Just a simple picture of our First Lady to end the day.
I am not a huge fan of that dress/color, but her face is just gorgeous. Her inner beauty shines thru with her warm smile, what can I say...I simply adore that woman. Her husband is pretty awesome too.
Come on, Sam. This isn't a Sarah Palin site where everyone must absolutely love every distinguishable characteristic of every single detail about M/M POTUS.
It's okay if someone else's opinion is that Michelle looks better in a different color. Personally, I don't know shit about which colors look better on someone; I just know when it's appealing, and she looks pretty good in the pic.
But I couldn't tell u if it's the colors or the bangs. They both seem to work for me. And I prefer the athletic look of her in her "stretchy britches" (any color is fine!), but this is a portrait, so I get that part. Still, I think she's pretty stylish lady, and I have much admiration for her and that guy she's married to.
"her husband is pretty awesome too .." you got that right! Lighten up DetroitSam, Sharon just means she personally does not like the dress/color; I do ... but I love Navy Blue. The point is the First Lady looks awesome, and yes, her inner beauty shines forth. We are so blessed!
It's not just that she is a beauty - the intelligence shines through the eyes, the smile and the posture - not to mention the style - some ex politicians could learn a lot by studying FLOTUS.
I loved the bangs right away, but when I saw her at the inauguration, I thought they looked especially good. Something about seeing the whole package, her clothing, her height, her smile...it all just works.
She is an amazing woman in every way - her exercise and eating healthy programs could potentially do more for American children and families than any legislation. It takes BOTH - and the very intelligent Obamas know that.
Remember that Michelle Obama is just two weeks older than Sarah Palin. She's the embodiment of a healthy life, lived with a loving husband and children, working to help the families of veterans. She is the best our country has to offer. Sarah Palin, however, looks so much older than her age, seems not to do anything for anyone else, and has won the Dysfunctional Family of Alaska Award four years running. Neither of them came from privileged backgrounds. One difference is simply Mrs. Obama's intense desire to learn, to earn, to create. To make a life for her children different than the one she knew. That's what Michelle Obama did, and is doing, and is showing others how it's done.
And remember, Michelle had great parents who worked hard and valued education. I believe in public education with all my heart, but if the parents are not their kids' first and loudest teacher, a kid may not succeed. Kids must know that their parents expect as much or more from them than their teachers. Are you listening Sarah? You may be a millionaire, but you are poor in spirit, and your poor children are following in your footsteps.
Beautiful inside and out. She just gets prettier every year! Have we ever heard her say one thing negative about anyone? The whole family set a fine example for everyone. Even Beau shows respect for others. We are very fortunate to have them all in the White House!
I can't help but snark about another IM subject. Imagine that was Sarah Palin sitting there in that pose (yeah, she fantasized being Prez, not 1st lady). Your eyes would be drawn like magnets to Palin's bony, skeletal, bleach-whitened hands...
...and you'd ask yourself, if she routinely spends time in her $35,000 tanning bed, why are her hands whitened and bleached-looking? Gloves? Vitiligo? (which is a depigmentation condition usually affecting blacks, like Michael Jackson)
BEAUTY, INTELLIGENCE, and CLASS. The complete package to serve as a role model for her young daughters, and all young woman of our nation. We LOVE you First Lady Michelle Obama!
I am 63 and have never been prouder of a President, First Lady and their family.
BTW, just so Sarah and her bots understand - I am a white woman in a red state and there are millions who share my pride in and gratitude for the Obama's. So there you crazy fools. Wake up and be grateful.
Me too kind of. 63 y-o white woman, but Blue state, a happier place to be. I look at this picture of Michelle and understand why Barack can't help acting like a schoolkid around her.
She's an amazing First Lady. She's smart, exudes class, empathy and grace. The President is lucky to have her and we're lucky they're in the White House.
Had to overcome racial prejudice casting my vote. Thanks to those who did same. Once again proud to be an American. The beauty I see is a happy, educated, accomplished, progressive, attractive woman who walks her talk.
She shines with intelligence and an inner/outer beauty. Also, must add, she looks "healthy" unlike the quitter and not overly made up with tons of makeup.
I know, huh? Absolutely, positively, undeniably...total and utter class. Every time I look at her I just wish I could have her as my friend. Can you imagine??? Now she is definitely someone to look up to...a true role model for any girl out there.
I'd also love to sit down and have a conversation with Mrs. Robinson. What a wonderful mother and grandmother she is. Our First Family epitomizes all that is the best in our country. Beaglemom
I love her, too. I am sad to say that I know people who hate her, for no other reason than she is married to Barrack Obama. It's their loss really, not to recognize her value at a time like this in our history.
That's probably because they listen to a certain overpaid, undereducated mushmouth fat pig who regularly disparages Michelle Obama, not to mention all women, and of course POTUS himself.
I couldn't be happier that the campaign to make Rush Limbaugh spend his own money to stay on the air is still going strong. He's lost a lot of advertising dollars in a lot of markets since his attack on Sandra Fluck.
And just to illustrate that we at IM, are fair and balanced, as much as I despised George W. Bush, Laura Bush was also a First Lady with Class and Intelligence. She went out of her way to welcome Michelle Obama, and the new first daughters to the White House, and treated them with dignity and respect. Something that the Alaskan she beast, that will remain nameless, does not have the common sense to do.
ReplyDeleteVery nice.
This presidency has been a big step forward for America.

