he believes he has a chance to win as a politician should he choose to run, instead of the reality that he is a laughing stock. Like Paylin, he is a pathological liar and hypocrite.

I don't see Murkowski as the Queen of the Republican party in Alaska. She can't be trusted any further than can Miller. We need to get as many Republicans out of seats throughout Alaska as possible in the upcoming elections. They are a corrupt party and have been for years! Watch for whom you cast your vote, Alaskans! Wise up!

    1. I am not saying she is trustworthy, far from it.

I am simply saying that in Alaska, with Ted Stevens dead, her father Frank retired, and Don Young still crazy, she is the top Republican and holds a lot of damn power.

If she reaches out to GOP donors and heavyweights within the party she can effectively crush Joe Miller.

The other part of this possible Joe Miller challenge to Lisa M. is the nature of the campaign the Pee Party would run against her. Lies, scorched earth, bibles, and probably a little bit of truth.

Ugly and unhinged doesn't begin to describe it.

Lisa Murkowski will back Begich. They work well together and both know it is good to have reps from both parties in DC>

There will be trouble if Joe Miller recalls his band of bad guys to active duty.

Ultra-bad guy, former military guy, and Joe Miller fanatic, John Thomas, was recalled to help Gabrielle LeDoux in her recent legislative race and he reigned his special brand of hate and lawlessness over East Anchorage.

If all of Miller's bad guys show up in force, Alaska beware! Have your cell phones ready to dial 9-1-1.

LeDoux is as much of a turn coat as Lindsey/Anchorage. LeDoux was always a strong Democrat and only switched when she knew she had a better chance of getting elected if she joined the party in power. She always supported womens rights, no cruise ship dumping, etc. But now she tows the party line to remain 'popular'with the powers that be. I've knowne her for over 20 years. she is the ultimate opportunist and will do/say anything to get elected.

Whatever. Lisa Murkowski is a owns a "Prestige Political Position" due to her fathers influence. Much like the Bush family, the Murkowskis are creating a legacy in politics in Alaska.

If Lisa M had to operate within her own credentials she'd have a bit of trouble. It took her 5 tries to pass the Alaska Bar Exam....she ain't all that, she just knows people; her father being the most important and influential person she knows. She's part of the problem within the Beltway; legacy political influence rather than electing those that are most suited for the job.

Granted, I'd much rather have seen her elected than Joe Miller but that choice was rather a "Scylla and Charybdis" sort of choice; lesser of two evils kind of thing.

Alaska can do better than both Lisa M and Joe M and we should try harder to find a more appropriate candidate.

You know whenever Sarah Palin hugged McCain, she looked like she does hugging Joe Miller...the look is one that says, "This is painful. I don't like hugging this guy, this old man. I can hardly stand it, but I gotta do it." It looks like she's really straining to go #2.

Only a little off topic, last part of a comment at Malia Littman's blog:

"As of today, we had it confirmed by Fed’l sources, that Sarah Palin is no longer officially a resident of Alaska. All AK has left is her dirt to deal with."

He can cozy up to all the fringe Righties he wants, and continue to be seriously delusional - why do people and papers give him credence? His primary win was a fluke, it won't happen again - no need to worry about a general.

I'd still like to ask the grifter how he's severely disabled from his service.

I’d like to ask how he decided his kids were eligible for and used the services of DenaliCare when he doesn’t believe in government subsidized health care.

miller is a total loser who has no job prospects - which is why he keeps pining for the job of alaska senator. he wants that salary and all the perks that come with it. he had too many kids with no way to pay for them, he can't hold a fucking job so he wants the $$ that comes with being senator. what a lazy lowlife dirtbag.

If he is considering 2014 he is going after Mark Begich's (Dem) seat, who may indeed be vulnerable. I think the refuc..icans may be trying to weed out the more extreme tea partiers they earlier on recruited but do not discount the impact of outside money. Be afraid, be very afraid as cornered ratthuglicans become more desparate.

I am a long, long, long time lurker (since 2008 - linked from Mudflats) & extremly grateful for Jean, Grif & other bloggers who alerted us to SP's actual record & short comings. As a resident of SC trying to become more active on local level to prevent repeats of recent history. Thank you for all you do.
