Even Bill O'Reilly admits that the "compelling argument" for marriage equality is "on the side of the homosexuals."

Courtesy of the Huffington Post:

He (Bill O'Reilly) said he didn't "feel that strongly" about gay marriage "one way or another" and thought the decision should be left to individual states. "I want all Americans to be happy," he said, adding, "I live in New York. New York is fine with it."

(Megyn) Kelly said pro-marriage equality forces had made very compelling arguments that opponents had been hard-pressed to tackle.

"I agree with you 100 percent. The compelling argument is on the side of homosexuals," O'Reilly said. "That is where the compelling argument is. We're Americans, we just want to be treated like everybody else. That's a compelling argument, and to deny that you've got to have a very strong argument on the other side. And the other side hasn't been able to do anything but thump the Bible." This, he added, was not a basis on which to enact public policy.

Whoa! Referring to opponents of same sex marriage as "bible thumpers" is certainly going to get Fox News in a little hot water with their hyper religious conservative base.

You know I almost wonder if this is not also part of the conservative's plan to reach out to the young people. Perhaps the folks at Fox News recognize that this is a losing argument for the Republican party, and as their propagandists have decided to lead the way toward accepting the inevitable.

Unless of course you are actually willing to believe that Bill O'Reilly wants "all Americans to be happy?"

Yeah me either.

I think that Bill O'recognizes hypocrisy when he sees it, plus, he's a little too smart to be religious.

To anon in response: nah he isn't religious. You can tell whenever he talks about it that he just wishes their was a compelling argument for god but there isn't. You think he hasn't been approached hundreds of times and had it explained to him how the tides work? Lol. I can always tell how people really feel about religion. He was brought up with it and wishes he was like the simple people who take it all in so unquestioningly, but he can't. He's smelled something off since he was a kid and things only got worse. He kept it up for appearances but secretly rolls his eyes at the true believer bible thumpers. And don't we all? Sorry; you have to be quite simple to not seriously struggle with the idea.

Nah.... just like 12:46 said. BOR recognizes that a theocracy is a very dangerous form of govt. BOR is divorced as of 2011, with kids. It will cost him and arm and a leg to get an annulment from the RCC.

He's using the RCC to be vindictive and must be shitting his pants to realize this could be done to him, too.

  3. Gryphen, OT, but WTF? Bristol now says she new about Trig having Down syndrome before he was born? What about Sarah's decision to not let the kids know ahead of time....? Color me confused but not surprised.

    Brancy's post: http://www.patheos.com/blogs/bristolpalin/2013/03/what-i-wish-i-knew/

Sarah tells People Mag she kept Trig's condition a secret: http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20223201,00.html

Can you say oooops! I'm sure there's some kind of "what's said in the fishing boat" moral to this story.

Oh, there you go. Nancy French wrote the story without doing any research, namely reading Sarah's account of "I couldn't tell anyone." Neither Nancy nor Bristol wrote anything to acknowledge International DS Day, March 21. This is too little, all wrong, too late. Sarah let DS day go unremarked, too.

The only photo that Bristol could find shows Trig when he was much younger, wearing glasses and looking at a book. I wonder what kind of therapy he is getting. Grandpa Chuck said, on a radio program, that Trig can say three or four words, and he isn't potty trained. It's hard to imagine him being mainstreamed in a preschool (as Bristol or Nancy wrote). Most schools do not take kids unless they are toilet trained. His lack of ability to talk requires therapy, not preschool. Sadly, Trig was Sarah's political prop, and five years later, he is still being used as a prop for the Palin family. He really deserves a better chance at life than being a little "love bug."

    2. C'mon you guys... you're talking about a family that, even with their IQ's combined, wouldn't break 100.

OF COURSE they can't keep their collective stories straight - because they're lying, and everyone knows it at this point.

They're so dense, they can't find shoes in a shoe box.

    3. KAO -- They're dim enough to believe their own mythology.

Does Bristol really believe folks think she writes her own blog/has her own thoughts on issues? (Thinking of Gino mentioning Brancy in Bristol's reality show and getting dumped to the curb.)

Sarah is supposed to be Trig's main caregiver? Then why does Bristol thank Piper for helping with "the boys"?

