Can it be July already?

I swear, and don't think I'm crazy, whenever anything huge breaks in the news, whether it be the Boston bombing, a big election, or this battle over gun legislation, I always imagine how Will McAvoy will report on it.

I know, he is only a TV character. But still, is there ANYBODY on television that has given us the straight poop the way that he did in this famous scene?

Come on July, I am not a patient man.

OT: I see the oil tax bill referendum has been certified on the day that Mudflats talks about Conoco's obscene AK profits. Poetic.

O/T Mississippi high school forces students to attend Christian lectures

The assemblies concluded with a prayer and teachers blocked the exits to prevent students from leaving, the lawsuit claimed. A disillusioned student videotaped one of the assemblies.

The whole "WE'RE NUMBER ONE!" thing is so bad.

Its innocuous enough when you are rooting for a high school football team, and the only danger is in looking like a fool, as your team is down 54-3 and sits second to last on the league's standings.

But to childishly carry it over to "rooting" for a nation, means those who are leading it, are immune to criticism, for slowly destroying it.

    Think 1939 Germany...seig heil, baby.

Millions have allowed themselves to "forget" how terribly the United States was left, by the end of the "Dubbya" debacle.

When you try to remind them of it, and to show the advances from disaster President Obama has accomplished, all they say now, is that after four years, anything from 2009 no longer counts...that Obama has had plenty of time to repair the economy, mend the damages Bush inflicted on world opinion, and bring about world peace.
