It looks like the rumors about Elizabeth Hasselbeck are true.

Courtesy of the New York Post:

Elisabeth Hasselbeck “is toast” on ABC’s “The View,” sources tell us, despite show doyenne Barbara Walters insisting the conservative blonde isn’t getting fired.

Rumors swirling that Hasselbeck was on her way out forced Walters to say last Monday, “We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show.” But a source tells us, “ABC is desperate to freshen the show. Ratings are going soft, and research numbers on the stars’ likability are scaring network execs.

“Dumping Joy Behar, who was there 16 years, and Hasselbeck would be the fastest way to do it, they decided. After giving Behar the bad news last week and letting her bow out gracefully, someone leaked the Hasselbeck thing. Some enemies she has on the show saw their chance to get back at her. Barbara was spitting mad that it got mishandled, and called off the firing over [last] weekend.”

While we heard Hasselbeck would go when her contract is up next year, the source added, “It could be earlier, because the ABC brass believes the show needs to be younged-up fast. They easily could coax her to go early.”

I have no problem believing that  she has enemies on the show, the woman is so unbelievably arrogant and one sided most of the time, that it completely takes away from any attractiveness she might possess.

And even when she finally gets fed up, like she did with Sarah and Bristol Palin, she still cannot help but stand up for other conservatives icons that are equally as bad.

Personally I think they are dumping Joy Behar to provide cover for their firing of Hasselbeck. That way they still appear to be balanced.

Stay tuned for Hasselbeck's new job as pundit and commentator for Fox News. You know it's coming. Where else does she have to go?

I can't stand Hasselbeck, with her conservative christian mommy meme. She doesn't think for herself. She just spouts the party lines. How many times have the other cast members had to set her straight and then she shuts up. Glad she's going although, I stopped watching that show a long time ago because of Hasselbeck.

Strange that they are playing a rerun this morning. Is this vacation time for the View or some U.S. holiday?

    2. Hope she and hubby have saved a few of their overpaid dollars cause they both may be headed to the unemployment office soon. The Titans are letting him go too.

She was one of my major reasons for not watching the show and I bet if the subject of unemployment benefits ever came up, she was against it. She rode coattails on Survivor, got a cushy tv job with no experience which probably landed her that fairly well known QB in the bargain. I so hope there is a reality check on the way for the little faux princess.

She isn't married to the quarterback she got a way worse version of the Hasselback's Tim, the sports announcer. Who looks and acts like the hired help in the relationship. Saw their condo sure he isn't going to afford it on his salary, so hope the FOx gig comes thru for EH ah not really I can't stand her. Oh and QVC can't sell her clothes because of so many complaints. She might have to get a real job.

And speaking of being dumped, I was incredulous to read a sane, rational post for a PalinBot named LoneStar over at the C4Pee website.

This person deserves an award for honesty, which is seldom the same on a blog that is mostly comprised of $arah worshipers and bloviators

    Here's his post verbatim:

Lots of folks feel like they got PLAYED by Sarah Palin. I'm talking about people I know who used to be great supporters of SP.

After the bus tour, especially with Palin showing up near Romney's big event and her sudden vanishing act, they got disillusioned with her. None of them were big Romney supporters, they just didn't like the way she handled herself back then.

None of them want to see her run for elected office again.

Well said LoneStar, you are the rare PalinBot that recognizes Granny Grifter for exactly who she really is

And if they begin to pay attention they'll see more to dislike or at least distrust about this woman. She will likely pull in a crowd for years to come (at least until her looks really deteriorate--her anorexic appearance isn't going to help) but she will be used to rile the crowd, to bring them to their feet with her snarky remarks. She will only be considered politically viable by the smallest of her fan base but her days of raking in money is far from over. She will continue to study and mimic the success of Ann Coultor but unlike Coulter, she does not have the intellectual chops to make the same kind of money in the same way. The vile Ms. Coulter doesn't have to pay for her sound bites or speeches--she can come up with them all by herself--and while annoying, Ms. Coulter is not afraid of going on any show and is not afraid of the MSM or even Bill Maher. Somewhere down the road Ms. Palin will have to figure out yet another way that she can get people to give her money for doing absolutely nothing.

I totally agree with your assessment....I have seen enough of Evil Ann to know she is not a total uneducated idiot (in the context she knows Africa is a continent and the diff between No/So Korea). Having said that...she is an original and really believes in her hatred and has the (her) facts to back it up. She doesn't rely on sound bytes or anyone else to write her books or speeches and will go on any show...her chats with Bill Mahr are never boring and there have been times where he actually shut her up.