And as others have stated, none of this would matter if Palin did not have such negative influence on modern political discourse. I will never forgive her for "death panels". She has government provided health insurance yet made sure the rest of us will need to scramble and scrounge to pay for healthcare.

OT Note to Gryphen: Bristol finally has a new post, which she begins by saying, "When I found out Mom was pregnant with a baby who would have Down syndrome, I confess. I was scared. I didn’t know what it would mean for his life or for ours."

The problem is that according to Sarah Palin, in reporting soon after she was chosen as McCain's running mate in 2008 (much closer to the date than today's recollection), she tells a different story:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/29/trig-paxson-van-palin-sar_n_122474.html

"Trig is beautiful and already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed."

But she did not tell anyone, other than her husband, that Trig Palin would be special needs.

Initially Palin hid her pregnancy - and her pain - from both the public and her children, son Track, now 19, and daughters Bristol, 17, Willow, 14, and Piper, 7.

"Not knowing in my own heart if I was going to be ready to embrace a child with special needs," she reveals, "I couldn't talk about it."

As Todd and their three daughters gathered around the bedside (Track, an Army private, listened in by phone from his base in Fairbanks), Willow said of the new arrival, "He looks like he has Down syndrome."

Palin, who says her own qualms were laid to rest "the minute [Trig] was born," felt a lump in her throat. "If he does, you know you will still love him, Willow. It'll be okay."

Willow pressed: "But why didn't you tell us?"

Palin admitted she didn't know how to break the news. "I was a little shocked," says Willow "but I don't care - he's my brother and I love him."

Note to Bristol: Willow says, "Why didn't you tell us?" Sarah said, "I couldn't talk about it." Dear Bristol, posting on a Christian website, is breaking one of the ten commandments, bearing false witness. No, maybe she's not lying. Maybe she is remembering what really happened when SHE learned that SHE was expecting a DS child. I don't blame her for being scared. According to the rest of the family, Sarah never told anyone until Willow diagnosed Trig's DS after he was born. Too many stories, too little truth.

I hope the younger citizens in America don't fall for the supposed 'rebranding' of their party. They are not to be trusted - especially on the national level - in Congress. Be watchful of them on the state and local levels too! They really aren't changing much on the social levels - very anti abortion continues state-to-state. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

If anyone here has read "Game Change" or "It's Classified" then you would know that diagnosed mental illness, even if treated, is something, unfortunately, that would preclude a person from successfully running for any office. Ashley is smart, driven and very capable, however, her medical records with her bi-polar illness would put her under such scrutiny that she would not be able to win an election.

Ashley can be a very strong voice for America and for Progressive values, and I for one would not wish for her to subject herself to the intrusive politicking that would happen if she were to run. She'll be a voice for positive politics forever and she can do that without putting her hat into the ring.

"A recent report by an alternative weekly in Louisville said the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was "re-evaluating" its support for Judd after an internal poll showed Lundergan Grimes "performed better than Judd and gave Democrats the best chance at victory." Guy Cecil, executive director of the DSCC, has said both women are among the "quality candidates" in the state."

NOT to despair - Grimes has more political chops than Judd, nice, beautiful lady that Judd may be.

Palin’s Super PAC Releases Fundraising Vid With Growling Grizzly Bear

SarahPAC, the super PAC led by former GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, released a web video Wednesday to rally supporters and raise money for the 2014 midterms.

The video features a number of commentators and politicians heaping praise on Palin's ability to endorse winning candidates. It ends with a shot of a grizzy bear standing upright and growling.

She must be broke, scrounging around for cash so she gets someone who doesn't know shit about putting together videos to put together this hyped up piece of garbage? Time for some new face lifts and botox treatments I guess. She likes to think that she had such a hand in these people being elected, when she always just jumps on the bandwagon in the last few weeks and then takes credit if they win. Same ol' shtick to bring attention to herself. Taking credit where no credit is due. This isn't 2010 anymore, Obama was RE-ELECTED by the majority of voters and has a huge track record that he didn't have in 2010, and the GOP party is in the toilet. She doesn't have anywhere near the chops that she was once given credit for, if you notice, most of those clips were not recent ones, but dating all the way back to 2010. It's a new day, a new time and Sarah is obsolete politically, even CPAC didn't do more than get her a blip in the news. Desperate measures, I'd say. And to use that stupid Mama Grizzly reference is so outdated, are they so stupid that they can't even come up with a current campaign slogan? Yes.

