Republicans secretly believe that Hillary is going to crush them in 2016.

Courtesy of Business Insider:

As Republicans begin to gear up for the 2016 presidential race, GOP insiders have one major concern that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the RNC's autopsy report.

Her name is Hillary Clinton, and Republicans worry that they won't have a shot against her, regardless of what changes the party makes before 2016.

Although most Republican strategists would not go on the record disparaging the party's chances, in private conversations with Business Insider, many savvy GOP insiders conceded that any Republican nominee would face an uphill battle against the former Secretary of State.

"If she runs, it'll be almost impossible, I fear," one Washington-based Republican strategist told Business Insider.

A New York-based GOP media strategist concurred: "It will be extremely hard for Republicans to beat Hillary in 2016," he said, adding that the difficulties would be compounded if the party nominates another candidate who fails to ignite the conservative base.

"Should Hilary run and Jeb [Bush] be the nominees, how can you ever defend the Bush years against the Clinton years?"

I asked in my last post who could possibly follow President Obama's amazing presidency? I think we have our answer.

Oh and by the way, for the troll that is about to post that the Republicans prepared for a Hillary campaign in 2008 and are prepared with all kinds of ammunition to use against her, all I have to say is that they prepared for the 2008 Hillary Clinton, they have NOTHING in their repertoire to deal with the 2016 Hillary Clinton.

What are they going to do, yell "Benghazi" while stomping their feet and pulling their hair?

Well, yes, after all, that *is* what they have been doing since the attack in Benghazi. Why change a winning strategy?

    Oh, wait...

It can only improve her looks. She already has that masculine look and the flat ass of a 10-yr old boy. I'm sure Toddy will be more attracted to her once she has a set of her own balls and can give him back his tiny shriveled raisins hat she keeps in her purse.

I can hardly wait to vote for Hillary Clinton. Love the idea of her following President Obama! We will likely have 8 years of Dems in the White House and it will be outstanding.

I doubt the Republicans will constantly demean her as they have our wonderful President Obama for his first term and are continuing the same thing into his second. He beats the shit out of them in spite of their obstruction.

Hillary will run circles around them too!!! Love the idea of President Clinton being the husband to President Hillary Clinton too!!!

I still think it's funny that people who hated everything about HIllary in her Presidential campaign years ago now are kissing her hiney. Lookin at you G man.

Has there been any other politician go from being reviled to being worshipped in less than a decade? Less than 5 years?

That's remarkable. And probably stupid considering nothing has had time to change with the person, though people can change day to day and do.

Let's hope Hillary is no longer a farleft, 2 bit hack who doesn't think things through as far as political goals and policy.

You are overlooking Hillary's 4 years as the Secretary of State. She is respected all over the world. In 2008, I would have been happy with Hillary or Barrack although after Barrack's 2004 speech at the Dec convention, I knew he was destined to be President. I sincerely hope that Hillary decides to run - I will do everything I can do to help her win.

I was a volunteer for the Obama campaign in 2008, and while I supported him over Hillary, I certainly did not 'revile' her, nor did any of the other volunteers I knew. You right-wing trolls just don't get it, because you are so disrespectful and full of hate. It's possible to support a person you believe to be a better candidate without having to resort to hatred of opponents. That's how civilized people act. Now that Obama has been elected TWICE, I am happy to support Hillary Clinton in a bid for the presidency. I also believe that her term as Secretary of State has made her a greater candidate than she was in 2008. And I would have supported her even then, had she won the nomination.

Hilary was never far left. Are you kidding? She voted for the Iraq war and I've always thought of her as a bit conservative.

If you hold grudges and let a tough campaign be a yardstick, no one of any quality would ever get elected. Sure---many people did not exactly love what happened in 2008. But Hilary showed what she was made of as Sec. of State. And bouncing decent democrats out of the party is not what we do---unlike what the hysterical GOP does to people in their party who don't eat paste and think the world is round.