Palin has been proof positive on the dumbing down of our media...it's the "entertainment" value for getting ratings. If it hadn't been for that and her relentless need for attention (good and bad)she would have crawled back into her dark hole years ago.

The photo of the View when the President was on was disgusting. Hasselbeck was sitting on the end of the couch with her skirt hiked up to the top of her thigh. Then I realized that the reason she does this is to take attention away from her little lab rat face. Some Christian mommy, showing her wares on national TV, just like $carah.

Not very hateful, just CRASS like $arah Paylin making joke about her fake tits at a CHRISTIAN conservative conference.

And tastelessly wearing jeans when they sent out memos on how to dress.

I thought that the next line was going to be something about that soda-sippin' jingo-spountin' grizzly mama angling for that job. Of course that would mean moving to New York City, where The View is taped. I can see Sarah now, wearing her Jewish star, eating Kosher food and writing her book about putting Christ back in Chanukah.

I've never cared for Hasselbeck, but do love Joy Behar and her great sense of humor!

Barbara has egg on her face after having said that Hasselbeck was not leaving the show! Personally think Barbara should retire - it's way past time for her. She needs to go out gracefully and I suspect she won't! Too big an ego!

  7. I have hoped for Hasselbeck's removal from The View for a long time, although I seldom watch the show any more. Sick of all the phoniness and lack of critical thinking by the hosts. The whole show should be given a big send-off and Barbara Walters should return to her crypt permanently.

I am really enjoying Geoffrey Dunn's fine article on Sarah Palin. Oh, he knows his subject so well!

    1. Thanks for the link Crystal! And yes you are right...VERY enjoyable article by Mr Dunn....love this paragraph....

"According to my sources in south-central Alaska with direct links to the Palin family, Palin now has a personal vendetta against Rove. She blames Rove not only for her rather unceremonious departure from Fox News, but for her embarrassing bid for the presidency in 2012. In a widely cited interview in 2010 with Great Britain's Daily Telegraph, Rove suggested that Palin lacked the level of "gravitas" required to hold national office. It was a stinging rebuke of Palin aimed at GOP powerbrokers."

Hehe...hahahaha....bwahahahahaha...this SHIT is about to get real GOOD! Baldy going after Turdblossom is a fool's errand and we all know that the Queen of the Fools...Baldy is STUPID!

      Go for it Baldy! LOL!!!

Is the media manipulating again? And a blog is perpetuating the lies?

    Shocker.

I think Joy left to pursue other things. And I don't think Lizzie is leaving. Did you watch last Monday's episode?

When I think of the View, I think of the moment Whoopi and Barbara were lamenting tabloids for saying they were engaged to men they'd never met.

I also think of Whoopi going apeshit on authors who pen unauthorized bios about 3 years ago.

These women know all about the trashy side of the media, the manipulative side. I know the show's fluff, but they're all pretty friendly for once. Once unstable Rosie left anyway.

I wish they'd get ALL new cohosts. Sherri has inane, vapid commentary, Whoopi is also non-thinking. I don't blame ABC for wanting to shake things up. It's just sad how they have to put out lies for drama. But ABC is known for this with its programming. They have thrown many a good person under the bus for ratings.

Remember, it is this media that takes pictures of stars walking into professional buildings and materializes a "Jennifer Aniston received hours of fertility treatments yesterday. Here's a pic of her going into the office"

Ignoring the fact she was walking into a DENTIST office.

I quit watching The View years ago because I can't stand EH. One day I was flipping thru the channels and EH was ranting about something and BW turned to her and softly told her she was inflexible and refused to looks at both sides of the story. Of course EH said "no I don't and BW said "Yes you do" This was years ago and it was so brief it was almost subliminal. But I remember thinking then BW was not happy with EH. After all EH was "famous" for being on Survivor and pissing and moaning ,her hair falling out and refusing to bathe. She was gross. Quite the Resume.

I watched back when Meredith Vierra was the lead host, they started by discussing the headlines, then went into detail on one or two topics of interest, they had this ditzy greek girl (forgot her name), she wasn't whiney, flashy, or conservative but clearly out of her element, but the show worked back then.

Now they have a lot of fierce competition with "The Talk" in the same time slot. Something about Lis just grates on my nerves. . Joy was the perfect foil for Whoopie, so that dynamics gone. Sherri is like oatmeal, and Lis is like a tomato without salt.

I really think Babs should retire the show.