ReplyDeleteFind something else to complain about. The dress and it's color? Really?

She looks absolutely beautiful. Hair, beautiful face, and the dress style and color is just lovely.

DeleteActually, Sharon, I think it's perfect! Understated and elegant, just like SHE is!
DeleteIt's a formal portrait, thus the clean lines and dark color of the dress is entirely appropriate, if not Michelle Obama's "best" look.
DeleteIt's not just that she is a beauty - the intelligence shines through the eyes, the smile and the posture - not to mention the style - some ex politicians could learn a lot by studying FLOTUS.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure I liked the bangs at first but she looks absolutely spectacular!
ReplyDeleteThey were a surprise, weren't they? Took us all by surprise, but now, well, they are lovely, and playful, and just real!
DeleteI loved the bangs right away, but when I saw her at the inauguration, I thought they looked especially good. Something about seeing the whole package, her clothing, her height, her smile...it all just works.
DeleteI think she's a doll.
So beautiful and classy. A perfect first lady.
ReplyDeleteClass all the way! Go ahead Michelle with your bad self!
ReplyDeleteShe is an amazing woman in every way - her exercise and eating healthy programs could potentially do more for American children and families than any legislation. It takes BOTH - and the very intelligent Obamas know that.
ReplyDeleteNot at all Gryphen, she is beautiful .
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful!

So True, Great comment !!
DeleteWell said and so true!

DeleteNice indeed!

ReplyDeleteMichelle Obama: Classic beauty and elegance.

Enquiring minds want to know.
Not to mention all of the flies buzzing around her, that would be captured in the photo.
DeleteWhat a beautiful, healthy, intelligent woman. She just glows!

Me too! I am just like you. So wake up and be grateful! I am so proud of my President and First Lady. They are awesome!
DeleteMe three! 63, white, red state. Breaking the Teabagger Baby Boomer stereotype one GoldenGirl at a time!
DeleteMe too kind of. 63 y-o white woman, but Blue state, a happier place to be. I look at this picture of Michelle and understand why Barack can't help acting like a schoolkid around her.
DeleteCount me as # 5 - white, 61 year old woman with the greatest respect for FLOTUS Michelle Obama and her husband President Barack Obama.
DeleteShe is a doll! Smart too. I'm delighted she represents the women of the USA. We are fortunate indeed!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnd she keeps her weight maintained without cases of Red Bull, 5 Hour Energy or a mountain sized pile of meth.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful First Lady..A beautiful family..
ReplyDeleteSmart, funny, intelligent. She's a winner. Love the bangs!
ReplyDeleteI live in Illinois -- AND I WANT HER TO RUN FOR THE SENATE SO BAAAAAD!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe would win -- easily. IF she wants to do it. But she probably doesn't want to do it.
I look at this picture, and then picture $arah out the window of the truck at Iron Dog below.
ReplyDeleteWe are SO fortunate to have her our FLOTUS! Talk about class, style, and intelligence!

We ALL have our prejudices, we are human. It is so freeing, isn't it, to let them go?
DeleteGood for you, 8:17!
DeleteGlad you could join us! Ditto your description of our First Lady!
She shines with intelligence and an inner/outer beauty. Also, must add, she looks "healthy" unlike the quitter and not overly made up with tons of makeup.
ReplyDeleteUncle Gryphen, you said:" Is it disrespectful if I just say, "Damn!" "
ReplyDeleteI must say: yes, it is. You should have said "HOT DAMN!" :P
I know, huh? Absolutely, positively, undeniably...total and utter class. Every time I look at her I just wish I could have her as my friend. Can you imagine???

Politics aside, this is a brain wreckingly beautiful woman.
ReplyDeletelike her smile
ReplyDeleteEven I think this is a strange comment, but doesn't see have beautiful young hands? !!!
ReplyDeleteNot strange at all! Whenever I see the first lady, my eyes are always drawn to her hands, they're beautiful. Especially at her speech to the DNC.
DeleteAnd just to illustrate that we at IM, are fair and balanced, as much as I despised George W. Bush, Laura Bush was also a First Lady with Class and Intelligence.