And as far as hacks go---we have the whole of the damned GOP who fill out the hack end of politics. Better?

I was a Hillary supporter during the 2008 primary. She was my candidate of choice. It will be nice to finally cast my vote for her in 2016. I simply didn't know enough about Obama to cast my vote for POTUS in 2008 but after watching him for 4 years I did vote for him in 2012.

The troll in the first comment loves to pigeonhole all liberals but we don't all just vote in lockstep. Sometimes we vote for other progressive parties, such as Green, and sometimes we don't vote for a candidate until we find out more.

Hillary's accomplishments speak for themselves and I feel she is the strongest Democratic candidate we've had since her husband! She too will most likely face an obstructionist Congress but I think she just might have a few tricks up her sleeve.

I respect Mrs. Clinton greatly, most especially her recent work as Sec. of State. I do however, have some reservations about her past record. Again, like Obama, we have pretty much a centrist being posed as a progressive.

I also have some reservations about returning a Clinton to the White House. Smacks of Theocracy. However, I'd much rather see a Clinton in the White House than any Republican! (Especially a Bush!)

I'd like to see Elizabeth Warren in 2016. I'm imagining the Democratic runoff debates - Hillary against Elizabeth - wouldn't that be a great thing to see?

I don't know much about Hillary's voting record in the Senate other than that she supported the Iraq war. It seems that others' support for her is more personal than based on her record. My criticism of Palin/Marty Rutherford/TransCanada pipeline applies to Hillary. As Sec. of State, she had ties to TransCanada and was (is?) favorable to the pipeline.

On the other hand, Hillary worked hard for single-payer healthcare during Pres. Clinton's administration. As Sec. of State, she was a strong advocate for women's rights and freedom. That's enough for me to vote for her over any GOP opponent. We're still a 'center' nation and I think electing a true progressive would be a crap-shoot.

As a New Yorker, I was very happy with Hillary as my Senator and was sorry to lose her, despite thinking she did a superb job as SoS. Although many people were originally skeptical because she was not considered a 'real' NYer prior to the election, she changed a lot of minds during the time she served. She spent a LOT of time travelling the state in the beginning of her term, talking to people and learning about what New Yorkers needed. She worked hard for the state and helped bring a lot of much-needed economic development to western NY where I live. Fortunately, after she left we got a wonderful replacement in Kirsten Gillibrand.

While I am a strong supporter of President Obama, I supported Hillary when she ran in 2008 and wanted to see her as President with Obama as VP, and then have him elected POTUS for the 8 years after that. Maybe I'll be lucky and get that after all, just in a slightly different order!

The reason that Palin's name comes up is that one reason for her being the VP nominee was to pick up the disenchanted Hillary supporters. But it didn't turn out that way. Hillary is smart and Palin isn't and wasn't. Hillary works hard and Sarah doesn't. There was no comparison.

I don't think you mean "theocracy" since that is a form of government ruled by a deity or god. Remember our two Adams presidents? It isn't just Hillary we should consider getting into office. We need to get the states out of Republican control and take back the House, as well as reduce the numbers of conservatives gumming up the works. If more common sense conservatives rise up to drive off the extreme right, then fine, but right now there isn't much getting done because they are obstructing everything they can.

  20. I confess, I am not a Hillary fan. But I know there are lots of female voters who are still angry that Obama beat Hillary in the 2008 primary, and they will work their hearts out to make sure Hillary is the Democratic nominee in 2016.

I love that a strong, intelligent woman is poised to fight off the party of hate (against women and L/B/G/Ts), inequality, racism and idiocy. My gay hairdresser has been waiting for years for Hillary to kick their asses. She will be the first woman president, but more important than that she is going to be the most level headed and qualified person running. I don't agree with her on many things, including foreign policy, but she cares about fairness and equality and wants to help the women of the world who are being oppressed, it is way past time for that to happen. Just think how much fun it will be listening to the idiots who hate women spewing their crazy thinking while she is running and during her presidency.