Sarah Palin Returns To Help Democrats Win More Elections In 2014

The video mentions her record of picking winners in places like Texas, Arizona, and South Carolina, but it doesn’t mention that her meddling also gave the party losing candidates like Joe Miller and Christine O’Donnell in 2010. Palin picked a lot of winners in a Republican landslide year (2010), but she also donated to lots of losers in 2012.

In this video Palin tries to position herself as the tea party outsider with the strength and skill to go up against Karl Rove and the Republican establishment in 2014. Keep in mind that this self styled right wing kingmaker was fired by Fox News because her lunatic ramblings hurt the image of the network and the Republican Party.

The idea that the perpetually trapped in 2008 Palin is in touch enough with the country to pick candidates that will appeal to a broad spectrum of voters borders on insane. Palin is so out of step with the times that she is still questioning Obama’s birth certificate.

If Palin donated the super PAC money that she raises to candidates, she could be taken seriously. However, SarahPAC has a long history of spending money on Sarah Palin. An election is coming up, so Sarah Palin is back to line her pockets while pretending that she is interested in helping the conservative cause. SarahPAC took in more than $5 million in 2012, but the PAC only donated a little over $300,000 to candidates. The PAC spent nearly as much money on Sarah Palin’s travel ($260,000) as it donated to candidates ($311,000).

Palin easily cost Republicans at least two Senate seats in 2010, and while the arrogance in this latest SarahPAC video is laughable, any involvement on her part bodes well for Democrats in 2014.

/ Hi Gryphen. Seen what follows? It was seen on the www. Chuck /

(The following paper was inspired by Bill O'Reilly whose TV show favors God Dumpers and not "Bible Thumpers." Quotes are from "Vital Quotations" by Emerson West.)

    DANGEROUS BIBLE THUMPERS OF AMERICA

ROBERT E. LEE: "In all my perplexities and distresses, the Bible has never failed to give me light and strength." (p. 21)
DANIEL WEBSTER: "If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper." (p. 21)
JOHN QUINCY ADAMS: "I have made it a practice for several years to read the Bible through in the course of every year." (p. 22)
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: "I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Saviour of the world is communicated to us through this book." (p. 22)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." (p. 22)
HORACE GREELEY: "It is impossible to mentally or socially enslave a Bible-reading people." (p. 23)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: "I hold the precepts of Jesus as delivered by himself to be the most pure, benevolent, and sublime which have ever been preached to man. I adhere to the principles of the first age; and consider all subsequent innovations as corruptions of this religion, having no foundation in what came from him." (p. 45)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: "Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from his lips, the whole civilized world would by now have become Christian." (p. 47)
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: "As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and his religion, as he left them to us, is the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see." (p.49)
WOODROW WILSON: "The sum of the whole matter is this----that our civilization cannot survive materially unless it be redeemed spiritually. It can only be saved by becoming permeated with the spirit of Christ and being made free and happy by practices which spring out of that spirit." (p. 143)
PATRICK HENRY: "There is a just God who presides over the destiny of nations." (p. 145)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: "Material abundance without character is the surest way to destruction." (p. 225)
THOMAS JEFFERSON: "Of all the systems of morality, ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to me so pure as that of Jesus." (p. 237)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: "The foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing is a vice so mean and low, that every person of sense and character detests and despises it." (p. 283)
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: "Here is my creed. I believe in one God, the Creator of the universe. That he governs it by his Providence. That he ought to be worshiped." (p. 301)
CALVIN COOLIDGE: "The strength of a country is the strength of its religious convictions." (p. 305)
GEORGE WASHINGTON: "The perpetuity of this nation depends upon the religious education of the young." (p. 306)

Prior to our increasingly "Hell-Bound and Happy" era, America's greatest leaders were part of the (gulp) Religious Right! Today we've forgotten God's threat (to abort America) in Psa. 50:22----"Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver." Memo to God Dumpers: In light of Rev. 16:19, can you be sure you won't be in a city that God has already reserved for destruction?
